I know this is not really the same topic as the song but still... It's funny to me how vikings had more respect for women than in any other religion. I mean the vikings, at least the chief viking had a women who was strong willed and tuff because they really had too be. The chief/ruler gave their women all the power over the village, the chiefs women became the new ruler while their man went out to sea. Women had to be depended on, they did almost everything themselves and made sure the village was safe, therfore Vikings looked up to women who had so much responsibility. Loyal women did not want to let down their men. When Christianity came strong willed and awesome women was seen as demons, all the popular female Gods from Asatru like Freyja was seen as demons because Christianity can't accept women being looked up to. Even if vikings did not see women as fighters or as strong as them at least women was respected. Occationaly some women was also vikings like the men warriors but it was kind of rare. However if a women at home was not a strong women and loyal there would be no home for vikings to come back to, this is why women was resptected by vikings. The song brings out our fighting spirit, for women and men!!
