So this is the reason this engine came make 258 lbs-ft from 2,400 rpm to 5,000 rpm. I just bought a 2007 C350 and it is amazing. I hit 130 mph the other day and it got there pretty quick.
That is the most excellent and detailed video of this procedure, thank you, I am about to embark on this adventure with a 2008 CLK 350 with 203,000 klms . I am curious why you didn't unplug the coil packs, you seem to wrestle with the wiring looms on both sides, would it not be easier to move them out of the way with the coil packs unplugged? As for peoples comments on " how do you know where all the bolts go ? " buy 12 clean takeout coffee cups and label them.. but the bolt sets in each. thanks for your sensible video. From Australia.
Nw meter? Intake manifold
Why oh why the fing music? Crazy
What are the other two actuators doing?
Yeah... Crappy 'modern German engineering'. Disgusting...
Excellent helpful and clear video instructions, thanks
Super helpful, thank you! A million connections
Couldn’t you just fix the part that was broken? Also, the part is plastic and they make metal replacements. Why spend $300-500 on a whole new intake when you could replace parts for 1/10th the cost?
進氣岐管故障,會導致跳檔不順甚至入r檔熄火嗎
Dear friend, in case of failure of the intake manifold the gear shifter seem to be at the higher gear and feels like you have to downshift or feels like the fuel is very lean.🤥
Nice. Only thing is the new manifold appears to have the same doomed to fail plastic flap lever that the original had. Oil and sludge build up on the inside flaps can be avoided by changing out the oil separator diaphragm thing behind the passenger side valve cover on a regular basis
This is GREAT....now I hope I never have to do this!!
Great video really helpful!
Amazing video, thanks! It enabled me to replace the intake manifold of my car within a short time and without faults. Great!

It's great to see the best of the best thanks for sharing keep up the good work
I really would of liked more detail in how to Uninstaller parts like the actuator and connections.didnt really like this quick run through

Hello guys. A little help please(P2006 - no check engine light, though ) It doesn't look like anything is damaged with me, but after pressing one of the levers as you do in the clip (2:55), it stays in the same position and does not return., at the same time it moves hard. What do you think the problem might be?

Just replace the manifold. It means the flaps are stuck in carbon buildup/Sludge.
They sell upgraded manifolds with better made pieces
Thank you for all your effort. Value your advice over music.
If the flaps are broken inside then 😳
How many broken clips 😢 on my 2007 ml.and how to replace them
Hi what is the symptoms to replace the inlet manifold The car had no good acceleration and if i hit the fuel pedal suddenly it won't shift to next gear till i remove my foot and when need to stop so hit the breaks it will gradually down shift with feeling to the all shifts Is that the because the intake??
My friend go back and carefully watch the video. Everything is explained.
Not a switchover valve though....
Were did you bought the intake manifold flat kit from please? I need it for mines been looking for it where to buy it. Mercedes-Benz doesn’t sell the kit so the whole set I don’t need the whole manifold set. I just need the kit.
We sell them. Where are you?
Excellent work
Don’t replace the intake. It’s gonna happen again. You can get the updated linkage made out of metal online. About 60 dollars and the problem is solved
There is a ton of car carbon build up on the flaps which are made (sadly) of plastic which Mercedes-Benz is famous for becoming brittle. If you reuse the intake manifold, small pieces will be ingested into your intake (ask me how I know)....plus, there is no way to change the pivot without removing the intake manifold.....owning a Benz past their warranty expiration is a complete nightmare on these vehicles.
"Don’t replace the intake. It’s gonna happen again". Reminds me of my brother when he was about 5 or 6. He would argue with our mom to not take a shower since it is a waste of time and money because he would get dirty again.
Thanks for this video - it's really going to help when I attempt this. One question though, would you recommend swapping the plastic tumbler flap actuator on the front of the brand new manifold with one of those billet aluminum ones from AGA or URO, so that the possibility of it breaking in the future is basically zero? I'm in two minds as I read that Mercedes specified the tumble flap actuator to be plastic so it would break before the actuator flaps inside the manifold itself...
Law boy, others have asked this question too. My reply is NO. It is like taking a 10 Amp fuse and replacing the wire bridge with a heavy-duty wire that can efficiently conduct a 200 Amp current. Is this smart or what?
@@mbhmercedes-benz7822 idiotic, that same shitty plastic part is going to break AGAIN very soon. Many have replaced with aluminum and had no problems.. why would you replace the entire manifold with the same faulty part lmao
Good afternoon i need to replace my intake manifold on my Mercedes C320 W203 year 2001 ,i believe it is on the right side under in , what type of time frame would i be looking at Mercedes Dealer believe a little under 4 hours ?? thanks for your help much appereciated ...
You are looking at M112 engine on a 2001 C320. It is a different engine than this one. The time it takes you to do the job depends on how skillful and experienced you are Unless you are a “mechanic” and want to know what the book allows for this job.
What Size bolts did you use to align the Intake manifold? (2007 GL450, V8). As I would like to do the Same. Thank you for a great and Helpful Video A++++.
Same bolts as intake manifold or possibly 5mm longer but you cut the top off.
@@mbhmercedes-benz7822 what is the bolt diameter?
I would love to see this on a MB 273 V8. GL450. Plenty video's on the six cylinder M272 but not too many or ANY on the M273. I know the procedure is close on both but it would be nice too see the M273 V8 Thank you again.
Thank you for watching and leaving comments.
Exactly the same. Doing my 08 right now. Complete fuel injector, ignition, and air handling rebuild. Not cheap..
Excellent Job. Thank you for explaining those little Gray Clips that are always a pain. I'm on Long island and I see you mentioned October, Will you be coming here to Long Island? I would love for you to do this job on my truck. This is the Best video I have seen great JOB!! Thank you.

Hello, i replaced the intake manifold and now i have p0106 intake manifold pressure sensor malfunction, i changed the sensor for a oem one and the vacum hose to it. And im still getting the code. I have 5v and ground in the connetor. Any idea what it could be ?
Check your work again.
How long should this take on 2010 ML550?
I don't know. It depends on you and your experiences and skills. Under 5 hours is good.
The inside of that intake manifold looks like a beginning of a great music video.
I like your vision.

I'm in the process of replacing mine. Got the old one out. The code I had was p2004 but nothing seems broken, everything is in its place. Any idea?
Sorry, I can not say what is or was bad without looking at it.
Hello, have you been able to do anything to your car? I have p2004, too (no check engine light, though). Car is generally ok but a little slow at lower rpm. I am afraid to open it up and find everything intact. This is not an easy job
Apart from the code, what symptoms does your car show?
@@David-el6hh tumbler on mine broke. noticed at low rpm car would not accelerate prperly until high speeds
@gjoniny1534 Have you replaced it? Is there any noticeable improvement after?
Are you in VA Beach? can you recommend a mechanic in the NYC/NJ area?
Michael, sorry for delay in replying, was travelling in Japan and Europe for couple of months. I am in VA beach. Give me your zip code? How far are you from Long Island? Can you wait till October or about?
I am replacing the manifold. Should I be lubricating any of the internal flaps before installing. If so with what?
No sir you don't. Just follow the video.
I need this IM replaced on my 2011 ML350. Do you know of any top MB mechanics in the NY/NJ area?
I have 09 E350 with 55K miles and it drives like brand new. I've been checking this flaps on my car every 1st day of the months for a last 2 years (Never missed). But it broke on 1st of May when i was checjing the flaps.. The damage was at the same spot in this video. The broken piece still attached with the middle rod. The car felt the same and no CEL. . The drip pan (pcv) and the caps has been replaced last year (Wasn't leaking). So I removed the secondary air pump and left side check valve with a couple air hoses then put some JB plastic weld and add a thin metal plate for extra strength. Its been working fine. If this brake again later, will replace the manifold. I just wanted to see how long it can handle..... Btw, the best video on the TH-cam. RESPECT !!!
Y J, Thanks for your kind words. I'm in Japan at the moment and want to take my time reply to you. I'll be back home next week to turn around going to Europe for six weeks and with me grand kids come to US for summer. In the mean time if you have a question please don't hesitate call and ask for Nathan. The number is at the front of the video. Sayonara, Sam

In my 2008 SLK280 R171, I have confirmed the broken plastic part with an inspection camera. However, no CEL, but the code is p2006. How much should I expect to pay at an independent mechanic to fix it? Should I just replace the broken part or the whole manifold?
if its the original 2008 manifold, i'd suggest changing the whole manifold. especially if the lights been on for a long time
We have discussed this matter several times in this comment section. Again I suggest replacing the the old intake manifold. The labor should be 4 hours plus materials and taxes.
I have to change the intake manifold on my 2011 E350 and your video is a great tutorial. One question I have is that the vacuum line that is in the front of the intake manifold was replaced by the tech because the original one was worn...what size vacuum line did you use for this? Thanks
Dylon, Please check my answer to Adam A below. He had the same question.
@@mbhmercedes-benz7822 Thanks again!
what about the m271 ebgine, where are the flaps
Mine is stuck closed.. Does it still move back and forth if its broken? Asking because i want to know if its the sensor or not
Replace the intake manifold.
This video was excellent! I have a 2011 R350 with this issue, and after watching this video I'm sure I can tackle this with ease! Thank you for your detailed information!
Keep us informed.
Thanks for going into such detail. I am going to do this on my 2007 E550 and I am much more confident having your video on-hand to reference. I have 142k miles and will replace the fuel injectors as well.
David, I would not change the injectors unless you know for sure that they are not good. Just Use a can of liqui Moly injector cleaner or BG44K. For any reason You have to change the injectors I suggest it to be done in two separate operations, so in case You have a problem such as the engine running rough afterward, you won't be confused whether it's related to the injectors or the intake manifold. I have pretty much explained everything in that video and I left nothing to be guessed or questioned. Good luck.
