Spent the week diving all over florida froms Devil's Den, to West Palm and down to Key Largo. Also did some skydiving in Homestead. Great time got to see so much sea life to include my first shark encounter on my first night dive.
im guessing the fuck! is because he just cut away a 4000 dollar parachute that hell never see again
i was just in this plane last week!
Well done. Glad you didn't forget to include obscenities first...part of proper IE.😊
I don't know how u ppl even jump there, I see very little outs
This makes me less nervous about cutaways. You seemed to keep your composure well. I have only skydived once and for some reason im much more nervous for the second jump. You just cant comprehend the intensity before you do it.
Have you gotten any dives in since? You're exactly right imo. The second time is the hardest, but it's all up from there!!
Still actually safer than a motorcycle.
When you cut your lines where does the other chute go?
U need to learn to pack better 2?? Ive done 1134 never cut
I've landed a couple step throughs in my time.
Looks like it was totally preventable. It looks like it was packed that way. Please walk your brake lines to the tail. Should be thousands of jumps between malfunctions. Little zippy canopies are less forgiving.
You could have just cut that line with the hook knife
@cameraflyer saves having the main repaired
looks like a sloppy pack job to me.
Shit-Who the hell spotted that jump? A blind person? Good cut away-Those lines looked nasty. Also, pay attention to the wind indicators after you open. Blue Skies!
Who packed the parachute...you or a packer? I think I know the answer to that question. Either learn to pack a parachute correctly or always hire a packer.
I know maybe dumb but why cant anyone say they got back the main? I feel like its a incomplete story.
Всё правильно сделал.
There seem to be an awful lot of TH-cam videos of line twists and malfunctions of squares...I only jumped a square twice (no problems), but I only had one malfunction and cutaway with my PC when I speed- packed it to hurry and make a lift...what's up with these squares?
Excellent response to a line over.
Body position caused this malfuntion.
Did you have an RSL or MARD? Seemed like quite a long time between main cutaway and reserve inflation
I've read that the rule of thumb is that you need to cut away if you can't fix the main chute in five seconds.
That depends. If it's not opening, looks bad or is spinning, just chop it. If it's stable, then look at your altimeter. If you're above two grand you have a little time to mess with it. But if you're down to two grand, chop it.
Shame you can’t cut away the first 2 minutes of nothing
But did you get your chute back?
Who lined this canopy?
DEVIN!!!! What's up, man!?
Jacob Kelderhouse whats up
Instabil Jump...you got your canopy back?
Someone didn't do a line check. Step through.
I am not a skydiver please excuse my ignorance but how many sec between cutting away and releasing the reserve in this case and altitude. It seems Thanks
Usually about 1 second. The reserve takes a couple of seconds to fully deploy and inflate, as you can see in the video. Some situations result in a longer time between cutaway and reserve deployment, if the jumper wants more separation.
Crazy stuff man
Glad you cam back to DZ haha. Did you foumd your main in all this trees?
Hey. Can I use this video for educational purpose on FB? I'll link up your youtube channel. ;)
Skydive Vibes go for it
Perfect ! Well done
Definitely made the right call chopping it...slider could have came down a couple hundred feet..anything could have happened..nice work..just pack better👌
Awesome video. Going back next year sure :-)
Did my first 15000 tandem on Thursday! And starting my solo course soooon! Love it! No other feeling like it. You do know it takes a lot longer to pack that second chute!..bit selfish if you ask me! Lmao ;)
15,000 tandem jumps?
@@Kwisatz_HaderachXIII 15000 feet. it’s a common height for first tandem jumps
Suggerisco un corso intensivo di ripiegamento
You need to learn to trim videos and to pack. In that order.
Why did your main canopy have RED toggles on it??? I would guess it was lack of detail, same as the pack job.
Why it shouldn't? Mine are red, too. It depends on the manufacturer and some allow to choose between different colors.
Fuck you
I don't mean to be snooty but as a paraglider this does not look bad at all
what is LEGO?
So close
Looks like a step through. I literally just had the same thing. It also looks like you might have to say goodbye to that canopy if it lands in all them trees you got around. Good job on staying cool.
Wow Your dropzone is completely surrounded by trees and it looks like there's almost no outs in less you're a highly skilled skydiver and you can land in a small area.
dochayes1 = My Point Exactly!!! If he hadn't messed with his slider, and lines his canopy would have been safe to land as was. For all you new, young skydivers... I learned to jump as a student without an RSL or AAD!!! Rule of malfunctions... Better to land with what you got than what you haven't got. (That refers to lo pulls mainly). Nevertheless, people cut away today for too many paranoid reasons, like line twists!!! For everyone out there, Including Performance Designs.......... Stowing Brakes IS NOT, for Soft openings!!!!! Stowing Brakes are for 2 reasons! And neither has to do with causing or preventing malfunctions at deployment. 1) = In case a skydiver opens face-to-face with another jumper, at half brakes she has more time to pull the right riser to avoid a collision. 2) if the jumper opens unconsciousness or with line twists = cannot steer the canopy! Then the canopy AT LEAST flies at 1/2 velocity, given zero winds... So the jumper can land safely with a PLF! At this Jumper's Video in question: What I was stating is: That if he had simply left the Canopy as was, he could have landed it safely with a PLF!!!! Are all of you who keep replying to my advice, that naive or obtuse actually believe that No One has ever died from a Cut-Away???? or from a Reserve Malfunction???? News Flash commenter's! Nothing in Skydiving or Life guarantees absolutely Safety! Especially a Reserve Canopy! I have been in the sport for 31 years now! And have only ever gotten injured from Skydiving at TSC in Japan twice (on my knees and pelvis / hip ) due to avoiding immature and in-properly trained Japanese skydivers, who frequently make bad decisions such as Gauntlets and panic attacks at final, causing me to veer off and hard landing to avoid a life threatening injury for both of us. However, with regards to Malfunctions.... I only have had 1 cut away, without a Steven's Lanyard, (RSL) in 1989 due to an FXC Fire and double deployment with Round Phantom Reserve!!! All other Malfunctions, including ruptured steering lines, I have never gotten injured at landing nor freaked out and went right away into a cut away!!! Also, the ONLY PURPOSE of All Canopies is to: Provide Drag to slow down your descent and soften your landing! That's all. In this Video, His Canopy, was Providing Drag, Lift, 1/2 Brakes, And Was Fully Deployed and Flying Straight! For all You "instant cut away supporters" who don't believe me: Try Joining the US Army Airborne Infantry!!! There they all Jump with the SAME SIZE CANOPIES, regardless of Body Weight, and Carry at least an extra 160 pounds worth of Gear.... And guess what? They cannot Steer or Swoop, Slow-down or land their canopies softly, and Always land at an Angle, mostly sideways or backwards!!!! Especially the F1-11 Dash 1, and T-10 Canopies, that I jumped for almost 20 years!!!! PLF's Can save lives!!!! Try it some time!!!! Safety overrides your pride! And it's always better to land, with grass and dirt stains on your gear, than blood stains!!! Golden Knights!
There's a reason you're not an instructor...
T
the legend is that canopy is still in a tree somewhere and it a STILL has a step through
Meh -- needs more trains
How many skydives have you had in total?
How come there were no Butt shots of Steven?
remember emergency procedures ! first scream OH FUCK then cut away scream fuck again then ride the reserve with a follow up fuck , when you hit the ground then one final fuck lmao
The first thing I did upon landing was to call my rigger & thank her.
Did you find your parachute?
Den Konoplin ya. It was up in a tree. Took me about 4 hours to get it down. Not fun
but it is better than to lose it :)
