Probability on the Sonicware Lofi12XT
Hi there, thanks for watching! In this video I go over how to use the probability (dice) settings on the Sonicware Lofi12XT. This feature lets you adjust the percent chance that a note will play on for each track. You can also combine this with parameter locks to get some interesting sequences, which I cover in the “use cases” portion of the video. Enjoy!

Advanced Synthesis with Midi on the Sonicware Lofi12XT

Hi there, thanks for watching! In this video I go over a sound design technique when using the Sonicware Lofi 12XT as a wavetable synthesizer. By having multiple tracks receive midi notes on the same channel from an external controller, you can set up a multi-voice synth patch and control parameters for each voice independently. Hello Jay, All your Lofi xt videos have been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO usefull. I thank you a lot for that. I have another question : in the manual p126 I read that : Lofi-12 XT can not only use USB and external input audio for sampling, but also use them as tracks. What would you say “use them as tracks” means ? Does it mean that I can set a track as "Ext in" and not a sample ? And then treat it as a track ? If so, I failed to do so ... any idea ? 🙂

    Awesome find on the microtiming in the table! I just tried it out as well. You can also move the hop to the first row (and fill the gap with the TIC command), and then in the FX2 you can add the RNL (I left the first digit at 0 and then the second digit to the maximum row you want it to jump to). Then it will add a random microtime without having to specify the THO in the Phrase. I was also trying out your other technique I saw in one of your other videos where you change the start time of the slices, I like that one as well. I have some multisampled drumkits, and then I change the start time for each slice and in the table I add a RNL, then it randomly plays a sample where each sample has a slightly different sound and microtime. I was also trying to find a way to combine both the random slice and microtiming in the table but I haven't found a way yet so for now if I combine those I'll just put one in the phrase and the other in the table. In any case, for some instruments it is nice to have more free columns in the table to do some ducking.

    Quick question, it seems I'm having problems when I import my samples into the convert folder, they don't show up or sound. But then if they do show up, you have to update the file data every time you turn on the unit for the samples to show up. Have u had this problem? If so had did u fix it? Any suggestions

      when i use the convert function from the project menu, the files usually end up at the bottom of the sample list. and they stay there between power cycles and when i load different projects. no issues hearing them either. are you using the convert function, or are you copying samples directly into the pool/project folders?

    Is it possible to just copy a basic drum pattern several times and chain them together then just record all sample chop arrangements, bassline and extras on top of the entire thing?

    • @Jay_Maculate
      @Jay_Maculate 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@fredicagoillanoise1309 yeah totally! To copy the sequenced steps you just have hold the function button down while turning the knob that controls length of the pattern on the CFG page. Then you can add your other parts on other tracks

      @Jay_Maculate btw, what's the difference between overwrite and save options in sample editor?

    • @Jay_Maculate
      @Jay_Maculate 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@LordQiuu good question! "save" will give you the option of saving the file in a new folder. Think of it like "save as" on a computer - good for making copies. Overwrite skips the prompt for where to save the file and just saves it where it is currently
