Found Expensive DJI Drone While Fishing
While fishing the flats for flathead the other day I found a DJI drone. Looks like it was crashed and submerged for a while. Happy to return it to its owner, so if it's yours leave me a comment and I can get it back to you. Unfortunately I don't think it can be salvaged
Oh the fishing was also pretty good.

How To Catching Snapper and Flathead in Moreton Bay
มุมมอง 2.9K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
The aim was to head out early to catch feed of Snapper in Moreton Bay. The fish were biting early which made for some fun. Next steps pick up the kids and see if we can get them catching their first fish on a lure. Didn't take too long before they both hooked up on some nice flathead. Great day had with some delicious Snapper and Flathead fillets sourced for dinner that night. If you are intere...

Is this Moreton Bay ? I lost my dji mini 4 pro a couple of months ago there it had sandisk 128gb sd card in it.
Hey mate yes was Moreton Bay where abouts you loose it? I will go grab it and check what sd card was in it
I was a tourist there so I might be mistaken but it was the Ted Smout memorial bridge or Houghton highway bridge that I was trying to capture.@@ScaleUpadventures
@@ScaleUpadventureslost the signal and it just went away to be never seen again.
@kapii3118 hey mate that sucks. Just looks this one has a 32gb disc in it
@@ScaleUpadventures yeah this sucks, thanks anyway tho.
George fist class content and presentation. You have certainly motivated me to get out there;-)
Thank you. That's so nice to hear that feedback. Hopefully, you can get out this long weekend
Imagine those fish were feeding on the body
Not sure that's something I want to imagine. It was a hot bite that day strangely enough
Love your work mate. Have only recently started fishing for topwater whiting as an alternative to catching beach worms. Loving it so far. Give the MMD Splash Prawn a try with some Small sized assist hooks on the rear (if you haven’t already). Great QLD company based on the Gold Coast. Let me know if you ever venture up the Bruce to the Sunshine Coast 🐟 I’m always keen for a flick.
Cheers mate. I actually just purchased some assist hooks to replace the trebles. I gave it a go earlier this week, but still a bit early in the season, all the whiting I spotted were face down, not interested in surface. I'm very keen to head up sunny coast to chase some whiting need to sus out some spots. normly up that way chasing bass and jacks
If no one claims it I’ll take it for parts
How is the plastic bead hitting the knot any less aggressive than the plastic slider hitting it?
Great question. The hole on the plastic bead is a lot smaller than the hole on the slider. I find the slider gets jammed on the knot fairly often. Also, I failed to point out in the video that those plastic beads are made out of a soft rubber material. Probably shouldn't have called them plastic.
I lost mine, does it have the SD in it ? If so, if it’s got whale footage it’s mine and I’d be stoked you found it
Hello it does have an sd card in it . I have had a look but it looks empty. How long ago did you loose is? Where abouts and do you recall the sd card make and size in GB?
Thats why i have my number on the side of mine.. so many near misses. 😅
That's a very good idea. I'm looking at getting one I will do that for sure
You can use the intestine of a tilapia as bait
Realy never knew that.
Is this idea similar to the pully rig?
Not exactly slightly different. With this method your hook is still lied to your main line in a straight line. Woth your sinker off a dropper and slider
nothing on the news about this... when was it?
Was around mid-June this year.
@ScaleUpadventures that's horrible... sorry it happened to you. Is that redcliffe? Lived there for 17yrs.. scary stuff
Yeah was definitely a bit of a shock. It was redcliffe the bridge that goes from Brighton to redcliffe.
great info
Thank you
insane i have fished there a few times and never seen a tuna caught off there. Tailor and flathead yes but that was insane
👍
Too much BS. 😂. Use bubble / ball float. It harvests alligator gears and or garnish. Too much vocals 😂
you smoking to much weed mate this vid is not about alligator gar its about garfish totally different fish
@jojobus6354 dude. I know. I am in Australia. I call 1 meter garfish, alligator garfish, but our garfishes here can be like little marlins. LOL 😆. BTW dude ? How do you know I smoke " too much weed", ? Settle down dickkk 😀
After reading your comment I thought you must be an expert, so decided to check out your channel. To say I was disappointed would have been a huge understatement. Concentrate on getting more the 30 views on your own videos before criticizing others.
Hey thanks for leaving a comment. However don't really follow what you're trying to say.
Another youtuber found a body in a small river in the States. I'm amazed at the number of bodies that are found every year.
Yeah it's pretty common actually. I suppose people fishing are go to some creeks and streams that no many other would.
These fish are also called "St. Peter's Perch," because these were being fished in the region during Christ's & Peter's time and before. They are even here in Southern California, and the local Ospreys eat them regularly, and they never run out of Tilapia as a food source. The ones you caught with the red-edged fins are Mozambique Tilapias.
Ohhh thanks. I have heard of them called mozambique name before. St Peter's Perch is a new one to me. They definitely breed in big numbers
What area is that?
I say the area a couple of times on the video 👍
@@ScaleUpadventures ok thank you 🙏, what are some tips to fish there? Is it good for tailor or fishing with bait?
@Grechyyy to be honest was my first time fishing with lures there. I have heard yoy can get tailor bream and flathead there. I think the Mac tuna was a bit of a fluke. Fishes better at night for bream and whiting .
@@ScaleUpadventures okay thank you 🤩 Love the vid by the way, hope to see some more local fishing videos, keep it up 👍
@Grechyyy appreciate it. THank you
Tilapia taste good, so I don't see them as being a problem.
In Australia they cause problems with native fish habitat and competing with them. They don't want people eating them because they fear people would them spread them into other waterways.
@@ScaleUpadventures That makes sense.
Yeah they taste good. Their dumb reasoning for not eating them can get jammed I think. Ide never spread them, nor would any decent fisherman. Marine biologists are not psychologists.
@TarrickChristensen I tend to agree mate. The places I catch them I probably wouldn't want to watch them but hopefully in the near future they relax the laws a bit. They have spread pretty much everywhere with the floods we have had last couple of years. Getting fisherman out targeting them will help control their numbers.
awesome sesh bro
Thank you
Me and my mate were riding home off the bridge and on our way we see a bunch of stuff just abandoned with a pair of thongs and there phone or wallet the night before
Yeah I've heard of a few incidences from that bridge. They normly don't make the news
I found a floating corpse at Tipplers passage, Jumpinpin early one morning in 1980 . Reported it to the staff at the resort which was there at the time. It was a lady murdered by her husband on a houseboat. As a 16 yr old with my 14 yr old brother with me it was the lengthy delay before we could resume fishing which irked us.
Ahhh geez that's pretty full on. Not a great experience. I was very glad not to have my kids fishing with me on board that day
It was covered in foam so it took a bit of prodding and wiping some of it off before we were sure.
@cliftonjones5431 ohhhh geez that be a shock for you at the time, I'm sure. I was also a bit taken back when I noticed the person was missing a head.
Great video mate. Ive fished many times at that spot but never expected a tuna lol
Thanks mate. I was pretty surprised. I was thinking I might get a Tailor but not a Tuna in that shallow water.
@@ScaleUpadventures I found out that many pelagic species swim in shallow to eat bait so ill have to give it a crack next time, cheers
@busykid7277 soon as you see baitfish getting chased grad a metal slug
Good Vid. Great catch
Cheers thank you
Thousands of them in Bramble Bay the past month, I was getting them on the BFS gear a few weeks ago.
Nice they are good fun on light gear
In Hawaii we call that kawakawa
Do you guys eat them? We don't regard them very good eating here and tend to let them go or just use for bait
we call em bonita down here in south florida
Ohh nice. We also have a fish here we call bonito a little different to the one I caught on here
@@ScaleUpadventures yea that’s an atlantic bonito, they are skinnier i think and way better eating. easy to confuse the 2
great fun on light tackle what line class were you using?
Thanks mate. Think it was only 8lb braid and 10lb leader. Normly, my flathead set up
Thanks so much. Now that you told us what you use, I'll tell you what works in So Cal: redworms for Tilapia. People would pay us for the redworms we brought because they could not catch anything with the bait they were using. Redworms, honestly.
Yeah they definitely love worms . I was just using earthworms dugg out of my garden that seemed to work great
@@ScaleUpadventures Thanks for your reply. Subscribed!
Ah man they taste so good in poke bowl
Long tail yes no too sure about Macs though.
Question? How long should the line with the swivel sinker be in length? Also, how long should the line be with the hook on it? Please explain. Thanks in advance. 😊
Hi Mate. That's a little hard to answer as it all depends on a number of factors. Two most important things to consider is the species of fish you are targeting and how timid or aggressive they are. 2nd is the surf conditions. I always try and use as long a leader to hook and between sinker swivel as I can. About 3 foot for each or as long as I can cast. Strong currents and surf will give you a lot of issues with tangles. So if that's the case I then cut down my leader to hook until I stop getting tangles.
hey mate, at what point of the tide was this?
Can't realy remember to be honest. I think it was close to high tide.
ouch look out for those teeth
Luckily it was only a small one and he let go pretty quick
Nice! Went to Hell's today and nothing... 2h drive and not even a Tailor!
Up at Noosa? I've done a few trips this year down to goldcoast for 🍩. A fair few in the Bay, though
@@ScaleUpadventures Yeah up in Noosa. I may go down south to F spot later on see if getting close to the water is easy ish. A bit annoying that there are no rocks around Brisbane
Good luck. They are getting a few of the seaway I hear.
Where in Sydney can I catch leatherjacket
Pretty much anywhere of Sydney harbour. Try Peter and bridge pylons . Or any rocky reef areas
Swansea
Bread is the best
Definitely wasn't on this trip. Tried it they wouldn't go near it. Soon as I tried worms I caught like 4 or 5 in an hour
@@ScaleUpadventures with bread I caught 30 yesterday
@Theebasssboyss that's awesome 👌
I have tried heaps with bread and can’t entice them, though I have heard they fire up more in summer so I’m looking forward to trying more with bread soon.
@@Bigrig90 around 9am-3pm they are more active and hungry
hey mate where was the spot you were fishing?
Around Brisbane
Great content brother, got yourself a new subscriber.. we have a similar problem with them in Florida, USA lol
Thanks mate. You guys also have some other pretty cool invasive fish like snake head and peacock bass.. I bet they are great fun to catch.
@@ScaleUpadventures Many invasive problems here lol and they fight quite hard, I find them more fun to catch than the natives..Australia has some very cool native fish though like the Barramundi that I bet are pretty darn fun to catch as well, didnt even know you guys had the same problem with tilapia though lol
@dragonthebetta7193 Barra are amazing fun to catch. I am holding one up on the channels page logo. Murray Cod are also a great native fish. I've got a couple of vids on my channel of me catching some on spinner baits. Yeah Tilapia are a problem more in Queensland further south it gets too cold for them.
@@ScaleUpadventures ahh that’s awesome I didn’t notice it was a barra lol congrats on that nice one, and Murray cod look crazy fun to catch, big fish too from the images on google..I’ll certainly check those vids out, and out here it’s kind of similar, they’re really only a problem in my state and Texas due to the warm climate although they can survive pretty North from there, pretty hardy fish they are, just not the best fighters in the world lol
I searched for Leather jackets as they give me so many great memories of when I was a kid fishing the Brisbane Water, many, many years ago. Thank you.
They are still great fun to catch even for adults. And such a cool and interesting fish to look at.
wow I have always fished for squid at night.
Night is normly when i fish for them but if I ever spit them during the day, I had to have a go at catching some.
great knot
Yum Great catch. How did you cook them?
Thank you. Slat and pepper squid. Always a go to at home
what's your best recipe for these?
Waste of good meat we love them here
I tend to agree with you although I wouldn't be too keen eating them out of this pond, to be honest.
Great to see some Landbased content!!! Thanks a lot!
Not a problem. Even though I have a boat, I find im fishing landbased more often.
Nice
Which area is that?
Down goldcoast way
getting a fair few off snapper point just watch you don't hook a surfer. they fight well but not worth the trouble
@user-md8fx8yl8m 🤣
I like the running sinker rig when using braid. It saves having to tie your leader to the braid. It’s a massive time saver in the ocean.
Can definitely be useful to do at times
they were probably going to come to you and prescribe some relaxing activity like hiking or fishing for your PTSD and then they see you unphased and still fish, they probably guess you are Okay!
Yeah possibly they did look over my way and I was pulling in a flathead so luckily i was all good.
I just threw up all over the carpet 🤮
Quick go see a doctor.
