Using a bottle of wing sauce, a bottle of ranch, 3lbs of boiled boneless skinless chicken thighs and a box of cooked penne noodles, I mixed it all together and sprinkled some Italian cheese on top and baked it on 400 degrees for 20 mins. It was so easy even a rookie firefighter could cook it.

    Acouple things he could’ve done to conserve his energy. “All core/waist, No homeruns” w/ sledge hammer. Take a squat position on ceiling breach. Let your legs do the work rather than arm. Then angle/shift the pole and let your body do the pulling.

      Its a 50 pound vest and then two 12.5 pound shoulder strap weights, for a total of 75 pounds. For the rate of the stair sets I think it's 60 steps per minute

      @chilout2496 it depends on if you are trying to become a career Firefighter or starting out as a volunteer. If you are looking to volunteer you can contact a local fire department with a volunteer program. They will put you through an academy. If you are wanting to start out as a career Firefighter and don't have a fire science degree you might want to look into colleges with a structural fire science program.

    That helmet is not doing him any favors 🤣. I did my CPAT two weeks ago without any practice and got 8:10, I’m impressed but didn’t know there was a competition for doing more than pass or fail.

    The longest 3 minutes of my life. The mental stress is serious here. It makes you want to quit and try the next time. All these thoughts were running through my head. But your muscles are stronger than your thoughts so keep moving.

      Just passed mine today I know exactly what you mean 😂. Soon as I got off the stair master I wanted to turn to the guy and say “I’m done”. But I thought about how my dad would call me a “pussy” so I tricked all the way through finished in 9:02.

      @@paranoidcricket7093 . If I remember correctly, they count you down the last 5 seconds of the stairmill portion. If I'm wrong, I can 100% say that they tell you when the time is up by allowing you to hold on to the rail to step off. The stairmill shuts off as well. You won't be confused.

    So im about to take the CPAT. Ive been working out for 2 years now and im 5’10 175 lbs. im pretty confident in this test but the only question i have is about the sledgehammer. I heard you have to hit 50 times. Is it not?

      I took the CPAT in New York City November 2022. No way. 50 Times is so inaccurate. I hit it about 8 times and the buzzer went off.

      No, it's not easy because they have to wear a 50 pound vest, and wear an extra 25 pounds on the step master. The extra weight is what makes all the difference.

    First time I did it I got DQ’d because I lost balance on the stairs with only 40-seconds to go. I’m 6’ 2” and 230 lbs and I never had been on a stair master before. Only had a week to get ready for the next attempt and wore my 50lb vest every time I was on the stair master at the gym in preparation for the following week. My next attempt was a success. Completed the CPAT in 8 minutes and 54 seconds. I’m amazed at how some men and women can complete it in 8 minutes or less!

      @@indigofrappuccino5268. Ladder control was pretty marginal as well as ceiling breach pike pole placement issues. Also you know the FE setting is too low when a candidate does it in 2-3 hits. No untrained person can do that on the proper setting; I don’t care how much “talent” you have. It’s just proof that the setting wasn’t right. (And Yes, I believe that a trained professional athlete - maybe a baseball player or one of those Stihl Timbersports guys - might be able to get down to 4, or even 3, hits on the FE. But not a 19-year-old. Sorry.)

      It's all on how you hit it. Match that with strength, and it can be done in 3. You don't need to be an athlete.

      @@kennethr4111 it’s 3:20. 20 second warm-up period at 50 steps/minute and then 3 minutes at 60 steps/minute.

    Couple things. Foot was outta the hose box, ladder control was not maintained and safety system caught it, maul was tossed. All violations. Dummy drag advice - Face direction of travel, 1 hand drag and go…way less taxing that backwards baby step shuffle. Almost 38 and just finished my 2nd ever with 1:45 to spare. Fitness matters.

    Just took mine today and passed it. It was kind of difficult, and I bet some of the guys there would have thought I was going to fail. I’m not the most muscular guy and I’m 5,4 feet and 135 pounds. That’s kind of small. But I didn’t give up, always remember why you do what you do, never give up, you can do it.       @@GhostyGhost7007 I think having good cardiovascular condition really helps. Since we are small we need to use more energy than other bigger individuals, so having good endurance will help. Running, rowing should help. Also trying to do lift weight can help, specially for the legs, the stairs get your legs tired but just take it easy and control your breathing. It’s exhausting but not impossible, you got this 👍🏽 never give up

      The one you have on the entire time is 50lbs. The first 3 mins and 20 seconds on the stairclimber weigh and additional 25lbs.

    Where Im doing mine they would have disqualified you for letting the ladder slam at the top and you wouldve gotten a warning for throwing the sledge hammer. Nice job though, haulin ass with the dummy at first!

      Also with the last event. If you miss or don’t complete a rep you have to make up for it with an extra one and if you miss it twice it’s a fail.
