Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were brilliant and as soon as they (Disney) decided to depart from the storyline having no anchor like Stan they started to crater. As to the whole Infinity Gauntlet saga it started departing from the storyline. The was no Adam Worlock, Silver Surfer, Mephisto, Death and Deadpool. DP, Death and Thanos love triangle was pivotal in the foundation for the reason why Thanos wanted the Gauntlet. Much like the latest "Snow White" when you try rewriting the story, even calling it by the same name is going to raise some eyebrows if not get you tared & feathered and run out on a rail. Try that with Shakespeare; unless you follow the plot line and modernize it, expect the same result. Epic failure and/or steady decline into obscurity.

Dark Phoenix supposed to be bad However, it's 1 of the best X-men Flicks considering the limited time Fox head making film. The Phoenix Saga is 3 📽 story in itself. NOT EVEN THE GREAT MCU can make a 📽 with a 1 film.picture deal

It's not too hard of a question to answer. Disney got greedy. Instead of developing stories, they treated the movies and shows like products to roll off an assembly line to meet their quarterly goals. They kept pumping out so much and distributing stories across different media that the public inevitably started to lose interest. If you have to watch a sub-par TV show and three movies this year to understand why everything is different in the next Avengers, sooner or later you'll stop considering it worth the effort. It didn't help that they let so many different creatives helm various projects that the quality varied wildly. Something that compounded until the movies as a whole started falling apart. The whole project got too big and was managed too poorly because Disney thought they had an infinite money generator. Same as they did with Star Wars, though it was at least managed better than the train wreck that is Disney Lucasfilm.

I don't know, seeing RDJ coming back as Doom made me want to watch the newer stuff LESS. Something about him being such a cool character as Doom, but with the face of Iron Man just sits wrong to me. If they brought him back I'd rather him have just been an 'alternate Tony' instead of Doom.

I'll tell you what went wrong they didn't stick to the formula, instead of using chemical x they use potpourri.

I would say they did not have any magic at all they are just generic movies that have the same plot.

I was never a fan of the Avengers but, parking the Phoenix saga, the X-Men alone could easily carry it forward. They could have a main X-Men movie and then a 'solo' movie focusing on one X-Man but featuring others in support, like Captain America: Winter Soldier. Just taking the Fall of the Mutants alone, you have one movie to re-establish the X-Men and Morlocks, a Gambit intro movie, then the Marauders Massacre, then a side movie on Muir Island dealing with the injuries (in the comics this was Angel, Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, and Colossus), maybe introduce Betsy and Banshee here, possibly throwing in Doom, the FF, and/or Proteus. Then a side movie as the remaing X-Men replace injured team members. Then Angel dies and we move onto the Four Horsemen story, including Cable, and then as a finale do the Age of Apocalypse as a 2 movie capstone.

I honestly can't wait to see Alien: Earth

Marvel didn't die. People just cant get over the fact that the old characters are gone. It was supposed to change. Robert was Iron man for over a decade.

Streaming exasperated their issues too cause now they gotta pump out content to pad out a service largely upheld by old movies and shows.

The Batman and The Penguin made me realize that the MCU has always been stale and generic. Even the animated shows are better than the MCU. How the MCU was the biggest franchise in Hollywood is beyond me.

Should have ended the storyline after endgame, every movie had been slowly building up to it

I personally feel like in terms of overall quality and entertainment, the MCU scratched the surface and peaked with Avengers: Endgame, considering it was the perfect culmination and payoff of 11 years and 22 movies of interconnected storytelling, buildup, and world building. This is what happens when you have a clear focus and a clear story. It pays off perfectly in the finale. Marvel nowadays, just lacks it now, considering that most of phases 4-5 feel so aimless and poorly planned, given the terrible decisions made with Disney+. The saga started off pretty decent, but fell off hard as it is progressing, and over half of the future projects, I’m pretty worried and skeptical about. Brave new world for example, I’m hearing nothing but bad news about it, given the reshoot situation. The trailers look well-edited, but according to test screening results and reports, it’s failing even after reshoots, which feels like a major red flag. Aside from all that, great analysis!

Awesome breakdown! I loved the first 4 phases! Watching those movies in theaters was such an awesome experience. I’m ready for the comeback!!!

It still has its magic. They just didn't use it right. BUT.... They are now using the right magic for fantastic four, avengers doomsday, spiderman 4, avengers secret wars.

I feel like part of the reason you had never heard of those tv shows is because unless you are making big bucks, Netflix doesn't give much PR to its content. My favorite Netflix show Lockwood and Co could have made Netflix more money if they had given it more PR instead of hiding it like they did.
