From someone that has done that tool grid system in the newer version of that same tool box with an added row of drawers so I have 2 complete socket drawers one ase and the other metric it is a lot of work but best system I have found in my 34 years of being a memechanic
I also did my ratchet drawer with the tool grid. But I used wrench organizers from Ernest to do my 2 wrench drawers they seem to work the best for fitting most in the space
Has anyone counted how many times he says “super” during the video?
I’ll bet money there’s a lien on that box and possibly on those tools, hence why you got it cheap….. i’ve seen this many times, and people get wrecked after they thought they got a deal and a bailiff shows up with the tool truck dealer. good luck.
As a guy who has too many tools, I found that having too many of the same sizes and similar tools made my drawers feel cluttered. When I organized my sockets I had 4 - 11mm and no 10's so I completed the runs and then removed all the extras. now I can tell when my son or father in law uses my tools because the are not put back.
Some input from an old wrench turner about this system. First thing, put dead rows between your short sockets. You get older and you have plenty of joint and arthritis issues and you just cannot grab them so close together. The biggest issue with Olsa's system is identifying the sizes. Eyesight definitely doesn't get better with age and you want to be able to get what you need first time. There are a few systems that have clear size indicators that protrude through the sockets. Cannot beat them! Olsa labels are TERRIBLE! The do not stay put. The plastic mounts have a little texture to them and the stickers have poor adhesive. Couple this with those of us who coat our tools to prevent rust and they'll all fail in no time. They really need to change the design to tiles where you can read the size and it's permanent. Now the way you can organize ratchets and extensions is on of the best I have need and used! However, there’s also better for wrenches and pliers. Just like all of them, none of the systems make a single, solid organization solution. Mixing and matching is key for a box that not only looks good, but works good.
Dial caliper indicator kit. The vise grips are to hold it in place. Used to measure runout in rotors, hubs, etc.
Excellent setup. The tool grip seems to be especially good for sockets and ratchets. So much of the value of having tools is in their organization, and it's like therapy for me. There is nothing quite like the majesty of perfect rows of sockets and wrenches.
The One thing I don’t like is the ability to grab a whole set of sockets.. I often just grab a whole set of say 1/4” shallows and a ratchet and walk to my truck or trailer or whatever I’m working on since I’ll be dealing with multiple sizes.
Nice job
Beautiful
Nice Series I did a very very Similar Journey and have to say one of your commenters said - “A mans life laid bare”. True. Wish I had watched your vid first I had Same Journey- -The amount of stuff I had to throw away. Mystery car parts and brackets and stuff only the original owner knows. It was allot and it was heavy - multiple weeks to keep from over whelming the trash service. -Multiple folding tables to just process and sort. -Quickly purchased the same products of evaporust and large ultrasonic parts cleaner. -Sorting and puzzle reconstruction. -Finding best products for the cleaned tools. I landed on ‘Renaissance Wax Polish’ but I like the Black Oxide stuff you used in the vid better! I think I would still use the R wax Polish but after the Black Oxide. -Ordering missing pieces to complete the sets. -Also I know you did not cover the amount of cleaning down and re-cleaning down everything it took to clean it all 😂.
Looks like they are or have never been used at the end
1:03 who makes those green socket rails?
Silver and Grey sockets... You mean regular and impact? Omg man.
Where on earth did you find a factory new front bumper? I am jealous. Hook me up brotha!
"american or metric"... "American" is actually called imperial
True, or SAE, but America is one of only a few countries that uses it, and the most represented on youtube from what I've seen and the most well known for it. It's not technically correct, but not really inaccurate either?
True. And it’s never used in modern automotive repair unless you work on old turds
nice and clean😍
Blue is metric red is standard
Jackpot!!!!!!
Amazing work. 👏
I wonder what happened to the man that owned these tools? He obviously was a master tech. Bad wife? The heartless economy? It's a freaking mine field out there. America has turned into a bucket of crabs, praying that man is okay.
Huge gaps between sockets. Always something wrong with organizers.
I only have one word---SUPER!
Oh that's NICE of you to say.
Hey boo boo! Let us check out this toolbox… aheeheehee!
Well done! Where ya get the magnetic labels?
Cool! Well Done Thank You For Sharing
UM stickers better be aviation quality or they will fail
Neon green sae
Great video and I love the product!
Hood win for ya! Whomever sold it, was a massive slob though.
I checked out your video. I've noticed that your TH-cam channel might be experiencing some issues in the SEO section, which could impact your views & subscriber growth and significantly boost CTR. Would you like some assistance in fixing everything?
You need merch that says "super" (your welcome)
Super Happy with that!!! 😳
Great video, there’s no American sockets, just imperial. Metric and imperial sockets. Keep up the great videos 👍🏻
What a rich bustard...... evil
What undercoating??
Not a bad way to spend $75k! I'm sure I am shooting low even! This was exquisite work! That is now three exclamations in three sentences! Four now, lol. Really though, this is how you do it right. Just beautiful and made to look like it should - unmolested and reborn. Wow!
If you don’t mind me asking how much did you give for your cleaner
Hope you lined the drawers, I like indoor outdoor carpet over the drawer liner kits.
Well it wasnt that bad... Seen worse damage
I love the little black plastic Craftsman tool box..
If it was more organized. There be more space in the massive box. Very nice. I’m sure it was worth what you gave for it.
How much does this cost? 👀
Absolutely sick organizer! Thanks for sharing this and great video!
When you go to move out of that space you will find out why the previous owner unloaded this "great deal" for only $8K. Don't buy and accumulate tools that you don't need. You really need a smaller toolbox because more than half of the tools stored in that one are useless junk.
Some tools are used daily while many tools are needed only once or twice in an entire career and others are used not even once. Used tools and toolboxes are only worth a small fraction of what is paid for them. They are often sold for salvage value by the executor of the estate just to get rid of them so the building can be sold, especially when the executor is from another State and only present for a few days to clear out the property.
this is the only perfect supra
If you ever want to get rid of some of that stuff. I would definitely buy some of that stuff
good
Build cost: $100,000
They're saying $8000 is a good price just for the toolbox alone I think you got to be crazy to put that kind of money into a toolbox unless of course you're a big mechanic I can remember when you could buy three brand new cars for that money. but I suppose that goes without saying Lots of stuff would be sellers on ebay put It in a different perspective to get your $8000 back you've got to have 80 -100 dollar items I know it's simple math but I have to make a profit I wouldn't buy it just for the sake of having it I haven't turned a wrench since 1978 Cool to watch but I'll keep my $8000 in the bank as far as the toolbox goes and it's quite a job to get all the tools in order and cleaned up to make a profit might just as well get a regular job.
For the Love of God, puncutation
