I have never seen a leash on a pole in fresh water, what is the concept behind it? I don't think a trout is going to pull the rod out of your hands. Don't mean any disrespect, just curious.
Thanks for watching! Great question! Ya the reason I put a leash on those certain rods is…they are filled with leadcore line and sink immediately when I accidentally drop them in the water.
@@gregroden8523 gotcha. Thanks for educating me and taking the time to reply
Omg I live here and have watched you for years I have caught a 7 ib channel cat at the spill way and props to you
You live next a Great Lake…congratulations on the 7# catfish!
I'm pretty sure I saw you reel in a bigger lake trout at Gross Reservoir with me. 😁
I think you were reeling in the bigger ones and I was just watching you😎
Nice video! I love fishing up there! Your lure is made by Macks. It is called a wedding ring.
Thanks! I will now refer to it as a wedding ring:) Ya it’s a Great Lake and I’m starting to learn it a little more…I’m thinking I’ll hit it again in the fall.
Nice adventure, need to give the macks a shot sometime soon.
Thanks! Ya I think knowing that there is the possibility of catching a big one really makes them a fun fish to pursue.
Beautiful lake! Good daddy daughter time. I'm sure it was a splake because of the forked tail.
Thanks For the Spake ID Big D! Hope all well!
So fun!!
Great catch!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Attah boy nice trout der welcome to de swamp!

Happy early birthday Mr. Roden. -Your favorite student. Sawyer Brown

Thanks Patrick! It was a great day for sure!
That place is infested with crappies bro! They are over by the dam.
Thanks Bro! I wish I had this tip before the trip🤣🤣
Looks like a saugeye but a beauty!! Good on you for releasing it.
Ya! I was wondering if it could have been a saugeye. Thanks for checking it out!
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Zack!
Wow! Really great time there
It was a great trip! Thanks for watching!
@@gregroden8523 you are welcome!
This is one of the best fishing videos I have ever seen
Thank you! This means a lot!
Congrats on the PB walleye! BTW, drums make great fish tacos. Spring time is the best time to eat them. You should make the Asian tacos next time! Epic multi species day bro.
Thanks big D! Ya i forgot how exactly make those tacos. They were good!
Nice Walleye man and thanks for putting him back! Looks like you had a heck of a day!
Hey thanks for the kind words! Ya definitely not going to keep one that large…in fact I normally don’t keep a lot of my catch at all…just once a year for my fish taco party 😎
i LOVED this video.expecatly the part were i see da fishys. PEASE keep posting i love de videos.😢😮😅😅😂😊😇😜🤣😘🥲🙃🤗😃🤗☺️😂🤪😍😝🤗😶🌫️🙄🤔😔🫨😐🤒🤠🙂↔️🤠🙂↕️🤢🧐😪🤓😱😯😤😩🥹😫
Thanks for the support Conner! I will probably put another one out next week
Awesome bro! My second home. Well, down in the Phoenix area. Good to see you back. Hit me up so we can go to Pueblo!
Thanks big D. Ya that was in the flagstaff area . Would love to hit Pueblo with you this summer!
Nice! This is nick from 8th of last year
Thanks Nick! Hope you are doing well!
In your comeback era
Thanks kyky!!
What speed do you use for trolling Tasmanian Devil?
I like about 1.5-2 mph. Thanks for watching!
Trinidad is a neat little area.
Yes it is! Cant wait to get down there this spring!
Is it true, large mouth bass taste better than small mouth ?? and has a bette4r texture. kinda like lobster almost ! or so Iv heard, is it true ?
I usually let my bass go. But they do taste good!
That bounty is so beyond dumb. Pike aren’t hurting a damn thing in there.
I don’t think the bounty is going to get them out of there any time soon
It’s doing nothing but wasting thousands of dollars
Miss ya
Thanks! B back soon!
I love it man, pike are my favorite fish, I've been chasin master anglers everywhere and have caught a few species but no monster pike. I dont like how people hate such a beautiful fish
Love the big ones! So fun to catch!
Where I’m from solo pheasant hunting means no dog 🐕 cool vid
Thank you mark! Ya I guess having a dog really makes it feel like you are not a lone out there. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Went fishing there in my kayak for the first time in late October. Caught a ton of bluegill, trout, a couple largemouth and even one channel cat, all on my fly rod.
Thanks Kenneth! It’s a fun little lake…lots of possibilities! Thanks for watching!
CKFC tournament is Saturday. Still time to register!
Where?
Nice video! You got a new subscriber. We are going up this weekend. Are you using a steel leader? Worried about pike cutting the line lol.
Hi Bobby, Thanks for the checking out my channel. If you are going after trout I would not worry about wire leaders. You will probably only encounter pike if you are targeting them.
@@gregroden8523 No problem. Love the content. Thanks for the tips!
Good fish good advice.
Thanks MA!
The fish was delish 😁 - Grace's husband
Thanks Eliot! Glad you enjoyed them!
Went to 11mile couple weeks ago couldn’t catch anything from shoe or even the river. Saw some dudes fly fishing and getting luck
11mile can be a tricky lake from shore for sure! I usually do the best in the evenings/nights from shore there.
u work to hard paddling, We just got an electric for my canoe, going to the mile this morning see what happens.
Ya Paul…it’s definitely a workout! Enjoy that motor!
You are a legend
Thanks Amigo!
It was a tough bite this past weekend. Seven and I managed to get a few. They are good eating bro!
The dog days of summer are tough! Got to love that pink meat!
Good info but the camera work and editing made me dizzy. Less = More IMO still gave you a thumbs up tho. Thanks for the info I’m new to 11mile kayak fishing.
Thanks ru9kk: I can always use editing and filming feedback! Glad you found it to be good information!
Epic battle bro! We are camping there this weekend. Looking for my first pike of the year.
They are definitely in there! Good luck!
Love the chaotic battle with the Pike! That kind of thing happens more to me than I care to admit, haha.
Thanks! I have found that the experience is sometimes the most fun part
Looks like a fun day at 11 miles. I can't believe you didn't lose that Pike with all the chaos. . I would have lost it for sure! Tight lines brother.
Thanks Ryan! Yea it was a little stressful for sure 😎
Nice video. I caught a couple nice ones off the dam early this morning with a silver/white shad jerk bait. So much fun!
Great Job! There are some good ones in that lake! Keep on grinding!
This lake sucks it has so much weeds
The weeds are a curse and a blessing. It’s hard to fish with them but they grow big fish. I’ll post a video late summer on how I deal with them. Keep on grinding!
Why don't you have one rod out and that way you don't get tangled
Great question! I use 2 different baits/ colors to see which is wiring better.
Good day Greg. Nothing like standing on the kayak right.
Thanks Travis. Ya it feels great to stand if nothing else to stretch my back out a little
