    I was taking the transmission cover off and a small spring about 1 inch long fell out. I dont know where from... do you have any idea what that might be for? Extra from previous rebuild??

      @everythingmechanical_yt 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ColeBehnken probably unlikely that it’s extra but if you split the case it may be from the forward reverse selector, there is a ball with a spring behind it that sets into a detent on the forward reverse shaft

      I don't think it's from that because I never took that selector out. I saw some wear on that gear that is connected to the clutch. Is there a spring between the clutch and axle push lever? Could be that

    Thanks for the well-thought-out commentary on your video! We both make decisions on our equipment along similar lines. I've never used a sulky before so I'm viewing a lot of different videos to see the strongest and weakest ideas to do a fabrication for myself. Your point about the wheels being able to pass under the tow-bar when going in reverse, really struck me, as none I had viewed had mentioned that at all. I'm also seeing how exacting the pivot point and ride position with the steering controls are critical for less stress during operation. My project actually involves making one for a self-propelled snowthrower.

    • @everythingmechanical_yt

      If it doesn’t fit you shouldn’t force it. 1/4” is a lot considering the taper on the heater itself. Not sure if you didn’t clean that hole out or if you have the right heater but definitely not worth messing up your block for something like this. As for the video, I installed the correct part for my vehicle and explained exactly how I installed it effectively, but if you’re working on your own vehicle it’s up to you to get and install your parts correctly.
