Great video
Yeoo man I just got the lift it’s preety nice with some more clearance but I have a question for you. I let a shop do the work and they left a bag of what looks like bigger washers and nuts that had came with the northwoods kit. Where the washers and nuts the same that where on the car as the kit or did the shop just not put on the proper washers ??
@@jls9664 they probably just reused the oem hardware on the front struts but it’s hard to say. I’m sure everything is good. I think north wood just provides some extras
Love the video thanks Helped a lot
Keep up the great work 🔥
Cool hack with the vise grips
Torn boots*
Great job. The inpact was a life saver for me too on those axle nuts. No pb blaster on rusted nuts? Didnt see your axle vid but the car care nut recommends replacing the boots of your toyota axles instead of going aftermarket if you catch toen boots before damage occurs. The kit cost 40 bucks per axle. If you start messing around with the rear axles make sure you lossen the rust of breather valve on top of rear diff. Mine rusted shut and pushed oul out of rear axle seals
@@hanssolo6621 The rusted nuts were too far gone for pb blaster. Thanks for the tip on the rear axle. I’ll keep that in mind when it’s time. It already had aftermarket axles and if I have to replace them again I’ll for sure go oem!
2007 RAV4 with 208K Michigan miles, leaking transfer case replacement / stuck RF axle extraction: No joy trying the longer bolt through the bottom of the right axle's support bearing mount. Soaked the bearing & mount a second night with BG penetrating oil, and with the mount bolted tight to the engine block we then heated the mount cherry red with an oxy-acetylene torch. Next we went nuts on the bearing with a pneumatic punch with a two foot long center punch. BINGO! The right front axle finally popped out.
Longer bolt is the way to go. Just break through the bearing. If I have to get an acetylene torch it's too far gone lol.
Gonna drop mine 2 or more inches did your wheels rub at all after?
@@1913131 I had to remove the fender liner. The tire rubs when I hit really large bumps but not too bad. I currently have 17 inch wheels but going to 16 soon.
Really appreciate you posting this video. Now....Time to see how much of a pain in the ass it is. 😂😂
It is definitely a pain but hopefully this helps!
@SBGUS so I was never able to get it off even with this trick. For those reading these comments, I highly suggest buying a 9-in carbide Diablo sawzall blade and just cutting the bracket and installing a new bracket. From the time that I started cutting the bracket to installing a new bracket and axle, it was about 30 minutes. Before doing that. I think I'd spent about a week of random nights trying to get it off on the lift. I was using heat penetrating oil, pry bars punches, nothing worked
What are all the names of every suspension part for front and back?
@@luiscolon6978 here is the best I can do lol tein flex z coilovers Front: upper and lower control arms, ball joints, front compliance bushings, front sway bar and end links Rear: subframe brace, sway bar, end links, rear lower control arms, trailing arm bushings, rear camber link, rear toe link(not sure actual name but attached to the rear trailing arm). I think that’s everything!
@ thanks!
What is the length of the bolts that you're using for all the motor mounts?
@@a.r.1066 I used the stock bolts for all of them except for the one that mounts to the transmission. I just picked some up from Ace hardware.
I just suffered 5 hours trying to do the pass side on a friend's RAV. Finally gave up and threw it back together cause we ran out of time. THEN after he leaves, I find this video. Why couldn't this have come up first? WTF. No, I get the Toyota tech guy who just un bolts the carrier and it pops right out.
I k swapped my Civic hatch, dumped a lot of money doing that and nearly neglected the suspension. I did do the same Tein Flex Z coils though. I'm going to return to the suspension portion of the car, gotta pick up paint for the stock front sway bar and to reinstall it. After that I'm looking into a few three point strut bars and camber kits. Having none of the sway bars installed or the a strut bar has been a nightmare for the past year. Thanks for the video
Hey guys just did the CV axles on an 06 rav 4 and I was able to get it out without breaking it. I sprayed the bearing with PBblaster every few days for about a week before working on it and it came right out! Thanks so much for making the video it was a huge help and I hope this comment helps someone else
🎉
Actually there is another video for this and it is so much easier. Go to Home Depot, get two Diablo carbide saws all blades, cut between the outside joint and the and the carrier bearing. Then take a 4 1/2 angle grinder and cut between the carrier bearing and the trans and finish it off with the Diablo blade and finish it. Take the three bolts out of the carrier bracket and soak in WD40 and within a couple hours it should pop right out. The piece that is left in the trans slides out there is no clip on the end. If you got this far you shouldn’t need instructions on how to reinstall. Thanks
Can you link that video please
Great I just broke off my second bolt
How much you paid for everything brother ?
@@Natureintenzin I think it was around $1200. They have even more options now
@@SBGUS thank you brother
Did you ever fix the nonstarting issue ? I too manual swapped my teggy 97 spec and it still starts sometimes with the key but most of the time i have to jump the starter solenoid , ive tried cleaning my grounds even relocating them still same issue if you did help a brotha out 😅
I still never figured it out brotha! I have to jump the starter 2/10 times I go to start the car. I noticed that turning off the AC before I turn off the car helps but I’ve never tried super hard to diagnose the problem. I’ll let you know if I find a fix man! My guess is the loose wiring from the shifter messing with the voltage in the circuit but I have no clue for sure. Or something to do with the clutch switch.
@@SBGUS if you still trying to fix the no start issue I think I fixed mines , I cleaned battery terminals and all ground areas to bare metal then I orded a new battery cable kit with ground cables too . Now it starts every time with key . Hope this helps you
Driving manual is easy af especially a honda you got it bro no sweat at all
Why 4 cylinder for life?
This was a super helpful video, i have a 98 aswell and i was looking on more info for this job.
Reaction time doesn’t affect your time , the timer starts when you leave
In the video you said it was built for boost? I guess its low compression and has a short duration cam?
Yeah still low(LS) compression but stock cams. Turbo coming soon!
that thing isn’t stock?
Ehhh it has FBO but it made stock dyno numbers 135hp…
My favorite Teggy in AZ 🔥
new bracket is 35.00 from rock auto, I won't do another cv axle without a new bracket in hand.
What’s that oil pressure piece your talking about in the back reason I ask is because I’m building a b18b1 I need somewhat a lil help
I believe it’s called an oil restrictor. It’s located in the back center of the block. It is 100% needed
Doing this now, thanks for the video, on the Passengers side
It looks the same
It’s only a 1.5 inch lift you only notice when getting in and out
Swapping a transmission in a 2010 rav4 as we speak. I appreciate the heads u0 regarding the dowle pins....got the bracket past them but still having issues with getting it out. Just wanted to say thanks for making this video and informing me about the pins that you can't see. Hopefully I get it out sooner than later!
Were you able to get the bracket out with the cv axle shaft still in the transmission? Currently stuck in the mud because of the fkn seized bracket.
Would you happen to have a list of all the parts you needed to convert to manual, im thinking about doing this to my 94
Working on a video on that soon!
Good job bro 💪
Thanks 🔥
I tried breaking the bearing with the bolt but it broke and seized the axle, so I had to take apart the exhaust and grind apart the axle carrier.
Use a punch when installing or removing the bitch pin. It makes life easier brotha.
You sound bad at warzone
I’m currently doing a swap now, how big of a hole did you make on the plate for the shift lever?
I believe I used a 3-4 inch hole saw. C2spec makes a nice plate cover too👍🏼
Don’t worry about heel toe in my opinion. Used to spend so much time getting it down and now I get in to gear and get the suspension set for the corner and to be in the right gear to power out💪🏾
“raw” footage ?
More like “unedited” lol
Thanks for the video. I ended up destroying the bearing with a bolt and hammering it out, saved a lot of time.
hey brother..im going thru the same as you did but my its not cranking but i can hear the stater clicking.i think its also my automatic selector that i left it in park after i clipped the wires. But i also ran my reverse wire and same with the safety switch.so,my question to you is did you connect all the wire from the gear selectors including the reverse and the safety switch or just the rest and did you left it in park or neutral to make it work??
I connected all the wire from the gear selector harness. I bought a wiring kit from C2 spec that helped a lot. I'm 90% sure I put it in neutral before wiring in the new harness. I'm working on a video on the wiring now. Stay tuned!
Do you know the size width and length of that bolt that holds the axle in the bracket ?
I always watch these videos in depth before I start a project and I’m sure you just saved me hours of work 😂🫡👍🏻
Thanks for the video. I’ve been looking at alot of the same parts.
Any tips for trying to hold down 400 hp on an integra? Would this be enough?
I can’t speak on that since I only have 135hp at the moment. I set mine up for handling and grip. Still need strut tower braces. If you’re drag racing a traction bar and adjustable coils for sure. 400hp coming soon…
good suspension really stiff in the rear and build a weight plate you want the weight as far forward and as low as you can get it.. helps with weight distribution. which in return improves grip
The grippiest tires you can afford, limit negative front camber (you want a good contact patch, not just the edges; I stick to -1.5°) and a limited slip differential or traction bar.
How are you liking the Tein suspension?
I got the twin flex z coilovers and I love them. Adjustable dampening and great build quality for the price. Only thing that would make them better is adjustable camber with the front top hats.
@SBGUS camber on these cars is adjusted by the upper control arms. The coilovers them selves do not affect camber. But I'll agree the flex z's are the best coilovers for the price point they are at. I have a set on my ek.
@bryanlarrea2867 some coilovers come with camber plates which allow camber adjustment at the shock towers.
Is it possible to install this while the engine is in
Most definitely! It will just be a little tight. I’d recommend doing the work from underneath the car.
nice video bro, could you do perhaps a cost breakdown video?
Anyone worried about mpg is too cheap to consider this mod
