Saw this parked in Joppa near my folks house one night a few months back. Looked awesome :)

damn. Haven't seen one of those for decades. I worked in the factory building those things back in '73 in Clayton.

Always wanted one when was a spotty teenager in the 80s. Loved the 80s sports stuff like the 205 gti Renault turbo but escort turbo the best👌

They do look so much better than the 240. You could se the original beautiful design beeing corrupted over time - eventually turning into a turd like the 240. Yes I'm a Swede born in 1973 - at the time I thought the 140 was embarrassing because it was oldand the 240 was the car I wanted my parents to have 😂

Love the car mate, would have loved one of these back in 89. So nice compared to modern cars.

Hard to believe these were such garbage cars in the US. My mom had an 85 model and it had oil changes every 3k miles and engine died at 50k MI. Same basic body style as this one but without flares and such.

My dad had a 145 (ie 5 door estate) in light green. Even as a small child I thought it was an odd colour. Many years later, in the 90s I think, I saw a saloon in the same colour and in excellent condition. The registration number was one digit less than my dad's!

The series one mk 3 ford escort r.s turbo on the c registration is my all time favorite fast ford .....however this mk 4 escort r.s turbo is a beauty

I used to rip the crap out of this car, and it could hand the abuse. It blew the head gasket many times. The best way to solve this issue is to use a metal head gasket with long head bolts that tighten from the top like a wheel nut . They should have made the engine with a 16 valve head..

Good on you for saving the car and you hold on to her.

Fantastic video... I have a gorgeous '72 144 automatic in #109 ocean green. It was originally an Edinburgh car but it's been registered in Ireland since 2000. I see you have the obligatory BW35 oil stain where you park... I have one on my garage floor too. I wish mine still had white wall tires... They do look great with them.

am an mercedes diesel person but if i would get an petrol or an lpg car it is an rearwheel drive volvo for me , i had an 740 with 700000 km with no problem then i wrecked it.
