Spray tool with WD -40, then wipe/absorb with paper towel. That's the proper use of the product: Water Displacement with some lubrication.

What do you do when the cartridge is a brass one and the puller just pulled the core out and left the rest of the cartridge?

I could not get the old cartridge out using the plastic tool that came with the new cartridge. I ended up breaking the little plastic pieces at the top of the old cartridge. Went back to Home Depot and got a cartridge puller and had success, the new one went in easily. Your video helped as well. Thank you .

Where can I get one of the tools you used in this video to take out the kitchen faucet cartridge? I have the same faucet. I just happen to have one of those cartridges here. Yay! Now I can fix my kitchen sink. Its spraying everywhere and leaking out the middle part of it.

The force required to remove the cartridge was more than any plumbing repair I've ever done. It eventually came out after yanking on it with pliers forever.

Best advice, call plumber and have him toss the Moen in the trash and install anything but Moen garbage. Best money you will ever spend! PS: you can use the Moen tool for 🎯 practice, if you wasted your money on one of those. 😉

Is there a way to know what Moen cartridge you have without pulling it out? Otherwise I would have to pull the old one to see, call Moen to get warranty replacement, then wait for it before I can complete. If it breaks when removing like it did in this video, then I can't use the sink for however long it takes to get the replacement from Moen.

I have a similar Moen kitchen faucet (with the flat handle) but in my case the spout arm is very hard to rotate. It likely has a build up from over the years. How does that come off so one can clean it, change the o-ring(s) and re-lubricate? Do you have a video on that by chance ?

8:35 My first attempt at faucet plumbing: my 32-year old kitchen cartridge's replacement task ending had me puzzled as my handle felt unsettled/sloppy when moving vertically and I still had leaking. After lightly manipulating the handle up/down/around, I felt something mysterious happen in the inside and then the faucet usage was buttery smooth and leak-free. After watching at least 10 videos on cartridge removal/installation, none of them (most had a different handle model) mentioned the handle's internal flat edge placement subtlety. Your video's handle (same as mine) is the only one which explained it. I now understand the handle internals - thanks a lot.

What do you do when the stem pulls out of the cartridge, as what happened to me when I used a similar tool as shown here...? Now the body of the cartridge is still stuck in the housing, but there is nothing to pull on...
