I'm a hobby woodworker that has yet to perfect any techniques other than overcoming self-made errors. I enjoy projects from pen turning to small furniture. This channel is meant to give friends and family a way to see some of the things I've made and know what is involved in the process. Hopefully my videos can help others have fun making things, learn from my ramblings and mistakes. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments regarding anything you see.
I'll use Instagram to put photos of other projects I've completed or working on from time to time. Check those out too: @hammettrobbie

What an awesome lovingly trialed and less error restoration! What may I ask were the door measurements and price?
I can't remember the measurements but believe they were 36" x 84". I sold it for $500. I've seen others listed for a lot more in the past. It seems to vary widely by region / market. Thanks for watching!
Wow I love restoring old coffee grinders. You made a great transformation. It looks fantastic. 🎉
Thank you for the comments!
❤ I love restoring old coffee grinders. You made a great transformation. It looks fantastic. 🎉
Thanks so much! 😊
Hey Robert. Love the video. Do you mind me asking what you ended up selling the door for? Just curious. That was a ton of work.
I sold it to a friend for $500. I've seen others posted for over $1,000 on marketplace apps if you're looking to sell. Thanks for the comment.
You have no clue how easy you made that trigger spring for me 😳🤯
🤔
Your video showed up in my feed today! Looks great. I picked up a few ideas from you. What lights do you have?
Thanks for the comment. I bought the lights back in 2020 from Amazon (hykolity 4 Pack 4FT LED Shop Light)
Some great ideas. I have to get to cleaning up my grandfather's old hand saws.
Thanks for the comments
Terrific effort 👏👏🌈😀👏👏👏
Thank you!
Ahhh, no problem. Thanks for the reply
Thanks for watching!
Does this door have a 2 1/8 inch bore hole? I wonder if ReSecure Latch would work in this door?
I'm not sure about the dimensions. Unfortunately the door has been sold and shipped to Seattle so I don't have access to it any longer.
Very nice job 😊
Thank you!
That is a beautiful door and your careful work does it justice. This is what I do for a living and I learned a few things from this vid. I wonder if those lock escutcheons are original to the door, given the better quality of the mortise lock. The patch that you installed we call a Dutchman. You lined up the slots on the flathead screws.
Thank you for the comments! I appreciate the fact you were able to get something from the video (and watched it 😀). Thanks again
I love it. The color is so pretty.
Thank you
Nice work Robbie.
Thank you
Hi this is t2bkk in Bangkok Thailand. I love airgun and I watched your video about Daisy and like it. I will watch others videos you uploaded because all seem interesting very much. Please be good friends connected. I upload some airguns and other videos, too.
Thank you for the comments!
Okay I will try, thank you JW MCCLANAHAN
👍
I can not find any gun dealer that wants to attact this problem. So I guess that I can forget it.
Sorry to hear that. The other thought is to reach out to the Kinzler Brothers on TH-cam and ask if they have a contact (or would want to do it themselves).
where can I get cleaned up and fixed ?
I would check with your local gun stores or antique dealers for suggestions. Thanks for watching.
I have a Dasey 102 model 33 , I believe it was built in 1933 single shot lever action
I would like to restore it, depending on the cost.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice work
Thank you
Very shoddy work, sorry.
Thanks for watching.
Seems to look a lot better than it did before he got there & he did it for free. Glad he made the effort and helped someone.
@@DonnyJones-xf5cgThanks Donny, you can't please everyone. I work a desk job & am not a handyman for a living. I simply provided my time and materials to help out a neighbor for free. Thankfully the homeowner and neighbors were appreciative of the gesture and effort!
I think it was a shining example of helping those that are in need. The world needs more people that do acts of service and expect nothing in return. As to the shoddy work comment from above, you (the author) could use a dose of … appreciation, kindness, manners, etc.
Be more appreciative and kind.
Beautiful job and beautiful neighborhood! What area is this??
It's north of the perimeter in Atlanta. Thanks for watching!
Do you know the resident of this home? What is their story? You're very kind to use your time, energy, and equipment to help make their home look better not to mention make your neighborhood look better.
I don't know the full story. A neighbor mentioned it was a lady with health issues that has limited means to maintain the place. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Can't wait to see day two. I want to go over there and help you with the gutter. Maybe even power wash the driveway with you! Btw, it looks much cleaner and tidier already. Good job. I don't know where you live, but any outdoor job in the continental U.S. is insanely hard with the humidity and temperature. Stay safe and hydrate, take shade breaks, and take care of your skin!
For north Atlanta, the temperature was moderate for August and stayed in the low 90s. It was hot enough and humid enough to tire me out by the time the rain came. I went through at least four sports drinks and a couple of waters along the way and still felt like I needed more. 😀
Good job
Thank you!
Omg looks so much better!!!!!
Thank you!
What kind of wood is the stock made of?
I'm not sure. It may be walnut based on some searching.
That looks great!
Thank you
Good idea the marks on the micro mesh. Doing my pens with polymer clay and was looking to use something else, will try it. Thanks
Thanks for the comment and watching. Good luck with your turnings
Thank you for sharing - especially the details on the door hardware.
Thank you!
Hey Robbie! You gave me plenty of things to think about as I redesign my basement workspace.. I have a question, have you ran into any issues sharing the space with your HVAC? Has dust disrupted or damaged anything? I’ve been pondering building an enclosure for my hvac because my basement is small and gets pretty dusty and I worry I’ll run into issues down the road! Thanks!
Thanks for the comments. There are no returns on the workshop side of the basement so I haven't had any issues. I try to vacuum the dust off of the HVAC anyway just to be safe and keep things clean.
its really nice! love that clean uncluttered look!
Thank you.
I found one of these hidden on my apartment porch today. We have about 25 kids in my apartment and the landlord has been evicting families because the unattended children vandalizing property and shooting each other with bb guns. The gun does not cock, however, so I'm going to take it apart and see what the problem is.
That's pretty wild the kids are playing the wild west in your complex. I'd prefer they were shooting each other with Nerf guns but really glad they weren't higher caliber than BBs. Good luck with the inspection and repair!
Iv acquired one of these. Was my grandfathers. He got it from his father. What size bbs do I need for it.
It took normal Copperhead BBs for me- not a unique size
Would like to do this myself soon. How many of those fuel canisters did you need for your hike?
I recommend two of thatvsize or one larger version. I ran out on the final day and got lucky that another camper shared with me.
An amazing video! Such dedication to details!
Thank you for the comments and watching!
You posted the video on Oct. 31, when did you do the hike?
A week or so before in mi-to-late October (2021). Thanks for watching.
@@roberthammett6795 Do you mind if I bug you for intel on aspect of hiking that section during that time? I'm planning that hike in Oct. for my birthday. Maybe as i get closer I'll reach out to you again. Great video by the way.
What a nice and very roomy shop you have! You have done a great job and who cares if different woods were used in a shop build? I would suggest as your skills grow to use the shop's furniture as a way to hone different skills. Such as dovetails, dads, rabbits, and lap joints. Those are all very basic but important skills to have. Right now I am integrating some Korean and Japanese joinery into new upper cabinets for my shop. Very challenging, but fun and if I screw up, it is on something that will be in my shop and not on expensive wood for a client or a gift. I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the shop and the fact that there isn't junk piled up under your workbench. Lol. Which is a great size for assembly by the way. And never apologize for repurposing items for other purposes as you did on your dust collection cart. Cleaver idea. I've been wood working for nearly 40 yrs now and I have always tried to find a new purpose for an item no longer used for its original purposes. I also strip gears, remove pipe or any heavy steel to repurpose into other projects. We are a throw-away society and now it has gotten us into quite a pickle. Best of luck Robert.
Thank you for the kind words and positive feedback!
How do you combat the dust pulling into your furnace or cold air return system? Other than having dust collection - which I assume helps a lot but doesn’t get everything.
There are no returns in that area of basement so it's typically ok as long as I keep the door shut.
Hi, I have an old Daisy BB gun that I found almost completely buried in the ground. Cleaned it up and it was working but not very well. Do you do restorations? I’d love to get this old gun working properly again. I think it’s from the late 1920s.
Unfortunately I don't do restorations. You may be able to get the Kinzler Brothers or someone else on TH-cam to help however. Thanks for watching and commenting.
What Jason said.
Thanks
I got one of those around 1971
Hopefully it had more power than this one does today. 😀
Looks ridiculous.
Thanks for watching
Great setup!
Thank you.
This is a really good video without all the bla bla introduction ' click on the like button' etc..... I'm doing this trip after the summer. Can't wait. If u use a shuttle bus, do u have to pay in cash ?
Thanks for watching. The drivers I used took non-cash payments via phone (e.g. paypal) which was helpful.
thank you for the awesome vid. I plan on doing the same hike this fall....when you reach the GA/NC line what location is it again that you met your shuttle? how much do they charge you to return to springer mountain? thanks!
The service road where I got picked up was about 2 miles south of the border. It cost around $160 to shuttle back. Hope you enjoy the experience!
Nice job restoring the coffee grinder.
Thank you
Really like the brass screws for color contrast
I agree. It was a nice surprise along the way
Small amount of scrap brass
Yep. Thanks for watching
Good work, my man 👍🏻
