Terry had a vision and those years at Baylands were magical! From World of Outlaws to the open nights on the drag strip. Nowadays they are just doing it on the streets.

Watched at WIR for years at the Eve of Destruction he would usually do a lap or two around the half mile blowing smoke and fire, the he would participate in the meltdown. Great showman.

So i lived on Boyce RD . where Toyota is now, walk over to watch drags and at night Nimitz drive-in. Met Evel Knievel when workers tore down the jump ramps 1974 also snuck into the short track rode my dirt bike.

saw this car at Richmond Dragway when I was a kid

.some of the best sprint car racing i ever witnessed.jimmy sills in the bailey bros. black 01 sprint car was unbeatable the first year,the only reason he lost against the outlaws was that sammy jump a restart where he literally passed him on the back straightway before the green and they called it good.

I remember this car at baylands back in the day at night in Fremont it was unreal to me . I'd been to wensday night druged night but I'll always remember the Hawaiian racing on the weekend I was so exited to see the blue flames pouring out awesome times man thank you so much

It's an interesting motor, I'll say that. But also have to say that Jerry was not always a good person. He owed so many people, and was one of those difficult persons to serve process on. Interesting that he managed to hold on to this car throughout all of the collection processes he went through. Must have had it squirreled away where judgement creditors couldn't find it

How can we view these movies now? caught one of them 4 or 5 years ago at Niles Essanay Film Museum

Great show! One of the biggest in the Bay Area. There where over 400 plus cars.

One of the best shows I’ve ever been to. I was at the two minute mark. 65 mustang fastback along with other club members. Bay Area mustang association.

A neighbor worked on a yellow 55 chevy that raced on the drag strip and said the tv 20 channel 20 sponsored a 66 ford wagon and entered it in a demo derby at this track and aired it as an episode in the early to mid 80's called "car wars.' Many memories....

I was at the NHRA national event at Fremont in 1972 with a friend and watched the Hawaiian funny car blow his body off, went shooting 100 ft in the air and landed just past the spectator bleachers. Truly enjoyed my many years at Fremont drags..

The white Ford Galaxy reminds me a lot of Ed Terrys 1962 Galaxy, that he ran at Fremont dragstrip back in 1962 ..before the tree was installed. I watched Ed race all manor of high performance factory Fords, at Fremont thru 1974..

The place is an amazing throwback to good times at the drags.

I remember this car well. Tony and my father were good friends. Met Evel at the shop. Met Reggie Jackson too because of Tony. I miss those days. I loved that car!

Greatest memory of mine was working concession stand all day and was allowed in the tower to watch the last race of the day. Flames shot out back of jetfuel dragster and fence caught on fire then blew it down !!!

Thanks for the videos and memories. Just bought the video. I raced at that last race in super eliminator in my 1957 Chevy that said Ron Harding on the side. I qualified in the number on position with a 7.91 (th-cam.com/video/I0PstOxzGwg/w-d-xo.html), took out a rail (th-cam.com/video/s7rIoxFCc4w/w-d-xo.html) after doing the longest recorded burnout, then red lighted with a .3.99 reaction after getting between .401-.406 all day.
