Creativity begins as soon as you realize that nothing matters. You may put hours into something everyone loves, and a few minutes into something people love even more. You may also put days or weeks into something people don't even know exists. None of it matters in the grand scale, and it's better to put your own time and worth into things you enjoy for the purpose of your own satisfaction, and if people have ANY type of opinion after, that's called a bonus. You might at first think this is selfish, and it is, but ultimately, that also will only last the listener and yourself a spare moment in time. "Remember to have fun"

For me, I've never released music properly, if I did it was little things on TH-cam and SoundCloud, would've liked it to blow up but I didn't really care, I sample and compose my own stuff, I like both beats equally, I don't have a preference, no background in music except for the fact that i learned how to play a very very very tiny bit of guitar, the bassline to stay with me by Sam smith and I learned how to play Oasis - don't look back in anger at school. I still make beats with samples as well as using my own loops, genuinely, I don't think either or are easier, because most of the time as a composer, you are literally copying a song subconsciously anyway, so yeah, you're not downloading a song off TH-cam, but, you are using your memory and associating it with something you've heard before, you are just changing it a little bit. I think people have forgot to just enjoy what they're doing and express themselves, there too caught up in self righteous bullshit, everything in art is literally a sample if you want to really get into the nitty gritty of it, someone grabbed a sample of string, plucked it and thought that was cool, explored and found out that the longer and thicker the string, will depend how it sounds, then people kept copying each other and made there own versions of what they heard before, hence genres and sub-genres which is a term that makes no sense.

At the end of the day copying and pasting shit on a computer doesn't really make you anything, much less a music producer. "Music producers" by and large can't play a single instrument, can't read or write music, can't compose anything original. They think taking something someone else made is making something their own. Usually kids.

I call that type of sampling from splice as mixing. I use splice but always try and mix it up, pitch, chop etc. 99% of the time i make my own beats as that’s what i enjoy but sometimes, i use a live bongo loop to fill the drums out.

I see no problem if you're using loops, samples, midis etc. Just dont get inspired to make music by people who do this shit. Its ur inspirations that take u far not your actual process if u look at it from an artform angle.

I use splice loops a lot but normally have some of my own melodies or counter melodies in there as well. I use splice because it adds sauce and is fun to me. Also, I pay for it so why not use it? Started using tracklib as well with serato sample and that's even more fun. But then again, using the MPC Live 2 to make beats always has a harder hitting sound to me.

Honestly bro, I don't hate. I oftentimes try to copy other beats to learn, so how much of that is really me? Plus, music is music and if you make something you love, its a valid piece of work IMO.

If you want to listen to something refreshing listen to my beats, I make everything from skratch and i have my own original unique sound!! Im a real Trendsetter! anybody who rips sounds is lame! although a lot of what music is, is ripping sounds from the beginning of music but i give the most credit to people who actually make their own sound and bring something new to the table. Originality is the single handedly most important thing in music in my book.

YES exactly how I feel about these “artists” that just use sound packs and don’t actually go through the hard but exciting work to make your own interesting type beat which has never been heard before! That is exciting! Listening to these up and coming “producers” that get big way too quick especially off of Tik Tok is the definition of hype. But yeah man !

A lot of the people / "producers" in the comments don't seem to get what bro is saying and it's quite concerning to see. Using loops and samples is fine, regardless of if you chop them up, add effects, or leave them unchanged. However, taking a drum loop, a melody loop, a chord progression loop and a vocal loop and dragging them all into your DAW and pressing export does not make you a producer. YES, it might sound AMAZING. But you won't get anywhere as an artist because you're not creating any value: Can you play your music on a live set? No because you don't know how to play instruments Can you show people the production process? No, it was 4 loops slapped together Can you chat on a talk show about your music? No, you added nothing to the creative process so you have no emotional involvement with the track. Okay? What if you just want to be an in-house producer? As soon as the artist realises that your production process is dragging 4 loops from Splice into a DAW and requires no skill/ education, they will instantly start producing their tracks themselves and keeping extra royalty cuts. These type of producers will be the first to be instantly replaced by AI, and frankly I'm glad that this will happen. I know people will be mad about this comment. And those same people that will be mad will be the ones who have no fundamental music production knowledge and only use unaltered loops and samples. So many stupid comments on this video too like "XXXXXX song uses this drum loop" like yeah bro, but the rest of the track isn't loops is it. At some point in the production process, you HAVE to add something that's unique to stand out, or you WILL be replaced.

Art is subjective, if you have question if something is good or not, which is the default measure of if the creator of the finished product talented or not, you should already know that the project you are talking about is likely trash. Most good art is often some of the artists most simplest work, I.E. less is more. The last people that are ever concerned with the creative process would be the consumer, they don't care if it's a loop or a master piece, all they care about is .. does it slap or not?

Tommee Profitt, a professional producer/composer who knows piano, etc., used a Splice loop for NF's song "Careful" with Cordae. We found that out when Tech N9ne (I believe don’t quote me) used the exact same loop, and then someone confirmed that they had heard the exact same loop in one of their beats as well. It just goes to show that sampling is the greatest form of making beats/producing a song, even if you've never made beats before. And to that, I say: YEAH, USE LOOPS! Especially if you don't know anything about music theory or keyboards or anything like that!
