That's how I feel about Mattel right now. They're TRASH. But I will still buy vintage. Plotting on the Ann Klein Barbie doll now. Love the Houndstooth Blazer with her red vest. Very nice doll.👍😍
Lovely look for the Anne Klein one! Vintage is appealing, for sure, and generally better quality. At least, there’s never pixelation! I think only the “Barbie Fashion Model Line” and BarbieStyle come with what I would call high quality garments.
Why is Shaggy kinda fine 👀
She’s so cute, but the bangs are so wonky on this one for some reason. I’ve noticed they also become yellow and discolored. It almost makes me wonder if they used poly just for the bangs.
Hmm…do you mean the Creepover one? The bangs appear neat on mine, and since they are inter-rooted and overlap the Saran (that goes backward) I think they’d all be the same. Also feels like Saran…but may be it’s the hair product/gel you’re feeling, and that is causing the discoloration? I didn’t love how g1 Twyla’s would often have a green hair that turned to a strange less vibrant version…but I haven’t seen this in g3, and it appears to me a new Saran tone.
I love how Harley face looks, very deranged clown look lol If they went more cute, it would of been fine but that would work more for old Harley look. Also when you showed all for dolls around the 16 min mark, Who was that Disney doll? Also Thank you for this video, I was feeling guilty I only bought 2 Harley's and no Ivy but I really had too many cons with her just by stock photos but seeing all the other issues, It makes me feel valid for my choice.
Thank you for the feedback! That Disney doll is Arista one of Ariel’s sisters (also did an Ariel video where this set was covered) and I re-bodied her on a fair complexion made to move Barbie body.
I just ordered my First Monster High Dolls last night. Two of the dolls were on sale from Amazon and one doll that I really wanted from Mecari. I love the new Twyla one; Fearbook. I have a few of the Bratzillaz dolls; I saw photos online of Bratzillaz and Monster High Dolls can wear the same fashions; also Bratz clothes and Liv doll fashions. So I am excited to switch their clothes.
Me too! I appreciate when the clothes can be swapped…adds so many more options. RE: monster fest, if you live near a target, check those out as well because they have been on clearance for the past two weeks (in-store only, even if they’re not marked on clearance on the shelves, take them to the price checker because they likely will be. I experienced this a couple days ago).
It's so funny because I sold my Angel Eyes Poppy, I liked her and styled her hair to my liking but I couldn't really get into her. I also won Snoozeroo in the lottery - sold her, do I regret it? Sorta, but another gorgeous deep complexion poppy will come around. Also, absolutely no shade to poppy collectors but I think she had so many mid releases this year. While she is popular I was getting sick of seeing her.
Poppy’s had a dim year, IMO. I’m more discerning going forward due to prices (and I’m expanding into other lines, like Monster High), but always happy to see upcoming Poppy releases. Would like to see more classic screenings, timeless vintage style, and diverse looks…either from the sidelines or in my collection.

Thank you for the interest. I kept this outfit and sold the doll. It’s weird… They were available on a couple of websites and now it doesn’t look like they’re anywhere to be found except occasionally on eBay for very inflated prices.
love these rankings! im also nervous about doll prices raising. I also use my iPhone - and then I screen mirror to my MacBook and use my MacBook as a viewfinder so I can see what's in the frame!!

Glad this was helpful. In hindsight, I love the Frontier packaging design, and would recommend buying the fashion as separate pieces, but passing on the overall doll. I see Mattel, putting all their creativity and quality assurance into Monster High and kind of just letting Barbie go on the wayside.
@thedollbusiness With so many that came out, I had to choose which ones I really wanted. I didn't get any of the playline Ryan Gosling dolls, figured I already had the Kenough one and I have the one of him smiling (with the new campfire pair) coming. I've been strictly a Barbie collector for years, but 2024 I bought my first ily forever and MH dolls! Also slowly getting my holy grail dolls 🥰
@ love to hear it. I’m excited for the campfire one. Grail dolls are fun to chase, but sometimes so pricey that I give myself time to evaluate (if it’s a newer discovery). MH grew on me this year, and was the standout star 🌟in terms of creativity, characterization, theming, and quality.
@thedollbusiness Definitely! I was watching one of my grail dolls for 24 years (was scammed by an e bay seller before they changed policy...going to make a video soon about it) and FINALLY found it without an exorbitant price! I snatched it up so fast lol

I saw a few “too good to be true” Poppy Parkers on Etsy, which turned out to be a scam and I was able to get my money back, but I’m thinking like what is the point of these scams do people just not request their money back? Is anyone benefiting from any of this? Madness. Please share your grail find!
I actually really liked the neon frights, though I also agree they're not great. I really love bold bright colors. neon is quite tricky to I think design cohesively. I really liked the colors, but the designs were not executed well. I felt they were sloppy and not cohesive or put together well. I did buy some of them because I think they have a lot of potential and I want to redesign them. As for the lockers I agree they're pretty wasteful and I understand that it's the gimmick of the doll but they're very bulky and I think unnecessary. I might take the doors off and make them into small shelves, but I think that only works for one or two of them. I really loved your commentary on all of these, and I can't wait to see more from you.

Don't collect Monster High but loved your commentary so different from the usual "shouty" approach, it is great you highlighted the worst but did so in a way where you were clearly suggesting they could and should do better, really agree. Hope you do more reviews in future.

Hey :) if you want to make a custom Melody doll, I recommend the 1980s Tyco Ariel. She is skipper sized. And with broadening the eyebrows a little and a reroot with black hair she is a perfect Melody. For a more articulated body there is e.g. the Miraculous Ladybug doll. As the neck is slimmer then Skippers with the Miraculous body, it fits the head well. I am working on such a custom, hair and body are ready, just the full face repaint is putting me off, as I just have not the patience for all the MSC interruptions. I rather work no stop on a project. Though I really have to get through my doll slaughter house of headless bodies and faceless heads so they can move into my collection. Happy new year!

I am glad you have covered Integrity Toys. I love Poppy Parker, but this year is not the best year of her. I do have the upgrade doll of Angel Eyes Poppy Parker and the Tweed Fashion, and love the Jaclyn Smith vibe. However, I don't find other Poppy Parkers worth collecting in this year. There aren't any "wow" factors when compared to the old releases.

Poppy Parker is my favorite doll to collect as well! I actually love my Angel Eyes Poppy. Especially in the Tweed Intrigue fashion. I also have Illusive Beauty. I’m glad I snagged her when I did because she is going for a crazy amount on eBay right now. I recently started to get some NuFace (Nadja Rhymes) and I want to get some Fashion Royalty too. Integrity Dolls are addicting that’s for sure.

I had a similar experience with the Barbie color reveal fairy…loved the doll and the screening, but there were so many asymmetrical print jobs or lips off center and wonky eyes…

This video helped me pick out what Twyla i actually wanted to Buy The stupid glue in g1 definetly absolutely ruins hair colours. My twylas hair is more of a green than mint cause of the stupid glue :,3 and all my Frankies and Abbeys hair also has a yellow tint

Good pick! Creepover is the core version, but Fearbook has a lot of charm, a better dress, and a fun look. I also prefer Twyla’s hair in Fearbook.

Yea I got all 4 of mine online and none came with defects! I really enjoy the line I hope there will be more. But I’m not confident given the initial reaction
I enjoy the doll series and I believe I saw rumors that Ken and Daisy were coming out in the next line. That could be fun to see. I wanted to like the show, especially if it was a cartoon, but the promotional videos I saw on TH-cam are not my cup of tea in the animation looks very cheap like it’s made with AI.
