Hey everyone,
It's Jim here, a bit about me and my channel.
In my spare time I'm into all kinds of projects in "The Shed". I love to work with metal and I am constantly learning new skills with metal fabrication, especially if it has an engine in it or can be converted to something with one.
In the past I have always enjoyed editing and making videos, So My TH-cam channel is a way for me to capture my projects and show people what they can do with a handful of basic tools and a little bit of persistence to help them to do "Shed Stuff" themselves at the same time.
Hope you enjoy my channel, so if you haven't already, consider Subscribing and stick around if you would like to see and watch what I build next.
Feel free to send me a message if you would like to help out my channel.

Well you need to keep those tires aired up
I'm so glad i found this channel, very interesting, you must have made insanely accurate measurements 4 times over to be that satisfied with the placements. also "An ant is biting my leg" that was both confusing and sporadic. Thanks for Doin Stuff, its definitely interesting and looks like fun.
Thanks for that, glad that you liked it all 👍
Build the door out of the four pieces
Cool idea, thanks 👍
The staff joke got me and I am not mad about it.
Killer work mate!
Thanks mate 👍
Great stuff mate, Love your work. Just subbed so i can see what you get up to next.
Thanks mate 👍 you can never tell what's next 🤣
LOL What I learned about Stuff, If you get more storage space, you'll just fill it with more stuff LOL . with the old cut outs you can make an over hang window Shade (Eve), or maybe closable shutter for the windows.
Nice idea 👍
Stumbled across your channel. I love it!! I collect & work on old Suzuki mk1 Vitaras/ Escudos. Mainly soft top. I taught myself. From people like you. On TH-cam. So much satisfaction. Hearing a motor turnover. That you’ve fixed. 🙏👍👏👏. I think I’ll do a welding course…
That's awesome, it's so satisfying to bring them back to life 👍
Great result, very jealous, I need more storage too!
Can never have toooo much storage 🙄
Nice build for your climate, wouldn't work with out a heater here in Germany... Did you plugged in the charging from the van to the batteries as well? Most times you will be parked in the shade and don't get that much from the solar panel, charging with the alternator keeps your batteries well up. These models of van were very popular around here, but they all vanished these days, too bad, they are quite spacey... Thanks from a new subscriber, keep up the interesting videos! 👍👍👍
Thanks for that. I didn't connect the car alternator as yet but would like to. 👍
Use the extra cutout steel for a retaining wall under the containers 👍
Thanks for that 👍
You may be able to use the cut outs for a ramp for getting in and out of Trailor fill the voids in the ribs with wood stock Just a thought 🤷♂️
Good idea that one 👍
Always gal spray your welds straight away.
Copy that 👍
YOU CAN MAKE A SWIMMING POOL WITH THE SCRAP MATERIAL LEFT OVER
WHERE THE PLYWOOD FLOORING IS UNEVEN ALL YOU NEEDED TO DO WAS TO TAKE YOUR GRINDER AND JUST GO ALONG THE EDGES WHERE IT'S NOT RIGHT AND JUST GRIND IT UNTIL ITS LEVEL THAT WOULD HAVE SAVED YOU SO MUCH TIME IT PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN ANY LONGER THAN AN HOUR OR LESS OH WELL LIVE AND LEARN THAT IS WILD YOUR DOING ALL OF THIS BY YOURSELF DON'T YOU HAVE ANY MATES WHERE ARE YOUR MATES AT 😊😊😊
When you have equipment to do it, you do need help 🙂
That is the best placement for those, you created a roof underneat. The windows are the bests thing also. When I have one, I need to get someone to weld that frame up.
You have installed the Windows inside out. Flanges need to be outside. The weep hole's are now inside, water is now going to drain inside mate. If you use those cut outs to make large awnings, so the rain doesn't hit the windows you should be okay.
Yes I do know about the flanges but the screws would be exposed to a potential break in. The awnings sounds like a good idea though. Thanks for your thoughts 👍
You could make some garden beds out of the steal
Thanks for your idea 👍
Cool video keep it up 👍
Copy that 👌
You can make planter boxes out of the steel you cut out round the top you put wood then you can paint it the same color as the shop so they look nice then you can plant food or flowers in them
Thanks for that 👍
Bloke shit
Security window shutters
Nice idea, thanks for that 👍
What a excellent vi really appreciate seeing it. I just hate snakes and mice like everybody else.
I'm 51, so tired of rolling under and having the wrong tool. My lift has been a godsend having my tools underneath on a cart.
You got that right my friend, I couldn't work on cars without one now...
Spray gun and no mask god damn
Thanks for your input 👍
and great to see the classic old lathe being of good service. Needs a bearing or two ?
Another great video mate. Really enjoying this build. Chris TRP
Thanks Chris 👍
With a couple of posts, you could use the leftover cutouts as a quick retaining wall.
I like your thinking 👍
the concrete is used as a counter balance to make them more steady on railways . love the vid M8 here from Canada ! woot! some beautiful country there
Thanks for that 👍
Nice one Jim , cheers , shaneno, nelson, nz, 👍🍺
Thanks Shaneo, have a good one mate 👍
Weight reduction
Yep, it makes it fast for sure 😎
Tuff unit will it be road registrated
That's the plan, stay tuned! 😎
You’ll probably need a strut brace to support the panels. Could that spare sit on that above the engine?
use them to make a retaining wall. Your property has a lot of elevation change, im sure there is an area where you could create a small retaining wall to get more space and it would look good.
Thanks for the idea, I'm not sure if I'll have enough left over but it's worth considering 🤔
I’ve just found your channel. Your building technique is much like my late grandfather’s. Use what ya got. Mend and reuse. I love it!
Aww, thank you. I'm glad that you liked it 👌
Happy to see you back on this project. Always loved the subaru brat. And this one should be rugged with good looks
I think you're right my friend 👍
Certainly made some space in the engine bay, could probably fit a big block in there now, lol. Maybe you could just remove the remains of the old spare wheel carrier - air chisel?? Looking good.
That’s a good idea, I hadn’t even thought of that! 👍
Is it a " saw " or a " sore " or a " soar " ?.
Yes....
Great content. Pity about the rust in the body. Have a good break at Xmas. Cheers from NZ.
Thanks for that, and a Merry Christmas from Australia! 😎
How about an Awning out over the windows to keep the sun down a bit.
Thanks for that, good idea 👍
Nice job! Loved the vid
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! 👍
You can put them over the windows to give shade and reduce the amount of water hitting your windows.
Great idea, thanks for that 👍
w have the j2.3 here in canada, but only in a little car called suzuki "aerio" looks to be the same block as most of the j series suzuki engines are , we use these to swap into the 1st gen sidekick ..aka vitara ....some of the names are diferent depending where u are and where the japanese exported them to ...great video i also seen that u have the kashkie there in aus...they are rare over here ....Cheers !
Thanks for dropping by and it's interesting to see different models with similar but different names 😎
Love ya work that door turned out sick so did the windows 👌🏾😍, you should just paint that black ply around the door green.
Thanks for the ideas 👍
use of cuts for window awnings or external door entries as mini awnings? just a thought, or rain deflectors for the point where you are attaching the containers to the existing building.
I like that, good thinking! 🤔
Take your circular saw and set the depth so you can only cut 4.mm hold fennce up and just cut back and forth to make a little ramp (problem solved )
Maybe rotate the door so it become left swing? Might need new lock for that.
Thanks for your thoughts 👍
Just a comment to show appreciation and support for the hard work!
Thanks mate for that 👍 appreciate it 😎
Make garden beds outa the left over bits of steel. Make 2 boxes compost bins mulch. Your on land. Veggie patch ahy.
Thanks! I'm not much of a gardener though 😅
Id chuck some stairs up side the container keep that view ahy.
I like your thinking, stay tuned... 😎
