Would a short shaft outboard not be a better option?
Rain cover construction looks great! Do you have a drawing or more detailed info om how to build it?
Hi mate, really enjoyed this vid. I am an engineer, and will be doing this mod to my boat soon. Quick question, do you know if the transom is solid plastic? Or foam filled?
Hi, I have a 370 in light grey, it’s great. Where did the railing with the rings come from on the rear gunwale come from? Many thanks!
@@AJSchwey Hi AJ, I had them made from stainless steel tubing with welded nuts at each end. Then used a threaded eye bolt each end to secure it to the hull and to tie off the rope. Easy cheap build that I highly recommend for your Whaly!
@@AJSchwey if you're on Facebook search m.facebook.com/groups/whaly/?ref=share this FB page is full of smart people that share all sorts of ideas.

@@TheBestCartoons1 yes very happy with the boat 😀
I would of went the merc 25hp they are a 3cyl , cool boat i haven't seen 1 here in Aus
that fuckin music
These boats are so old and they still haven't fixed issue of proper fitting of outboards! Says that company doesn't care
4:51 weird i have a 370 witch a 20hp and a 11pitch blade. my speed is 45kmh(24.29knots) and i stay dry the whole time. Unless i get a big wave
Sorry if u have already answered my Q but it didn’t show up in the comments. Here it is again: how do u get back into the boat from the water. Here’s no step on the back of the pontoons ( like the Whaly 400) and I don’t see a ladder. Thx for the videos. Can’t decide between a 370 and a 400. 2 medium size adults mostly but may also carry 3 small kids). Your mate across the big pond. Don
Hey Don, mate super easy just to lift yourself into the boat from the side to get out of the water. Think I should make a video of me doing this to show how easy it is. If I had to choose between the 400 and the 370 it would be an easy decision, 400 over the 370 all day!
If the transom height on the Whaly website is listed at 20”, why doesn’t a 20 inch Yamaha shaft match up? Why is the cavitation plate so low?
One of those life question every Whaly owner asks Don........
How does a swimmer re-enter the boat from the water? Ladder? Yours is a 370, right, with no insets on the rear of both pontoons as seen on the 400? Enjoy your videos as I’m seriously considering purchasing a Whaley, either a 370 or 400 to pass along my knowledge of the creeks and estuaries to my grandchildren while I’m able. I’m 71 and still very healthy and active but don’t want to do the BIG boat thing again. Your recommendation would be helpful. Thx! Don from Charleston, SC USA
자연배수 하고 어창이나 만들어라.
Thanks a lot ! What is your outboard ?
Cheers, it's a Yamaha F25i. Fantastic outboard so much power
I am now driving this 25HP Yamaha EFI for more than four years. What a great engine! Reliable like nothing else and lots of fun
Hi, is there enough room for a second small outboard at the back ?
No, not much room for a second smaller outboard for the 370. Seen some smart people make a mounts on the Whaly 400 for a second outboard.
It would be great if there would be a bow plate accessory for GPS trolling motor
Very sensible precaution
Amorphous Sun Simulator with it's unnatural bluish light on the horizon
i use my 370 with a 25HP 2T ,,,3 spearos fully loaded,,,works perfect 20 knots traveling speed ,,,,,with a very low consumption,,,,the whaly material has almost no fricton or water drag....!!!
Hi. Whit a that little wave from another bouts it's heavy to pass end cames a lot of water?
I got a 370 too with a 15hp and aluminum trailer, very light package .....do you have wetting issues when running the boat?? could you solve it?? nice job with the PVC tubes.......... greetings from Peru!!!...
Yeah wetting issues is normal, even on a fantastic day. If I get the weight correct in the boat and hold a speed of around 15-20 knots I can hold the bow up making it a dryer ride. To be honest it's just one of the crazy perks of owning a 370, you will get wet! I posted a video a while back of me going out on a windy/choppy day, that says it all! Thanks for your comment. 🤙🏼
Great you are back! After time would you say rising the transoms was worth it? What are the biggest changes after raising it. Thank you&Cheers
100% worth the small investment of a few hundred dollars. The boats handling increased as the outboard works more efficiently, saving on fuel as the motor doesn't have to work so hard plus the holeshot to plane is a lot faster. Total win everywhere.
Another question to you mate. Can you tell me you’re full Prop Details. Something like 9 7/8 with 10 1/2 pitch or so.
Looks like good fun! Wish I was there
Always a seat available bro!
Great to see you both out there again enjoying the elements on and below. G
Would this be good for a beginner
Fantastic boat for a beginner, as you can see my daughter can easily operate it. Handles rough seas really well also.
Minor point, but your sound quality isn’t helped by background music when you’re talking. Otherwise, great video.
What size is the boat 455.
4.50m or 14’9”. Go to whaly.com for more info.
Very very annoying music please talk about the motor that's what we are here for. Have to keep playing with volume because of the music , video is ruined. But love the motor and want to get one. Sorry to say that the music made me nauseous. Update, i got the motor.
What prop size you have on the outboard ??
Hee i have the same transom mod on my whaly 370 and the same engine now i have the quastion what size prop you run on it i have the problem now wit 1 or 2 People in the boat it Come in plane but it takes long time and whit 3-4 People the boat never Come in the plane Happy to if you react thnx
👌👌👌👍👍👍👍🛥🚤🚤💸💸💸?
Hello, I live in an area where the water is very rough all year round, would you recommend this boat? thanks greetings.
Been following your channel for a while. Seems to be a wealth of knowledge from the community on your boat set up. I am chasing all the similar problems I have the same motor but electric trim on a f14 frewza. I am about to fit a permatrim to help getting on the plane. Cavitation plate is 25 mm from hull plane so don’t think I am too far off height but more than 3/4 throttle the power trim won’t work cause of load can hear the hydraulics like when putting motor down on tilt motor support. I can’t find any where why I am having this problem if any one else has had this or know why? Anything below 1/2 throttle trim works fine. Cheers
Thanks for following Simon, check out a awesome Facebook page call 'Whaly Owners Group-members PolyWOGs!' Some fantastic people on that page that post similar issues you're facing. Ask to be added you won't regret it.
@@Deep_Down_Productions great thank you Gavin.
I’m planning to purchase a 370 this summer. Do you recommend this boat? Any particular problems that you can mention?
Do you still have the whaly?
I sure do, New Zealand weather this season has been absolutely atrocious, so haven't been getting out much. When the weather clears more videos will be coming out!
Harika
Is there a manual choke on this outboard 25L
No manual choke as it's battery less EFI.
Thanks- I bought 4.55 Whally - Haven’t launched it yet - Spring in Ireland / galway - weather was bad now on the improve
I have The 435 and the same 25 hp Yamaha. I always thought that the motor sat too low in the water and I got a lot of spray at the back of the transom that seemed to indicate this. I should look into the same modification. How has it worked for you?
Hi Tom, best mod you could do on this shape Whaly! Will make a huge impact on performance.
@@Deep_Down_Productions Great job! Looks like a blast for our Seattle area. Question: Do you have a measurement from the center of the prop to the transom height they give you? I am a greenhorn I admit…If it had a 9.9 hp or it was a Mercury or something then how do you determine the ideal position? By trial and error? Thanks.
😢
Hi mate ive just purchased same motor and identical looking hydrofoil from oz propellers. Before you bolted yours down did it sit flush on your cav plate? Mine sits up a fair bit but Oz props rekons this is normal and will flex down when i bolt it up however the gap looks massive between the foil n plate. Im a bit reluctant to drill into my new outboard and waste 180 bukeroos on something that wont mount properly.
Hey Scott, nah my one also didn't sit 100% flat at first but it did once it was bolted down. I also shat my pants about drilling into my nice shiny outboard. For me well worth it.
Not supposed to be flushed with engine running…ruins the thermostat
Any outboard that hasn’t got a flush port should be flushed when it is warm to ensure the entire cooling loop is cleaned not just outside the thermostat

Interested in why you chose the Permatrim rather than hydrofoil wing(s). I've used hydrofoil wings on 50-75hp outboards and found them very effective in reducing bow lift whilst also not interfering with power trim.
Apart from the performance reviews I read about the Permatrim I also liked the fact that it came in the matching Yamaha blue/grey paint. Looks like a factory part.
I own a Whaly 370 too, but i run it with a 15hp Yamaha Enduro outboard, didn't know that Yamaha was manufacturing the 4 stroke pulling start up to 25HP...It willl be a good option changing the Yamaha 15 2stroke for a 25 four stroke, considering that battery won't be needed with the 25hp...your comment please...
Love the Yamaha F25 combo with the 370, HEAPS of power and uses next to no fuel due to the fuel injection. If I had to do it again I'd buy the electric trim model instead of the manual model so you can lift the bow at top end speed with the trim of the outboard.
A fantastic Dutch product
Can you trim your F25 both up and down while running? I ask because my Honda BF20 trims down while running but not up. Thanks…enjoy all of your videos!
Hi Ronald, sadly no I bought the manual trim version. Can only trim once fully stopped. A year on I wish I had spent the extra dollars and bought the auto trim as it would of solved all my boat trim issues.
Do you know if the power trim models have a "shallow water drive" feature that lets the motor kick up if you hit an underwater object? Every power trim motor I've used didn't kick up. I have an older F15 manual trim that does kick up. I'm thinking of upgrading to a 25 with electric start and power trim, but I don't want power trim if it doesn't kick up because water levels fluctuate a lot where I fish and there are lots of obstructions that move around quite a bit. Thank you for any info !
Good looking boats - I have the Pioner 15, quite a similar concept. Seen a few of these up here in Shetland, Scotland. Enjoy yours!
Nice! I looked into Pioner boats but at the time I couldn’t buy one in New Zealand. How’s the ride on your boat, is it a dry ride in rough seas?
@@Deep_Down_Productions I think that most of these boats sit quite flat in the sea, so they can all be a bit “wet”. The secret i think is to try to get the bow up in heavier seas. I also have a Bonwicto and that’s a better sea boat, easy to get the bow up! We all try to go off in calm weather though! 😅
