Wow how the changes to the town in the years Newport was a great town then for shopping and our city has really gone downhill sadly in the years since wildings m and s etc and the Newport centre now gone 😕

When Newport town centre was actually worth visiting. It certainly isn't now - it's a run down tip of a place!!

i from caerphilly i went to heights 2000 in february 94 for 18th birthday bash and red dragon were there. those were the days i am now 50, thursday nights in ritzys during the nineties over 25s. i think i'll pass getting in now, lol.

Can someone remind me what the record shop in Kingsway was called? We used to come up from Cardiff sometimes on a Saturday. Records and poster shopping then chips and gravy from Ferris before getting the bus back. Great video and sweet 80s memories.

Great video I'm 57 and loved them days, have still got 3 Grifters when kids were hardcore getting caned at school bunking off etc not like the handbag carrying wimps of today.

I hated John Frost square. Such a horrible place. No soul. But the in shops of Kingsway epitomised the UK "mall". They should never have been allowed to pulldown the Victorian era frontage that preceded it all.
