Ayo Edebiri Can Do It All
Ayo Edebiri is a rising star after her portrayal of Sydney Adamu in The Bear - winning individual awards at the Emmys, Golden Globes, and Screen Actors Guild.
The show helped Edebiri break Hollywood starring in Theater Camp, Bottoms and this summer’s box office hit Inside Out 2 as ‘Envy’.
But this success didn’t come overnight - it took years of finessing her craft. First in stand-up and skits on Comedy Central alongside Rachel Sennott; then writing for shows including Big Mouth, Dickinson and What We Do in the Shadows; before acting in Abbott Elementary, Black Mirror and Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
This is the story of how Ayo Edebiri became a star: stand-up, writing, producing, acting and directing - what can’t she do?

Jeremy Allen White: An Uncomfortable Star
มุมมอง 5K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Jeremy Allen White is on top of the world after his portrayal of ‘Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto’ in The Bear - winning individual awards at the Golden Globes, Emmys, and Screen Actors Guild. The show helped White break Hollywood starring as ‘Kerry Von Erich’ in The Iron Claw in 2023, and he broke the internet earlier this year with his Calvin Klein campaign - but this fame was never guaranteed. After...
Nicolas Cage Is No Joke
มุมมอง 4.7K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Nicolas Cage has done it all - starring in more than 100 movies - from cult classics Vampire’s Kiss, Raising Arizona and Longlegs; to Hollywood blockbusters The Rock, Face Off, Con Air, Gone In 60 Seconds and National Treasure; and who can forget his Oscar-winning performance in Leaving Las Vegas. But in spite of a career spanning five decades - he became a parody after memes and montages mocki...
Jeremy Strong: A Misunderstood Genius
มุมมอง 211Kปีที่แล้ว
Jeremy Strong became a household name after his gripping portrayal of Kendall Roy in Succession - and has gone on to win a Tony Award, star in the Broadway play An Enemy of the People and Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice. Success brought huge scrutiny after a 2021 New Yorker profile, which documented his so-called ‘method acting’, went viral. Strong’s acting style divided opinion not only onl...
From season 1 of Shameless. I knew he'd be something special.
Their are absolutely countess pretentious actors. Female and male. But I dont think hes one of them. He may certainly go to extremes at times. And maybe a pain at times. But at the end of the day. Hes not Chevy Chase. lulz
Watch him in the apprentice, absolutely class.
He is my favourite part about the show. His performance is sublime. Wonderful actor and very underrated in Hollywood’s zeitgeist.
This mf wearing a tobe
Jeremy - please don't change for all the naysayers . I miss Succession - in great part due to your extraordinary performance throughout. Ryan- thank you for putting together this video. Great job!
He’s an amazing actor and clearly very dedicated. However, lots of other actors are performing on the same level and seem to be able to maintain a healthier balance of character vs self, as well as camaraderie with their co-stars.
As someone who's acted I definitely think you could use this to process your own feelings of rejection and isolation we all feel somewhat in our lives
Seeing his interviews, I feel like I am just watching Kendall.
I love when we call actors genius like they read the script better than anyone else
if he had a British accent all the interviews that got him being called "pretentious" would suddenly change to "elegant" or some shit
I discovered you this morning through your video essay on Jeremy Strong, which I absolutely loved. Now, seeing one on Ayo felt like a treat. Thank you; great content! Looking forward to more. 😊
Calling an actor pretentious for using the word "dramaturgically" really shows how deeply we fell into anti-intellectualism.
I absolutely love him!!! Shameless and The Bear are BOTH amazing shows!!! I’d LOVE to work with him
You only mention successful side of Method Acting. Show us why lots of MA actors behave like assholes on set, why so many of them are drug, alcohol or sex addicts. Everyone is responsible for his/her own life but filmmaking is teamwork, so we should be responsibly aware of our relationships not only about character incarnations.
I Love him
He’s one of the greatest actors of our time-and one of the heartbreaking victims of the disgusting anti-intellectualism that permeates our time.
Whats the christmassy song playing around 2:35?
Bullshit. Strong Performance Form Jeremy 💪
basically he is kendal roy
Who's seen The Apprentice Film? I'm so excited I'm going tomorrow. Don't delay I think it will be gone from theatres very soon and who knows if a tv network will have the b*alls to pick it up. His portrayal of Roy Cohn looks Amazing in the promos.
Thanks for watching!
I’m sorry but he’s a Yale grad with an Emmy which you’re considering and outsider. This entire argument was a ridiculous.
People with no grasp of art or artistic endeavor find it easier to criticize; people like Jeremy look alien to people who are perennial pessimists because they have zero understanding or depth to look inward and find their own passion. "Don't criticize what you can't understand" - Bob Dylan
Sounds like he’s intense because he approaches acting like his life depends on it. Because it did from the very start.
very talented dude. hope he makes it. nice.
Fine line between genius and crazy
What is the song at 2:30?
I AM THE ELDEST BOY!11!1!!!
His commitment to roles can be dangerous for his mental health, but goddamn does he gove good performances
Who ever thought being original, educated and truthful was being pompous. Desperate writers will write all sorts of bull.
Top tier stuff as always.
Thanks for watching!
Yeah he’s pretentious, he’s an actor who truly loves and lives his craft. It’s a part of the job. It feels more real than Ryan Reynolds or one of the “witty sarcasm” guys
Thanks for watching!
You deserve more subscribers. Awesome production quality. I think I missed a bit more of your own personal input on this one as opposed to your other videos. Either way, keep up the great work man, the algorithm will soon push you front and center.
Hi mate - thank you so much for your lovely comment - really appreciate it. Will keep the videos coming and like you say - let the algorithm do it's thing. Thanks again!
He’s what we commonly call, a douche face. I mean, just read the pile of conceited bs his fans write all over the internet. They probably think it makes them sound smart, when it’s the exact opposite. It’s outstanding…
nice video ! I'm interested to know where do you get the background music for your videos
Hi - thanks for watching! I use MotionArray for music.
WTFFF, what about "dramaturgically" is nerdy??? WTAFFF!? What are these interviewers paid for? Did they go to school at all? How brain-dead must society be to call him pretentious? I figure people hate on everyone that does sth with his/her life because they are too lazy for that...
Thanks for watching!
Why was there drama for him saying "dramaturgically"? Americans are so dumb... I'm French, English is not my mothertongue, and I know this word... Good, just because you are ignorant does not make those who knows pretentious.
He just seems like a very authentic, thoughtful person
Agreed! Look forward to seeing more of his performances - thanks for watching!
Humboldt County was actually a fantastic film.
Thanks for watching!
i see him as very insecure and hiding from the vulnerabel core of him
Each to their own - thanks for watching.
@@ryanramgobin not saying he isn't a genius but his obsession is fuelled by his fear of what he is or isn't deep down
This is making me want to re-watch all 3 seasons of the bear! Really nice summary of an amazing actor hitting his stride
It’s always worth a re-watch… even the dinner episode! Thanks for watching - glad you enjoyed!
I haven't seen The Bear but your video is whetting my appetite! Always enjoy your stuff, thanks Ryan
Thanks for watching!
The Title made me thought of the actual animal saving his life, Good Video!
Hahaha! Maybe a tweak to title is needed. 😅 Thanks for watching!
Man, video looks very nice. Keep going ❤

im happy Nicholas cage is getting the recognition he deserves.
Thanks for watching!
THAT was awesome..I have always had a deep appreciation for him, even when he was down and out, I always saw him as the underdog, so to speak. Not that he wasn't famous or obscure, 2:03 but that he could always win, no matter what life's obstacles. I am so glad he pushed through and handed him. I can't wait to see Long legs. !
Thanks for watching - glad you enjoyed!
Great actor, thanks for the video.
