Marlin 30AW 30-30 Winchester at 100 Yards
My wife bought mine in 1979
I have a late 80s version and a newer model with a different charging handle. I am looking for a squirrel model to add to my collection. The late 80s one was my first firearm purchase, which was made the day I turned 18. I paid $79 dollars for it at a K Mart . I will never part with it. The newest one was bought from a friend with an additional synthetic stock for not much more than the original. I find that I enjoy them much more than the Rugers in my collection. It's ironic that Ruger now owns the rights to manufacture what was at one time its greatest competitor in the rimfire market. Sad times we now live in. Marlin has always been my favorite brand.
You need to verify your zero at the 30 yard targets and be able to consistently hit before moving on to the 100 yard target.
They used Beachwood in the early models
I've never used that bullet will it bring down a big buck
With that shaky bench set up and modified shooting stance it's a wonder that you hit the target at all. Then it's well known that smooth bore shotguns, especially with non-adustable sights are inherently inaccurate, relatively short range firearms. You got exactly what I expected. IF ... you already have a .30-30 I don't know why you would invest time and money in attempting to make that 500 shoot. For a few bucks more your could purchase a rifled 500 that would give acceptable accuracy # 100 yards.
@@rudygeorgiamulesandcountry1594 I mean I’ve got a .30-30, 243, and a .270. I don’t like archery, so the next step is getting a deer with an SKS, then the shotgun, then one day a revolver maybe, who knows. Investing the time to get better with my long guns is not time wasted.
Insert “they had us in the first half” meme
Where'd you get that piece of candy im asking for myself
For twenty years, I shot an M-16 and an AR at a twelve inch bull, six o'clock hold. I put ten rounds in a 12 in bull every year for twenty, at 200 yards/meters. The rifle is only as good as the marksman. I've got several 30-30's all are good for putting it in the black at 100 yards. I shot each rifle as a Marine for two or three years each duty station, each was sighted in on my first "range detail" and maintained that sighting until I left for a new duty station. If well cared for and stored, they should retain their sight alignment. John McClain, GySgt, USMC ret.
Just me self one in New Zealand
One drop of paint to hold and to show if moved.
Ugh I hat finding guns in candy last time I got ar15 with extended mag
I almost showed this to my parents and I’m so glad I didn’t 😅
No one has ever found anything in halloween candy. 1 guy poisoned the neighborhood kids while trying to kill his son with pixy stix, and this just never ends now. Copy paste copy paste copy paste... well, i guess i know what im trying next year. 🙄
She could have choked on that
I found 3646457675647567666 b1 bombers in my Milky Way stay safe
I was going to call BS till I seen the rifle 😂
Had a whole .50 cal in my cake for my birthday, don’t trust bass pro shops 😭
😮😮😮😮😮
Just discovered the video. Great gun! Mine is a 1973 and looks similar to your '81 but has a yellow wood stock. Internally though it looks different from all three of those. Especially where the bullet enters from the magazine as the spring used to push the bullet from the magazine into the receiver does not rest on the entrance port but holds it's tension by means of holes on the side of the frame. The whole setup looks slightly more complex and I'm guessing that Marlin streamlined this down sometime in the late 70's to lower the number of parts needed.
That's a nice toolbox you have there. Congratulations.
Subsonic is the way but i thought the stingers should do better then that especially around 30yrd and the quiet sounds real quiet n groups well for small game is a def.
Hardy har har
😂
Great video You put meat in freezer brother. That's all I wear red plaid jacket and a cap , like the guys up in the Big Woods up North !! (Track them in the snow ) We don't have enough snow in Northwest Georgia to do that !lol Flannel shirt, blue jeans setting on a 5 gallon Bucket with a 30-30 taken a lot of deer Since 1969 like that . Got my best buck opening day 152 4/8 Really enjoy your videos they're great brother keep making them 👍.
I got a model 60 for my sixteenth birthday in 1971. It has the squirrels on the stock and 18 round magazine. I put a Weaver Marksman 4X scope on it and it was my squirrel gun for many years. I still have it but don’t shoot it much nowadays. I think the wood is birch if I remember correctly.
YO. Good video. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Very nice
So the real question is are you hunting with it
That’s the plan! Just got two the past weekend with my .270, so now I can get creative.
Let’s normalize checking candy right after leaving a house so we can know who did this shit
be careful yall i found a whole ass crippling student debt in my snickers bar the other day 😭
Can you do a update video on this rifle?
@@loriewallace9348 Sure thing! I plan to get it back in the deer woods soon.
@@YonderOak thanks so much
Had me at the first half ngl
I deadass got worried for a minute
From my understanding, there haven't been any actual cases reported of contaminated candy. The original case was where a father put metal in his son's candy for insurance purposes. However, finding former soviet munitions in rollos is not unheard of.
I have an old beater '94 made in 1968. Picked it up for $250 maybe five years ago. The front side is actually bent slightly to the right. I just hold it and visualize where that post would be and it does well, though I admit I haven't taken it beyond maybe 40-50 yards out. It's definitely a fun gun to have, part of my "Western roundup" I've built up. Thanks for sharing.
Groups open up once barrel heats up. If you cant reload your own ammo than ya gotta try all the different types of ammo available and shoot the one that the most accurate. This was ugly Edit: also check the screws that hold the barrel clamps. If they get loose your groups turn into crap
I thought it was a flathead
Duuuude I found 187 British cannons 1395 muskets 1001 british soldiers 29835300 musket balls 23 British officers 1 British general and 1694 bayonets everyone be careful 😨😨😨
