Make a notepad of all your most common df commands, I find it very helpful. I have dwarf fort mode & adventure mode commands ready to go.

Neat idea. This is why I generally build an outdoor fishing shack over the stream... I also tend to wall (or partially wall) my settlements to stop problems with fighty animals. Of course, it's been a while since I've played, and I don't know if that triggers the new 'agitation' feature for wild animals.

I had to learn the lesson the hard way firsthand. First time ever in an untamed wilds biome. A few years go by with the wildlife being pretty friendly, besides the random occasional Bearman coming in and fighting my dogs/stealing my food. Dogs really don't like them, it seems. I thought the giant animals and mosquitopeople were pretty cool, and I was weeks away from the nearest elf or goblin site, so out of arrogance (and general disrespect to the elves, stupid treehuggers) I decided to build a massive log-cabin-tavern on 2z wood stilts. The first month was fine. One day, as my dwarves were laying the wall, the skies began to darken. Weird, no weather in sight, they probably thought... Then the birds attacked. Over a dozen agitated giant birds attacked my base at once, sweeping through the layers of caverns and making literal mincemeat of the dwarves. Within minutes, a 73-dwarf strong fortress was reduced to a graveyard. Not even the livestock were spared.

My brother in Sanguinius, try multiplayer - you will not regret it. Combat and movement seem clunky for me, could be better. All in all 8/10.

WH40K is a sci-fi/fantasy setting, not really a scientific world. Its an absurd grim dark fantasy setting in the future, but its awesome as its quite unique

Aluminum has the same value as Platinum. Don't waste your aluminum on barrels and wheelbarrows. That's statue/ chest/ cabinet/ throne/ coffin metal right there.

In DF, blunt weapons are only effected by the weight of the material making heavy but soft metals like gold and lead actually perfect use cases for them.

Clay is really cool, especially with glazing I made a fort that had all the natural resources, and I wanted to try make everything. The only stuff I didn't learn then was gem glass and minecarts. Now I'm waiting for adv to come out of beta and start a new world

I finally beat it it took me 2 weeks to do everything. I have to say its the best game i have played in a long time. Its the end of a era and I will miss the franchise. I am very happy with how they decided to end it. The scenes were very well done and filled with emotion with a splash of humor in just the right way. I actually teared up quite a few times. Rip kazuma we will never forget your story.
