i got an analogy i thought i should share. it popped up in my head after i listened to this. people use cars as a metaphor to explain their life path, so i thought fulfillment is the steering wheel. when you get a car, it has to come with a steering wheel. otherwise, you can't drive it. desire is you steering the steering wheel. you already have the fulfillment, the same way a car has a steering wheel. you steering the wheel is using your desire to experience what you want to experience. idk if that makes sense to anyone else, but it stuck w/ me so i figured i'd come back and share it.
