I was one of Jesse’s friends . I met him at Lowe’s in Torrance. We started to hang out after work and on our days off. I witnessed him go from all good to being in a wheel chair. When he was in the wheel chair I would go pick him up in Gardena and take him back to my apartment I would carry him up the stairs and we just chill and bullshit about life. My mom loved Jesse he was one of a kind type of dude. I love and miss you stumbles, we will see each other again.
I'm sorry to say that Chuy has passed away. But he is not forgotten. RIP cousin.
GOD BLESS YOU LUIS. I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU AND VERY HAPPY FOR YOU.
LA's the place! Love this so much.
Best cumbia guitarrist ever!!!
His poetry is very good. The video is shot and scored well as well. D.O.T. Marceo is also a poet out of L.A.
God bless you Luis.
Is there any way for the uploader of the video to go in and clean up the captions to make sure they match up perfectly with the wording of the actual poem? (Poem can be found here: www.rattle.com/love-poem-to-los-angeles-by-luis-j-rodriguez/). There are a few small discrepancies, and I think it would be useful to have the captions on when I play this video for my students so they can follow along more easily. Thank you for uploading this beautiful video!
I saw this video in my Friday art class yesterday.
Beautiful .definitely capturing the youths eye
This is the radical thing I love about Luis J. Rodriguez.

Hey man, this may sound like a "just-to-say" thing, but honestly, I admire you. This disease is not your choice but carrying on is your choice and needs courage.
I love the project. When do you come to Houston? Who is the original composer of La Pluma?

Hello-- I would appreciate PROMPT REPLY if possible. We produce a weekly program, viewable at www.immensepossibilities.org, for public television stations in Oregon and Northern California. Our latest episode will be focused on how art builds community. We would like to use part of this piece The use will be entirely non-commercial and would be credited "courtesy of John Cantú" or with other wording of your choice, while the video is showing and in the end credits. May we use this? We need a reply very soon. Thank you, Dustin Fuentes Assistant Producer Fuentesd@sou.edu

@betterfilm Thank you ... I can't say that MS is the worse that can happen to someone, however it is defetenally not essay, I can't blame them but it makes me fell very lonely and hopeless when I think of having a genuine and loving relation, children is out of question, years are passing by and the clock is ticking and potential partners run a mile away. Work situation looks impossible ... but one has to have hope and keep going. it could always be worse and I'm thankful that is it MS.
@bigplans01 Courageous people like yourself are why I was compelled to bring this story to the screen. You are a reminder to never take anything for granted and an inspiration to continue telling these stories. I thank you for sharing your story and keep you in my prayers.
thank you, I'm spanish but I live in England. I think we can all relate to your movie. Thank you, I have put it in my facebook page, with the hope that my brother will see it and understand a bit better, as he prefers not to face that his sister have MS. Also I relate to her situation with men, since I have MS, no one wants to date me, well some people want, as a "charatie", to make them feel better, but I refuse as I know that they do not have good intentions on there hearth.
I'm aware that separate than now living in England, I will neither be able to do any of my previous jobs that gave me so much satisfaction (under water photographer - cave diver - therapist). neither I'm able to learn how to play the guitar, a dream that I had for so long. I am now an un-employed holistic teacher "I manage to study for my degree!!!!! :-)". but not jobs at the moment for that sort of teaching ...
I'm Spanish, I always wanted to learn how to dance salsa ... etc, but for shines I never did. One day I decided enough was enough and I enrol to dance lessons, on the dated of my first dancing lesson I was admitted to hospital for 10 days and diagnosed with MS. I tried still to learn how to dance but I just couldn't do it too well and after the humiliation in some salsa parties I when I stooped.
Thanks for the compliments! I feel really proud when I get responses like yours!
Great job John!!!!!!!!!!!
