​@@MrVariant No worries, I'm aware of Fubar (and what it means) and it should be Hoover, but that particular video was about the group of five recruits in each game though which is why I didn't mention it there. There might a video about mistranslated names in the future, but it's difficult to make an interesting video about what is essentially just rambling off a bunch of names. I appreciate you watching and commenting.

@armorvil yeah it did seem off like it wasn't doing enough damage. I always go past the damage threshold anyway so it's not a big deal for me. you can get way too powerful in this game and in 2

Technically they're not infinite use, they have 255 uses because the error is that the quantity is set as 0 instead of 1, so when you use it rolls back to the maximum possible (255) instead of disappearing. But 255 uses is probably a lot more than any player will ever use. You shouldn't be able to have more than one but because they didn't expect it to ever happen the game doesn't check if you've exceeded the amount, unless you put it in the warehouse which resets the quantity to 1.

I am writing another episode about mistranslated names for sometime in the future, this one deals with the grouped names specifically. But yes, Gorudo is a very strange transliteration but he is also called Gordeau in the original translation at one point and he'll be Gordeau throughout the remaster. Mathiu is an interpretation but it's not really wrong either.

@@rawwleklueze That's good to know, him no longer called Gorudo anymore I've never heard of a Mathiu, Mathieu sure, it's French version of Matthew; the katakana is Ma-sshu/Ma-shi-u (I forgot) then again Sabin from Final Fantasy VI is called Masshu (Ma-sshu) in Japanese and look what we got in the rest of the world version; Strago was supposed to be Stragus and Cyan Cayenne, their names got shortened because of the six letters name limitation on the SNES and their name stuck thus remain unchanged to this day

Suikoden is generally mid after 2. You also don't have customization like ff jobs/equipment outside runes, and not even rare weapons as you use a blacksmith. 3 had bad dialogue from multiple viewpoints with silly paired combat, 4 had a slow ship though tactics busted panels and import was fun. Working designs did as they pleased back then, but people prone to overreact. I don't mind the different script honestly (the first 8 suikoden 5 hours are snoresville if not playing on a device that loaded it faster), and wish they gave options. I did find Viki to be forgettable. I admit 7:48 and 8:45 dragged terribly, and hope Jeane doesn't get covered up like square enix girls lol. 9:22 Hyundai suburu is why lol like hiroto Honda yugioh being Tristan Taylor. No Cars 🚗 Unicorn overlord, metaphor, persona 5, live a live and eiyuden have had some criticism with heavy dialogue or changes too.

Megaman x command mission female Marino but I get you lol sounds like Dan Marino 😂. Suikoden 5 had terrible pacing and loading/encounter problems. Never got the hype.

​@@MrVariant If you played slowly, you'd only finished the prologue part in 7 hours, lol Then you'll be with Barrows for so long before even unlocking your own castle. But in the end, it's still a good story about people wanting the best for the very same country but in such different ways.

@herusetiawan5399 glad you could persevere through that twilight forest after that prologue. 5 step encounters with 20 seconds loading in and at least 10 to go out, no thank you lol I'd rather play ff9 on old hardware and have a faster pace, though glad ps5 sped it up. I am surprised that Suikoden 5 isn't called progressive for those bishoujo makeup guys in da queendom lol needed Rupaul for the localization.

@ Funny you said FFIX when its ATB system is pretty slow with all the waiting and animation compared to regular turn based like Suikoden, Dragon Quest, or older FF before ATB. Maybe you just don't like Suikoden?

@herusetiawan5399 it isn't slow if you set ff9's ATB faster in options (and skip the pre-battle camera pan) let alone triple speed in the remaster (which also let you get instant equipment abilities though no trophies). Though having to pause first undermined speeding up the load times unlike ff7 or busted meltdown ff8 that sets defense and spirit magic def to 0 on bosses, while junctioning to supercharge vitality to no sell stuff. Triple speed helped summons, ff8 draw and limit breaks (not you blinding omnislash), let alone pixel remaster improved the older games' speed. Unless you wanna play ff3 ds hard mode damage sponges for 1 enemy. At least ff4 added augments, voice acting with more story, and mobile was easier for both. I don't know any other suikoden games that had performance problems other than 5, and 3 was all over the place with pairing. I do understand if people hated the 4 character limit in suikoden 4 or the boat, but I did like the story more with tactics similar to how suikoden 2 makes suikoden 1 better by adding Tir McDohl if you get all 108 and import.

Maybe if the Remaster of I & II sell well they'll do one of V as well. With improved loading times as well.

I am not, while I have some rudimentary knowledge I rely on the help and tools of people with more talent than me for such things. If I had that ability I'd probably be doing fan translation patches instead.
