If you know the K1 Junior karts, does breaking or leaning to shift weight matter, or is it all about the line? Im always looking for minor adjustments to the line and speed at the San Francisco track, to cut 0.2 seconds for the record. Is there a clear formula for the line, speed and breaking when you look at a picture of a track or do you have to drive it? For the K1 California State Championship, they ran the track in reverse, so there was no practice time. Thanks again for the videos and instruction!
based on the junior karts in Canada. the track is all gas no brakes. so taking the shortest racing line possible is advantageous.
@@dawsoncampbell Thanks!
What is the fastest lap ever recorder at mississauga
20.5 from my knowledge
Attta boy
Have you tried Mississauga K1?
yes I've run all K1 tracks in Canada. Toronto is my favorite.
I haven’t tried Toronto yet but I heard it’s good
do you ever stay on gas and gently dab the brakes, i know they tell you not to do that...but..?
nope, always one or the other.
Ima be honest this looks like the most boring track ever. Just hairpin after hairpin. Sure it’s “technical” but it’s the exact same thing the whole race
Did a 24’ on my first time at this track, I see myself doing a 23’ next time but 22 or lower seems super hard.
nice! book a session with me and we can get you into the 22's!
Do you break into the corners a lot or do you mostly just let your foot off the gas?
just letting off the gas. not using the brakes at all on a fast lap.
It looks pretty slow?
because of the downhill
Bro I’ve raised you I swear
what lol
How do I stop “bouncing” on the k1 speed karts?
go slower in the corners.
Are the races still only 12 laps?
yes:(
How do you handle the first hairpin and turn 8, what markers do you use to let off for the hairpin? and turn 8 almost being a double apex is it better to just hug the inside? or go wide to hit the second apex and get a better exit. My best is a 22 flat, so im itching to get into the sub 22s LOL
first hairpin I let off right before I start turning. turn 8 is the final corner right? aim to hug the apex around the whole corner.
@@dawsoncampbell Sounds great man, im going this weekend so hopefully i can dip into the 21 second area. Appreciate the help!
my pleasure. good luck!
Yo Dawson I can’t seem to get below a 23.00/22.8, I slide too much coming into turn 8 - any tips? I’m also like 6’3” and 190lbs so maybe that’s a factor?
weight is a factor. but you're only 40 pounds more than me so shouldn't be more than a few tenths. Try to slow down more by getting off the throttle earlier. it's really important not to slide there.
@@dawsoncampbell thanks for the quick reply bro, I’m gonna be going again in a week or two - I’ll have to try lifting earlier. Do you brake at all for rotation at the hairpins btw?
Nope just get off the gas and use the front tires to slow you down
@@dawsoncampbell thanks bro!
I was always spinning out at the hairpin
be more gentle with the brakes!
@@dawsoncampbell wow this really helped!! Brought my time down from 23s to 21.2s, still not 100% confident on the hairpin tho, hopefully will get better w practice.
@@Gaurav-kx7mp yay! happy it helped. nice time!
is a 20 flat decent for my first time in Electric karts?
yes, that's a great time! To me, that means you're using the proper racing line and not afraid to go full send into the corners. Keep it up! :)
0:02 im the guy standing beside the guy turning the karts on😂😂
hahaha nice spot!
ive seen you
this place sucks
good thing you watched my video now you don't have to go
@@dawsoncampbell I already went
Whats the rates? Was hoping itd be a tad bigger. Good driving mate
same as other k1 locations. Definitely pretty small! thank you!
Quick question, What is on the display on the wheel?
RPM and Gear. not sure how accurate the RPM is though.
hey are you still in cambridge
not anymore
i hit that track
Brilliantly put
Thanks!
What’s your favourite f1 facility in the gta? Thanks
assuming you mean K1. My favorite is K1 Toronto. 2nd favorite is Cambridge. 3rd favorite is Mississauga. and once VOLT raceway opens it'll be my new alltime favorite.
So slow
yup still fun tho :)
Do you only brake on the first hairpin after the ramp? For turn 2, are you full throttle or do you let off to let the kart rotate? Also, for turn 3, do you recommend hitting the apex or no? I saw another vid where you did hit the turn 3 apex.
yes I only brake at the fast hairpin. Turn 2 quick lift on entry then right back to full throttle. Turn 3, I'm undecided, I think it's faster to not hit it, carry the speed because you're full throttle from Turn 2 to the fast hairpin.
@@dawsoncampbell gotcha. for the fast hairpin, are you braking as soon as you let off or closer to the apex to get it to turn?
as soon as I let off. Gentle braking so u don't get a big slide
@@dawsoncampbell cool, appreciate the advice. I'm gonna experiment a bit next time I go there
@@hellakray8514 enjoy! I'll be back in the next few weeks to see how much the track has gripped up!
It looks grippier than I expected.
There is still a lot of dust on the track. I was dealing with understeer in almost every corner. But yes these karts hook up really well in the slow speed corners. it's fun :)
Great video as always. How much more time do you think there is to find?
Thank you! It's tough to say but my guess is that we'll only dip into the low 19's. I can't see an 18 happening.
@@dawsoncampbell 19.0 happened yesterday… this is exciting! Let’s see what happens!
What were your lap times looking like? If I were to guess mid 19s?
Yes high to mid 19's. Best of the day for me was a 19.599.
have you trued hamilton indoor go karts?
not in quite a few years.
from memory, which is better?@@dawsoncampbell
@produck3098 from memory Hamilton is pretty high speed. This track is slower, but more technical, and the bridge is fun. Also these don't smell of gas.
I’d say in my opinion K1 Speed is better.
I was just there
it's fun!

do you know how fast these go karts are?
Ontario is limited to 45kmh. but it feels like 60kmh coming down the hill lol
In your opinion, is it worthwhile?@@dawsoncampbell
absolutely. I drove 2.5 hours just to do a few races here. But if Toronto or Mississauga are closer to you, then it might influence your decision.
Have you ever been to Hamilton indoor go karts?@@dawsoncampbell
Way too narrow
yes not very good for racing. but good for doing qualifying/practice laps.
What a waste of money LOL
more fun than it looks. plus, it's the only go-kart track within over an hour drive!
@@dawsoncampbell K1 is worth the drive that's for sure I wouldn't pay money to be on this track.
Out of curiosity, how much do you weigh?
153 pounds soaking wet lol. Roughly the same when I set the record.
i really wanna go here
12 was an unfair pass
me or him?
@@dawsoncampbell him
That was a bad hit by him. But exactly one lap later you had the chance to take him on the inside on the same corner but you followed him. I watched it a few times and my I stint might be wrong...but I have taken quite a few people on that second hair pin by keeping tight to the apex and keeping the inside. Not trying to be a back seat driver...but by doing that you force him on an outside bad line for the next corner. You passed him fairly your way and cleanly...I would have been more aggressive on the Second hairpin the lap after he hit badly. I am going to watch again...but I believe you had the skill to get him there and slow him down significantly the next lap.
always trying to pass as cleanly as possible
in wich turn did u use the brakes?
don't use the brakes here.
@@dawsoncampbell Oh, and in which curve do you slow down the most? or you go all out 😅
@@oscaardmp9664 slow down the most for turn 4 (the first hairpin). Then turn 2. then the final turn. just releasing off the gas pedal to slow down enough for each of the above corners.
My iFly was bad. My instructor did not want teach or take my hand. My photo was no available I am never again waste of dollars.
I saw 21 sec lap, and I thought you were trippin' until I realized this wasn't my local track lol. I co to the one in sacramento California, and the fastest laptime is only 26 sec. It is a huge track, with smother turns
Haha I wish it was 26 seconds. That would definitely add a few more turns. Thanks for watching!!
Lol me watching with 30.505 lap time (for my defense, I can say I don't have my G2 and never driven anything other than forklift in my life😅)
Thanks for watching! Hope you learn a thing or two.
What an insane race! I’m #19, appreciate the acknowledgment on that dive bomb there. Kept getting thrown around but at the end of the day it’s always a blast getting out there for proper grid races, especially when all the quick guys come out. Cheers!
Good racing with you! Yes you definitely got the short end of the stick more than once lol
lol this race was definitely brutal as is to be expected with reverse grid. i find it really hard to pass others here without contact unless they’re way slower than you. been to this location a couple times and could only manage a low 21.7 at best, is there anything in particular that you’ve learned over time to be able to get in the low 21 or so range, or does it just come with experience?
Totally. Reverse grid is just asking for chaos. But it was sooo fun as you can tell by me laughing super hard at the end lol. 21.7 is a respectable time, check out my tutorial video and see if you're using the same racing line as me. Outside of that it's just about pushing each corner as much as possible without going over the limit and hopping, that kills your momentum. Feel free to reach out over Instagram if you'd like to chat more in depth. Always happy to talk racing.
thanks, i appreciate it! will be going back again soon and trying out a couple different things because it is always a ton of fun lol
Best indoor karting in Ontario !
whatever i learned seemed to have worked, because i did a couple runs and was able to get all the way up to a low 21.3, thanks for the help!
@@85ngcongrats on the epic time!!
great video, whats your opinions on the mississauga track vs the toronto track
Toronto is more technical, you actually need to use the brakes to be fast. But I've also done over 500 races at Toronto and less than 20 at Mississauga so I'm a little biased.
Been meaning to say this to you after the event but yeah honestly I apologize for cutting up on the inside like that. Definitely a stupid move and lack of etiquette for sure so I take responsibility on that one. Tried pushing it in an area I couldn’t. First grid race threw my cool off and got me frustrated after the guy behind me punted me on the first turn and drove me to the wall for 4 laps straight ruining the chance for me to get a good 3 way battle between me you and I believe Micheal. There was definitely a lot of contact within the grid races that should’ve been addressed. Anyways congratulations once again on the win well deserved!
Really cool of you to own up to it man! Especially with a reverse grid race, if you see a gap you've gotta go for it, so I understand. There was absolutely zero officiating and honestly I'm surprised they even gave you the position back after you got spun out. At the end of the day we all knew it was gonna be chaos and you kinda had to make passes with your front bumper so no harm no foul. Great racing with you man, you're super quick. Hope to race with you again soon.
It was great racing with you too! Also I appreciate your understanding about the situation thank you. But I’m definitely looking forward to another battle with you (clean from my part this time haha) and under better circumstances.
Worst driving standards I've ever seen😂
Zero driving standards lol
Thanks, I went for my first time and managed a 22.1, this should help. Also I wish these things had differentials, the hopping is annoying.
I hate the hopping. Nice lap! :)
@@dawsoncampbellthanks! That was with a full track and I was breaking for the high speed hairpin since I thought it was faster. I can't wait to go back and try your line and see if it helps.
Yeah traffic is a big factor. Please let me know if my tips help you improve your laptimes. Good luck!
Not anymore, best time was set today at 29.921 by Gobindar i think... BUT your videos have been helping a lot man!
Yes you're correct the lap record was broken by Gobindar today on 11/13/23. Tough luck as I held the record for 4 years lol. Gonna need a lot more seat time if I want to have another shot at beating it. He's the fastest guy at K1 Toronto right now so I'm happy to pass the throne to him.
Also, thanks for the support! Glad to hear my videos have been helping you out!
@@dawsoncampbell i was literally talking about it today with my gf, that u he’d that for 4 years, but itd be awesome if you come back again and set it again. Doing that I’d probably have the chance to meet you and ask for some advices in person 😉😅😂. Are u going back there ?
