During today's trip, first spot landed us a huge female crab almost 8" and the next spot was just loaded with big crabs!

I grew up down there Texas city the mainland off Galveston. I never figured out what time of year to get soft shell crabs molting when you can fry & eat them shell & all. DOES ANYONE KNOW? Is it October?

how fast should you pull tho,my crabs always gone before u can see’em 😢
Pull them at a steady rate. The trick is to pull them as fast as you can without them letting go. If they let go, next time pull slower but always at the same rate.

Just a little trick. If you put duct tape all of the way around the bttom , about 2 from the weights, you'll catch a lot more shrimp per cast. Check out 'The Old Couple Outdoors or 'Tug Trash Outdoors',. They have videos on how to set them up.

That "flounder" is an under sized halibut
Halibut are huge brother 💪
@@bluecrabs ..if they are allowed to grow to legal size. Flounders don't have those teeth.
Wait.. I just checked California Fish and Wildlife website. It says that there is no minimum size limit! It has always been that they have to be 22 inches to be legal. Can anyone confirm? If this is true you are good to go on the size. However, be aware that there is a bag limit of one.
Okay, looked again. Pacific Halibut are basically San Francisco and north. California Halibut are the ones in So Cal waters. The California Halibut needs to be at least 22''. Bag limit is two. Anyhow, liked the video!
@@dalmanza really wish I could catch some Halibut but all we got is flounder down here. Legal size is 15 in Texas with a bag limit of 5 I think. Oh well, gotta make do with what you got 🤷♂

Dude where were y'all? I've never seen so many huge crabs in one video. Makes me wish I lived in a coastal state. For me, crbbing is at least a 9 hour drive. 😒

I use waterproof boots for crabbing
You should wash it clean while whole body is intact not to lose inside fats and flavor.
8"... 😆 and sooks always have those long points, It is rare to see an illegal sook besides sallys/peelers... when your catching huge quantities of sooks you should but don't really have to measure them.... here anyway I know it's a little different everywhere.
