you better back bro i mean you can t just give up like this dont let that destryed you i beleive that you can dunk trust the procces
I’m doing as much as I can to make my knee healthier but it’s still not at 100% So it could be a long time until I can get back into it
Are you sure thats a back full youre doing
Yeah, is it not?
@@MatthewSanchez02 it looks like a standing cork kind of thing, the back full is straight inversion like the backflip with a 360
@@MatthewSanchez02 it is the correct idea of the back full i think you just need to get your legs more straight over your head to consider it one. Jump a little higher before you turn your shoulder and get more of a backflip set first to keep it straight instead of slanted like a cheat gainer
@@r1sebeats921 yeah I think it’s just the angle that I flip on
@@MatthewSanchez02 keep up the awesome work tho man just tryna help out a bit! I checked out your page you got some awesome progress going!!
Man you make it look easy
Man videos like this keep me going. Being a pretty tall kid who is likely gonna be around 6’4-6’5 with absolutely no vertical I just see this and it inspires me. Ima get that vert!
Just work hard and you’ll have that vert in no time. I believe in you!
Yessir!!
can you help us with give your workout please
What workouts did u do?
A lot of explosive leg workouts and plyometrics
I’m happy for you !
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
You got it! Subbed !
dont waste your time, this video is just 1 video replaying 20 times
Oh fr
Nice
bruv search up penultimate step technique, your missing out on a lot of height by not doing it properly
I have, I was working on it for about a month before I got hurt
Also you got some good form
Thank you
You gonna dunk that just wait
I hope, once I recover I’m gonna work hard for it!
Yup
You got this I’ve also been practicing and trying to get a fee you’re gonna get it to just wait as soon you’re gonna be able to be in a dunk contest Anthony Height can do it that means you can do it too
Thank you I appreciate this and means a lot to me! You’re gonna get it one day too!
I’m like you I practice three hours every single day I think you’re going to dunk that probably the same time I’m a dunk my hoop you got this buddy
Well I can say for you if you can at least touch the rim with two hands try to dunk it with the little ball and then try to dunk it with a normal basketball
@@Basketballisaac1234 I’ve gotten real close to touching with 2 hands but the best I’ve done is a dunk with a tennis ball
Weak
nah
Just need more 5-6 inch to touch the 10 ft rim
That should only take a few months to get. How tall are you?
Crazy vert! 35+ inches easy
I believe my highest jump was 38 inches
Mad props bro, what excercises have you been doing to improve your vertical?
well before I got injured, I was doing explosive body weight workouts, a little bit of weight workouts, and some plyometrics but I had just started plyometrics like a month before I got hurt
damn i chucked mine first try with zero practice lmao
how did that go lol?
Nah bro you’re a beast. You don’t even have a long penultimate step and you’re still touching the rim. I say you watch videos on penultimate step and you’ll increase your jump even more❤️💪🏾
thank you bro, means a lot. that penultimate step is the biggest thing slowing me down. I get comments about it a lot
U should bend lower when jumping, ur bodys practically almost straight when u jump
U need just a better set and you’ll be chilling, my technique is start with both hands by my right hip then swing in a straight line directly between my head and left shoulder until my arms are straight, keeping my eyes forward until they are straight to avoid traveling back, everything else look good bro
Thanks for the advice bro, I’m gonna be trying this out as soon as I’m able to
You seem to be landing heavily.
Yeah that’s always been one of my biggest problems. Do you know any ways to help with that?
Not exactly sure though. How I fixed mine is improving my ankle mobility. Do you have collapsed arch?
@@whoopassph no I do not have that but working on ankle mobility sounds like a good idea
Doing a heavy leg day on your first training day of the week and super setting you main compound lift with plyometrics will help A LOT. Example: 5x5 heavy squats + 5x5 box jumps as a super set.
I’ve gotta try this out whenever I am able to
When you run up try longer strides with a big push in your penultimate. The longer the stride the more speed will allow more power and the penultimate adds the icing on the cake
Quick tip, if you try to make your penultimate step (second to last) a bit longer you will be able to get a lower centre of gravity and then when you plant your block foot you will put more power into the ground
I recently started working on that like a month before I got injured, but once I’m healed and ready to go I’m going to start working on it again
I'm 5'6 close to grabbing rim.
keep working and you’ll be grabbing it in no time
long road ahead :) I am about the same height as you, but I cannot even touch the net:(
yessirr
I didn't have my best vertical until I was almost 27 years old. Then I gained weight and did not jump higher. Just keep in mind that jumping will improve for you over time !
That’s good to know! Once I fully recover from this injury I’m gonna start working harder to increase my vertical
I used a leaper hydraulic machine in high school and had a rim nailed to the side of my garage. As soon as dunking got easy, I would raise it a couple inches. Eventually in high school I could dunk a volleyball. Then, I finally shed weight after being fat and my vertical was 39 inches. At 6’1”, I could touch 11’ 3”. This was in the 80’s before all the knowledge of increasing the hops. I weighed 229 when I jumped the highest and was 27. Hang in there and keep jumping. The more you jump and see small gains, the higher you will jump
you can dunk bro check out (anthony height) hes a 5 6 profesional dunker
Lift weights and lose body fat it will make the process easier
I already do those
Do you squat? If so how much and how much do you weigh?
I actually haven’t squatted in a long time so I don’t know
Is it 10feet?
Yes
Courage 😅 mon gars
Keep it up, try setting first. then when in the air doing the twist. I got shin splints when I was younger and I believe the reason was I never set my fulls back then.
Where you at?
This is in Oklahoma
@@MatthewSanchez02 Sorry, I meant where are you in your progress I haven’t seen a post from you in a while
ohh sorry, but I tore my acl so I won’t be able to post for a long time
That's nice , i love to see this style of videos to motivate me. I'm 5'4 and i can touch the mid of the net on 10 foot
Keep grinding bro and next thing you know you’ll be touching rim
@@MatthewSanchez02 I think so 💪💪
I do not think the rim is 10 feet.
So have dunked on a regulation hoop? I read here you tore your acl
No I was never able to dunk on regulation, my highest dunk so far is 9’8
@@MatthewSanchez02 shame, but nevertheless impressive
I’m new but I hope your still doing your thang
Unfortunately not due to a recent knee injury
We are the same height
We gonna all make this!! Keep going!
damn bruh im 5'11 and get like 6 inches short of rim. How did you get that vertical bro?
just a lot of explosive leg workouts and jumping everyday also some plyometrics
I have about a 7'9 reach with my arms in the air and have a vertical of about 20 inches. my legs are not very strong as I have only recently started training them. Do you have any tips on increasing vertical? Also have you seen any correlation between being able to jump higher and being able to run faster? good luck on dunking btw.
And what height is the rim in this vid?
Make your last 2 steps as wide and fast as you can and go down with your knees being around 90 degrees. Then try jumping of two legs and practice as much as you can. Also watch videos of short dunkers and look at their technique and record yourself to see if it looks alike and how to improve if it doesnt. Good luck!
@@quantumleap7964 I believe the rim is just below 10ft maybe 9’10
@@arthurmahieu6832 thx
Cuanto mide ese aro
Bro te elevas 1 mtr
Bro I don't think u 5'6 ,its been 2 years and u still saying u 5'6 😂😂😂,but I respect u,keep up the work ❤
I appreciate it, but I stopped growing at a younger age than most, so when I started this dunk journey at 17 I haven’t grown at all and now I’m almost 20
@@MatthewSanchez02 oh,alr,my bad,didn't think about that 🤝,u actually insane than,keep up the work bro🤯❤
@@danildso2933 thank you bro, I really appreciate it a lot 💪🏽💯
You should also try jumping off one foot, I'm not a one foot jumper but after I started jumping off one leg in addiiton to two feet for a week I gained like 2-3 inches to my one foot vert off left foot. Atm I can only dunk a tennis ball off two on a 9 ft rim but I can grab rim off one foot, when before I wasn't even close off one foot.
I’ve been considering one foot but never officially switched since I jump so much lower off one, but whenever I get the chance I’ll definitely practice on making that switch
@@MatthewSanchez02 you don't have to switch, maybe just try training both two and one
yeah that might be better. Thank you
What's your max reach? I think I'm around 5'4 with max reach 6'10 (hands straight up in the air)
Last time I checked it was around 7’3-7’5
