I agree with you on how it wears due the sizing ect. The Speedy looks better due to it being refined with size. Although, I prefer the Explorer II. I think the gmt master ii’s look better than the Explorer II also. But for day to day wear, it’s the Explorer II for me. Thanks for commenting. My Explorer II is now on a bracelet and walah it looks great!

I was torn between the Sub/GMT & recently thought the GMT was the one….But the Sub is just too much of a classic with understated gentleman like features I feel like the GMT doesn’t quite match. Also the Sub has the brushed steel bracelet that can be worn with anything, whereas the GMT with the polished links scratches up so easily. But this is all opinionated & what keeps us coming back for more of the pie…

Gentlemen style is 100% true. And the GMT might be a bit off with the polished parts long term. What your saying about the sub is true. Everything. I just feel the sub has become to common amongst people who don’t love watches and it has made it harder for me to enjoy. Common with everyone to be fair! But the glide lock clasp and minutes bezel is special features I like.

This is what most brands do. Rolex forces them to sell a certain amount of DJ and gold models in order to get only a few stainless steel models. And if they don't move the inventory in a certain about of time they lose the license. They also force dealers to spend about 500k to make a specific Rolex area of the store with premium materials. Ever notice how they have pretty much a Rolex store inside of mayor's or tourneau?

I definitely won’t turn into that. That’s not the fun side of watches 😊 Some people had told me I shouldn’t have done that because it would seem like i’m wasting their time. But I hope they can see my integrity by removing myself from the other list, just to be clear and open on what I do want to buy. The watch enthusiasts are becoming back in power from these ad games. So hopefully the flippers move into another thing!

My 40mm Explorer 2 practically lives on different nato straps and 2 leather straps about 9 months a year. Every now and then I‘ll wear it on the bracelet again. Not because I’m afraid of drawing attention from thieves, but because I like it a little differen. But I am aware that it’s less conspicuous that way and so also feel a tad safer while travelling with it. Been to Italy and France with it that way, among other places😃 coincidentally I also own the 36mm Explorer, though that one I mostly keep on the bracelet, occasionally I put it on some brown leather straps. Mostly because the new 19mm lug width is less accommodating, otherwise I‘d swap it more often😌

Well said! The bracelets are iconic and recognisable. I did laugh to think some people may not know you can change straps on Rolex. But I guess people associate the polished areas as value on the pieces that are polished ect. And the strap would mean it’s a fake to them.

@@aussieexpatwatches They are still currently an Omega AD, but Omega has served notice and they now have a set time to sell stock as an official AD, then they can only sell it as pre owned.

This will happen a lot over coming months and years as Brands are going to sell their own watches rather than give AD's a 50% cut. They will cherrypick the best locations when the AD goes out of business. Same as mobile phone market did a while back.
