Hello Darren (?) and thanks for your no nonsense and very informative videos. I am a seventy year old carpenter and amateur boat (dinghy) builder . You use softwood frames for your panels, are they tantalised or given some other treatment? Do you use a traditional joint ,eg bridle joint at the corners/intermediates ? I am becoming more and more interested in woodland crafts,they are a great antidote to the crazy greedy world we now inhabit. Thanks again ! Richard .

The wood store is looking good! Makes much more sense to me now its full of logs. That clearance job looked brutal, I've been brush hogging my field with my little chinese compact tractor (23hp) and its been an education in mechanical issues 😅

This was one of your best vlogs ever, It kept me totally entertained and informed, it was really lovely thank you, Great to see that you have getting some down time as well with the family and great to see that you have bella with you as well, you will be great company for each other. Already laying in my supplies for the winter here, I can feel the mornings getting a little bit cooler. I also note your channel has grown a little as well. When I was sweeping out the cellar today I also came across a toad who had taken up residence but he climbed into one of the stones crevices and I could not get him out, Perhaps he will pop out the next time it rains? Great to hear you are finally getting some help and support even if still limited. When you popped to Cannock Chase I'm about a mile away. I know how you feel with machines, I'm going to have a go at fixing the fuel pick up on the ride on mower this weekend, wish me luck 😁What a Fab job on the wood store, money in the bank for next year, or this year if urgently required and sell it as green wood, I suspect it doesn't fetch as much then but I might be wrong as the licence is crazy so they might take all that work (and then some) as the initial fee. Hi, I have a similar model and I am struggling removing the rear cover as the lower axis from the PTO to the gear box, is locked into the wheels while the second axis from the motor is moving freely. have you selected specific gear or something else? thank you for your help!

Sorry to hear about your wife's struggles, the Crisis Team are well named, as they seem to create most of the crises and don't get me started on DWP/Atos assessments ! They've convinced themselves, after doing away with inpatient beds, that Care in the Community is the way forward, but it's an absolute joke. My sis in law was a registered mental health nurse, but packed it in as she was gradually becoming worse than her patients because of the lack of support and underfunding. Nice score on the chipper, have you got a market for the chip yet ? The stuff from our smaller jobs (Jensen tracked chipper) goes for mulch usually and the bigger jobs we get in a specialist to deal with it. Just picked up a tired Jappa pto saw that needs a little bit of tlc, something like it would be perfect for your fire wood processing set up. Take time to look after yourself and your daughter though, especially don't doubt yourself !

Blimey I'm only half way through. Yes selling. Making something from what some might say is 'not much' is so fulfilling. Love it when it happens, but not often enough for some like myself.

So sorry to hear about Karen. I should imagine, the system being broken just makes it all worse. If there was an escalation process and beds, and help and knowledge of what's going on, then she probably wouldn't be as bad? I'm just saying this from my own mental health experience. Look after Ellie Rae, and yourself. I've still not finished watching so might comment again. Comments helps us TH-camrs out 👍

Me again Darren. Those who have been through some sort of mental health issues will talk about it with others who might open up first. I think the loudest voices sometimes are those who have not been through something. So the rest of us shutdown when they start putting mental health down.

Darren that bug you just mentioned. I knocked a 2" 'nobble' off an Oak tree years ago. I turned it on the lathe and it's weird inside. I'll have to send you a pic. You can see where a grub has eaten a pathway around the piece. But it's poop is as hard as the wood itself. Very weird.

That chipper would come in handy around here! No better way to reduce the off-cuts to something useful and manageable, imo. How to market the chips? Tough, really. You could always save up the chips till you have a tote full, then advertise that to the local gardeners who need a small batch of mulch for their yards.

I am so inspired by this. I will learn.

Glad your family is getting a bit of a breather. I pray they get the meds sorted out. Hey, great chipper there! We broke down and got a cheap chipper. I broke the last one. I am hoping I did not bend the drive shaft like I am speculating, but it was easier to buy a new one and wait till Winter to tear into the old one. Those chips are so handy to have around. You are sure getting a lot done! Keep that stiff upper lip and hold your loved ones close during these trying times. You got this!

Just wanted to leave a comment to say that I find your videos very inspiring and useful, I'm currently searching for somewhere in Scotland to be able to do some green woodworking and charcoal making etc. I've supported a previous partner through her mental health struggles, dealing with the NHS and also the DWP with assessments etc, it's brutally frustrating and upsetting. I've been at about 30% myself this week, am hoping for better soon! Keep up the good work.
