Shocking Termite Damage! Hidden Dangers Every Homeowner Must See
During this home inspection, we uncovered shocking termite damage caused by subterranean termites. The infestation, which had been ongoing for quite some time, resulted in extensive structural damage:
Garage Damage: Severe termite activity near the water heater. Sheetrock was removed in several areas, exposing significant damage and allowing the walls to dry out.
Attic Structure: Termite damage was also found in the truss system, compromising the home's structure.
This is a serious reminder of how hidden issues can lead to costly repairs if left unchecked.
We also conducted a sewer camera inspection and found a clean ABS pipe running from the backyard to the alley-a small bit of good news for the homeowner!
📍 Located in Phoenix, AZ? Don’t leave your home’s condition to chance. We recommend scheduling a sewer camera inspection for just $200-peace of mind is priceless.

Most drain line issues result in many thousands of dollars in repairs. Would you...

    It's a double edge sword. It keeps you safe from outside threats, but could be a problem if there are threats inside of the house like fires. Keep fire extinguishers in easy accessible areas. Maybe a fire blanket to put over yourself and a mask that can help you filter out the smoke.

    Never had my site repair work stamped. Wouldn’t worry about reaching out to an engineer for sistering single members, but I always do for trusses. Depending on the situation I may just send them photos and measurements, but sometimes it needs a site walk. It all depends what else is going on as far as loads.

      @homeinspectordan หลายเดือนก่อน

      These were supporting a rooftop packaged hvac unit and the roof was just reshingled as well. 4 broken members in total. I dont have a choice witha truss though, its an engineered truss and it needs an engineer approval, one way or another. Otherwise I have no way of telling my client it was fixed right. Ihope they can get it repaired before they move in, but who knows.

The second I saw the lights were janky and then the fancy faucet just really reminded me of just about every Airbnb I have stayed at! It has a pool, that is the "money maker" if they are renting it out. I would guess the owner doesn't live their full time, but its a rental/vacation property. I wouldn't buy that house for a dollar haha. All these rentals sit vacant for a week or two, and during that time a lot of the hosts turn off the AC to save money. Well I know for a fact that bugs are drawn to warmth. Tell me at night that thing isn't just a magnet for insects when they do. If you have roaches, they get worse. Homes that don't have people actively living in them are the worst.
