What about fiberglass rebar instead of steel rebar? And does the concrete have to be in water mix or can it be with oil or epoxy?
@davidelizondo1903 Sorry, accidentally sent before done responding. As far as I can tell, they are similar in strength, but the big pro is it will not rust in the concrete, which can lead to unsightly rust spots as well as some chemical byproduct. I like the original because if the concrete is done correctly, shouldn't really have an issue, which will save a few bucks. Unless you have a company deliver and pour, you will be mixing with water. Hope that helps, and happy building!
i think youre a dodo
Thanks a bunch good information. I need to get one 👍
Does your insurance give you any grief over the stove in the garage?
@YesteryearGarage as long as I could prove it was okayed to be used as permanent heat in a mobile home. It was in the main page and description, so should be easily find. Let me know if that helps?
Even the best window units will break down if you put them in a room with little to no insulation.
Great idea! The companies that sell specific fence post protectors or something like $15 a post If I remember right!
Just bought one, this was a great video
@@jamesmccoskey6476 Awesome, Happy cutting!
How much does it weigh
@@carverindian should be around 17 to 20 Lbs
Got a 131 sitting in front me with less than hr run time. Ran good first 20 mins now it doesn't want to start or stay running. Stihl is just like everybody now using cheap Chinese junk carburetors! No more Walbro now it's Zama.
Probably fake.
No right channel sound! You need to fix this please!
@paulsylvester1394 Oh man that's sucks, I will look into it and see what's up? I imagine that it's me because I am a dumbass when it comes to things like that. I can't believe it didn't drive you crazy?
Dude!!! Love yer vibe! Happy Independence Day! Honestly, I'm you, in an uglier, older format... I need to repair my mud room bench coat hooks and clicked on your video whilst eating my breakfast and suffered through your sweat stained ball cap, profanity laden, unscripted tutorial and loved it... I'll be honest, I hit the 5 second forward button alot and sped up the last 5 minutes to double speed... just because I have a ton of work to do but try to find something to watch while I enjoy my coffee... honestly surprised you showed up on my feed, but I'm glad you did!!! I hope your channel takes off, if that's what you want it to do... 40 videos and 132... ehem... 133 subs... I'm gonna like and subscribe just so you feel you have to make more of these videos... they are something all of my daughters probably need to watch and they would love your down to earth candor... best of luck to you... your newest sub!!!
@larrymcdaniel8471 Hey man, thanks for the good vibes! I just want everyone to have fun and learn something, so thanks for the kind words! You made my day!!
I've seen good things from Della as a newer brand. GE, LG, Honeywell, and Midea all are really good units. A lot of the others are mostly rebadged units made by other companies. The saddle units are really great and have a lot less impact due to heat loss around the sides and the case of the unit conducting heat through the window opening. Most of these are all inverter-based units so they have slow start, high efficiency multi-speed compressors, and a lot of them are full heat pumps. The days of having a simple big oil filled dumb compressor and two fans are over. Some people of course see that as a down-side, they are more complex, they are all computer controlled, and you can't just open them up and jury rig something if you needed to. However that complexity brings with it a lot more cooling, consistency, they run waay better at very high and low temperatures, and a lot less power is being wasted (enough to power to essentially pay for the unit).
Well said
Just put a drain hose in and run it outside! They pretty much had the disclaimer in the manual. Great video!!
So pretty much all units have some sort of caveat about high humidity situations as any air conditioner running where the interior space is up to 80% humidity is going to create a lot of condensation (more than the unit can handle). The issue is much worse in the saddle units as they need to pump the water back up and over the saddle to the outside, full size units just drain it into the bottom of the shell and hopefully you followed the instructions of ensuring the unit is tipped to the outside by 1/8-1/4-inch. In most cases if you're in the habit of leaving the unit running you are not going to have problems. But if you frequently open up the shop and flood it with high humidity 90+ degree air it's going to have problems keeping up when first starting (it's pulling many gallons of water from the air). In a shop if you really want to do it right and not worry about it, attach a small line to the drain hose port and drill a drain port to the outside. Any spare 1/2" PVC, vinyl, or even PEX would work fine. Either that or leave the drain plug open and add a potted plant to the shop under the window 😂
Pellets or wood? Depends on your fuel source. We live on a large acreage property. I get two cords of wood a seasom just cleaning up the dead trees and winter damage. I have a lifetime of fuel. Mostly Oak and Madrona. Maple and Douglas firr. A little western cedar for a sweet aroma, my wife loves that. I sweep twice during a 4+ month season using 2 to 2.5 cords of wood. Stay warm, my friends.
You've got me wondering about the pellet stove. tHanks for the tour....What do you have in the works next?
Welcome aboard. May go over the stove for anyone like yourself who may be thinking about what heat to use?? What do you think??
@@dowhowerdoesit9426 It would be interesting to know if the pellets really do make less of a mess. I've got a pellet stove but nobody seems to want to buy it. I thought maybe I should keep it.....but, I have a sawmill..... I'm not sure the law allows a person to have wood off the saw mill......and buy pellets?
@Dancing_Alone_wRentals if you get the correct unit, in my opinion, there is quite a bit less mess. I will make sure to go over that part.
At $700.00, or more, call a tree trimming service and it's a minimum of $1100.00 to get them to your door. If you can do the branches yourself. This is actually a good buy.
want us to see your truck ...lolol
My local dealer sells Stihl and Echo and they recommend the Echo over the Stihl pole saws.
I would have them give you the Echo loaner to use before buying it. I think after testing both, you will lean toward the Stihl. But if you lean towards the Echo, I am sure it will work great for you. This isn't who is right or wrong, but finding the best product for you.
@@dowhowerdoesit9426 I wish they did that but they don’t give out loaner equipment. Not to regular consumers anyway. From talking with them they say the Stihl has more power but the Echo shaft is built better than the Stihl. They also said the local guys that run tree trimming services prefer the straight handled Echo due the shaft being more robust. I have an FC91 edger with a 4 mix engine and have not had any problems but I’ve heard quite a bit that the plastic cam/gear wears out on the 4 mix engines and can ruin the engine.
My buddy, a 2-stroke engine mechanic, said to get the HT250 rather than the 131 because the 250 doesn’t have valves and it’s more dependable.
250 is a fixed pole.
I have that model. It's worth the money.
Great information, which gas pole saw would you recommend 131 or 135. Thanks
Will you be using it just around the house, on land or for work? I personally try to buy the best if at all possible, because it only takes one time to need the bigger one to make you mad about your purchase!
@@dowhowerdoesit9426 So would you go for the HT135 if purchasing now over the HT131?
@rapaent As far as I can tell, the only difference is the 135, which I think is the new replacement for the 131 ( I think) has a square running shaft and not round. The shaft length, cc's and bar length are the same. I would have to guess that it may make it a bit stiffer and harder to break. I like the 131 because it's what I am used to. I do not abuse mine, but definitely run it to the limit, and have never broke one? Just use a dealer that will let you use both loaners before spending the money, and you can't go wrong! P.S. if they know you are buying, they will be much more open to the loaners.
@@dowhowerdoesit9426 Thank you John for the great advice & information between the two. I do have a couple good dealers nearby in which I'll ask them for a loaner. Thanks again, appreciate it!
@@rapaent I have a 135 and it works well. My only complaint is the twist lock which doesn't hold solid, hopefully Stihl will redesign this and retro the ones already sold.
6061-T6 AIRCRAFT ALUMINUM????????????
They do use a very high grade aluminum in a lot of their products, but some do have cheaper materials as the price goes down. Unfortunately, you would have to pull up your exact model number to know for sure.
I wish I viewed this video prior to my lawn company cutting into both my post with their weed whacker all summer. My neighbor said it will be expensive to replace 😢.
Great, glad I could help. You can also buy it in colors if so desired, but it will end up looking like the ones in the video anyway
My tree is dead and I am cripple and I am retired and I live on simple pay and 16 feet is not enough. I want about 30 feet.
I am sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I don't know any 30 footers, may have to hire a reasonable company.
Does it come unattached
It will come apart, but only for changing parts.
I like the last link
Just got my H31 and reading the manual. Have you read the manual? It says 12 inch bar I believe. I thought it was a 14 inch bar. And the Stihl pole saws they cost more what is the difference. I should also mention my Stihl dealer lets me do lay away. Now my chain came off on the first run but seems to be okay. I think the chain got a kink in it.
Awesome, you will love it. My dealer said you can get them with 12 or 14 inch bars, I do have the 14. Remember, there are 2 different chains. You have the stock, and then the yellow marked ones. Yellow is what I run, as they are a bit more aggressive but also more dangerous When the chain is brand new it will stretch a bit, I run it for just a few minutes to warm up and then I retighten.
Sorry, I missed the part about the difference. If you do not cut large with it, the 12inch will be fine. If you are using it daily or very hard all the time, I would go to the 14
i have 2 of them one saw and one brush cutter they are worth ever dime they are great do not buy a battery operated one
I was thinking of getting the stihl 135 batter version why not ? It’s more healthy
Thank you for this amazing video!
The model after yours has a plastic hook ..I have the same as yours
when is stihl going to wake up and make the saw head TILTING SO THAT YOU CAN GET ON TOP OF THE BRANCH
It does. You can get a 45-degree extension. But the reason why it's not factory is because it would make the unit very difficult to store and put down. They also make special bars for pole saws. The manufacturer of the bar is called Cannon.
Stihl is synonymous with quality equipment. I have a Stihl Farm Boss 041. I purchased it in 1975 and for over 10 years I would cut 20 ricks of wood per year. I have had to have parts like the carburetor, chains, bars, sprokets. But with almost 50 years of service speaks for itself.
Best saws Stihl makes are the ones made in Germany not the US.
Maybe those sharpness measurement tools that test knives? Not sure abt their price though, it varies.
Never thought of that. Very good idea!
you should test psychedelics
Nice one!
PICKED UP AN ORIGON 16 INCH BAR AND CHAIN AT TRACTOR SUPPLY FOR $35.00. NOT BAD. CAME WITH A 12 INCH BAR AN CHAIN.
Sounds like a great deal
YOU FORGOT TO CUT SOME TREES WITH IT. NOT EVEYONE CAN AFFORD AN $800.00 SAW. ELECTRIC DON'T CUT AS FAST BUT GET THE JOB DONE. I HAVE A DEWALT AND AWSOME . NO FUEL PROBLEMS OR STARTING . OIL FOR THE CHAIN THAT IS IT. BIGGER THE APH BATTERY THE LONGER IT RUNS. CHANGE BAR AND A IN 5 MIN.
batteries are a pain and won't last.
Specifically mine is a FS-250 weed-wacker, with a 14-inch bar pole-saw head attachment, the CCs are the same as my sthil MS-250 chainsaw 42ccs I think it's a beast been keeping 4-1/2 acres in check for around 9-years or more, never been to a repair shop so far, money well spent 😊
That's awesome mate, I've got a fs240 that I'm thinking about doing this to
Paid $700 for mine
I have a 250
Very nice saw
Cast aluminum
Doesn't say how the extension locks
My bad... early in the video
right on!
good stuff!
The HT 135 is the mag daddy
Gas or battery version?
@@soulja617 Gas, the battery versions are HTA.
That was a good review. I been looking into investing in a pole saw and you sold me on the Stihl. Nice truck in the back drop. Work safe. Thank you.
Glad I could help, you will love it
Great choice, you won't regret 🙂 I love all of my stihl products, they've given me trouble free service for many years ☺️
What about the HT135 ?
Just to clarify, you are asking about the battery powered pruner?
Yeah the HT 135 is the daddy more powerful than the 131
The HT 135 is gas. Same engine as the HT 131 but it has a twist lock handle to extend the pole and the pole is square. The battery pole saw is the HTA 135.
@@InLaymansTermsPlease HT 135 is Gas and 30cc more grunt than the 131
@@InLaymansTermsPlease By the time you've bought the 'cheaper' battery model and THEN spring for the battery and charging unit, one's already exceeded the cost of the gas powered 135.
Thanks for the information ❤
I have the HT 131 it a awesome tree saw thanks for the very awesome video.
