First thoughts though are that it can’t be, since the flat cpu will lose heat most efficiently if it is spread out over as large/flat surface as possible rather than through the length of the chip to be lost via a thin edge. Or do you mean there will be better airflow around the case if it’s free standing?

connect an arudino to rasberry pi and make rasberry pi program in python such that arduino will be programmed based on what sensor the user indicate at the user required pins so there will be no need to user to program the arudino everytime with long codes just ask raspberry pi to progam the sensor however we like.

Why use pico? Why not use raspberry pi input/output directly? What's the advantage?
