Dear Nikki and Keith, Thanks very much for the video! That certainly took me back to times past when in my teens sailing from the Gourock area and when most of those anchorages were more or less empty in the 60's and early 70's When the weather's good there's nothing to beat the West coast but I certainly don't miss the rain and have been inland in Canada now for many decades. Thanks again, Niall.

I have traveled all over but Scotland is my favourite place in the world. Our boat will be in Brixham this year and west coast of Scotland will be our first big adventure. We sailed there two years ago around Jura lovely. Great video guys thank you.

Visited Carrick and the castle and took a cycle ride inland in 198? when we were sailing in the "puffer" VIC32. A beautiful and fascinating place, and I recall the pub was good, too. There was a lot of Naval activity then. On passage to Carrick up Loch Long we were surveyed and photographed (as were all other passing vessels) from the "MOD Plod" launch that patrolled off of Coulport, where a lot of hardware for the Faslane nuclear subs was stored. We were enjoying tea on deck at the time, and the Police got a bit surly when our cook offered them some pieces of cake! There was a notice warning vessels not to moor at the pier at Carrick which was for MOD use. It was rumoured that there was an installation in the hills above Loch Goil where tapes brought from subs "listening" to the Russian fleet were taken for analysis. Lovely video, how I miss those days up in Scottish waters.

Worked and skied GLENSHEE in1968/69, still skiing fifty two years later (in AUSTRALIA) I should be in Canada right now and would be if it were not for COVID 19.

Hi enjoyed the video but hoped you could answer a couple of questions if you didn't mind, as a novice I've only sailed dinghy's but some say the best way to learn but having limited funds I have looked a the likes of trailer sailors and thought about traveling around UK waters but would ask would you see this as a mental idea? it's I just would want to go to the expense of mooring a boat to stand idle and thought about a trip around the top of Scotland from east to west as a starter and somebody pick me up with the trailer over that side or am I just mental for considering? was thinking a holiday for maybe a time to gain experience with a view to upgrading, Oh I'm situated in the north east as the name would suggest, some say that alone makes me mental LOL

That's quite a good amount of snow considering we got not a single drop of snow in Aberdeen that entire winter.

Nice size of boat gor the area. We sail a 24ft out of ardrossan. Been to ireland and aaall over t place. Im from Clydebank but live in Devon, you should hear MY accent, ha, ha. Me hearties.
