We (JJJ) went to see Stacey Thomas talk about The Revels last October (poss Halloween?!) at a talk with Margaret Meyer, because we'd not long buddy-read The Witching Tide! If I remember correctly, they were talking about Witch-hunters and the practice of witch-hunting, and the fact that they both wanted to recentre those who had been persecuted as women (primarily), rather than refer to them as witches.

There's some language that I've noticed in King's writing that just gives me the ick. I wish I could enjoy his books like everyone else seems to! I always feel like I'm missing out but I'm not tempted enough to try again 🙃

I would call those books "Magical Realism" as opposed to "Fantasy" I really want to read A Witches Guide and Honey Witch. They sound like a lot of fun.

Another short Summer Reading vlog after I just watched the last one! 🎉 It was nice to watch the rain because summer here has been dry, extremely hot while also being stupid humid? Tomorrow is supposed to be 36°C but it feels like 40°C with the humidity. I've got 'Six of Crows' rotting on my audible backlog and I've always heard good things, so I really should bump it up in priority.

If you're looking for witchy horror, I'd recommend Root and Bone by Jessica Raney.

I just finished the Shadow and Bone Trilogy. I am looking forward to hopefully reading Six of Crows in September. I hope you have a wonderful month.

Stardust is my all time favorite movie, but the book I liked much less. I feel like Neil Gaiman creates beautiful stories and worlds but maybe I just don't vibe with his actual writing style because I also love Coraline but the book was kind of meh

a few romances i like are quiet basic but they are "i wish you all the best" and "the song of achilles", also i think you may like "hell followed with us" its post apocalyptic with cults!
