The Worst Thing Ever Said At A Funeral
This STORYTIME is a bit longer than usual, but the background info is important to the BIG SHOCKER. The second funeral in this story is the one where the words are spoken, but the background info of how it came about (including the first funeral) is important to understand why those words were so bad (and funny). So please hang in until the end, it packs quite the wallop! This story is about my personal family.

Thousands of Trick-or-Treaters for Halloween 2023
มุมมอง 58ปีที่แล้ว
People never seem to believe the amount of Trick-or-Treaters that we get in our neighborhood. Because this area is many old Victorian homes that often cost over a million dollars, kids from all around come in vans and busses to go up and down our streets. Boston Police closes off traffic to accommodate the thousands of costume and performing people. Every year it seems to get larger with more s...

Judgment
มุมมอง 128ปีที่แล้ว
We use our judgment throughout the day, from selecting our lunch, to when we consider a project finished, to whether or not to have our in-laws over to visit. Judgment keeps us from doing stupid things and keeps us moving in the right direction to accomplish what we want in life. But where 'judging people' is concerned, it seems to have taken on a life of its own. Here are some brief thoughts a...

I Don't Fit In And I Feel Like I Don't Have Any Friends
4:36 is where you'll wanna start.
amazing video but i feel this is talking to a very specific audience. my case would be living in a small town, in a country in which gay marriage isn't even legalized yet. yes, there is gay life, but mostly in cities. this doesn't speak to me so much, 😅
I'm sorry this wasn't relatable to you. Small towns do become a problem where gay dating is concerned. If I was single, the place my husband and I just moved to is pretty remote, so dating would require me to drive about 45 minutes to any gay bar, etc. Yeah, small towns are wonderful, but somewhat isolating. Good luck with your future searches. Please let me know how it all goes. And thanks for the comment! ~Joey
What made you have a low t cell count? Sorry i dont understand what illness you have. Is this cancer?
A handful of illnesses over the years.
I dont understand gay men who want to sleep around with other men and be in a relationship with their partner. Split up and be single then. I could never stay with anyone who wanted to be sexual with other men. Then theirs the contamination risk of diseases. Yunk.
I agree. But many guys prefer multiple partners.
Being single is easier in many ways. I believe you can meet someone out in the supermarket or out in the patk or knitting club. It doesn't have to be on a dating app.
Very true.
I never wear shorts as i feel my legs are too short and bulky. Tights and lycra just look too exposing for me. I cant stand gyms that play loud piped music & have mirrors everywhere. Too many people around when i exercise makes me very anxious. Its a no from me.
Many guys feel the same way.
I like your new beard, screw what any one thinks. You look way younger than 60. I feel at 51 my dating years are over. Luckily i like living alone!
I appreciate your kind words. The beard is trimmed back for now. It was a Summer thing. ~Joey

🤩 wow!!!!! That’s amazing!!! Well done, significant achievement 👍👍👍 Nb query: with government colluding with land developers to create more high density residential premises in their megacity fantasies, did you guys consider moving into a modern apartment in Boston eg to be close to amenities?
Living in the country seems very nice. ~Joey
♥️
♥️ I can relate to this Thanks for your healthy attitude Kind regards
🤣
No tv in the house. There is but att the moment it has a black blanket on it, just don’t even remember it’s there. Only goes on when the man watches it He’s been away for a few months with his sister doing old people stuff. When he comes back, will probably give up the master bedroom for him to chillax and veg out in front of the TV. Hoping to make up the guest bedroom for me He’s been off sex for approx 15 years, maybe more, I forget - has been a total drought. Maybe if he’s relaxed this time… I think I was nearly getting some about 6 months ago, but he changed his stance etc. Whatever I think tv news stresses The Man enough without adding extra expectation and stress. He’s always been a tv person, while I haven’t, it’s such an unproductive time suck Consequently, I have pretty much avoided this whole US election thing too. Though, I did tune into online media via TH-cam reels for outcome results, I didn’t want to be completely ignorant. It will all be over in another 4 years (unless the grim reaper visits sooner) Sharing: while the popular culture gay lifestyle is slowly evolving towards more maturity, there’s years to go yet; I I really needed the humanity aspect of your channel, what I can relate to, so thanks for sticking with it and setting a positive role model Sharing: you should check out the 50+ And Fit Facebook group. It’s open to all creeds in society 50 years of age and over, where people share their progress story uploads. There’s incredible physiques right through 70’s, 80’s, 90’s. I’ve been watching your progress via your TH-cam channel uploads, I think you started at 60 or 56 and here you are today, so, keen to see your continuing results, very inspiring, very motivating Kind regards
I'll check out the group. Thank you! ~Joey
…what happens to people who use a lack of judgement -> hospital ER room We all make judgements every day, what clothes we’re wearing, food we’re eating, TH-cam content we’re watching etc etc It’s highly inappropriate context to be called out using the process of exercising a judgement call to protect yourself or your children and loved ones etc, in a weaponising way. That’s what socialist activists do, the look for intentional interjecting normal thought process to create social chaos to te-engineer narratives to suit their socialist agendas It’s not on (that’s a healthy judgement call!) Kind regards
Polygamy = relationship dead end for me Once you reach that point where you’re having those discussions, staying in “an arrangement” becomes absolutely pointless and meaningless You share house together. Bank accounts together etc etc, a whole format of life. That’s what a stable relationship entails and is about. Then that harmonic routine becomes jeopardised, even to the point of income jeopardy - big fat f*ck you off no thanks go let that whoever babysit you and your bs It’s very easy: the only way my relationship lasted for over 30 years monogamously - is go to the right restaurant and get the most delicious meal that you know you’re gunna love every dang time 👍👍👍 Lots of place have kept the same menu concept for years, people stil go to MacDonald’s and to fancy Italian restaurants where the meal choice is consistent. There is comfort in stable faithful consistency. People who need to eat out at lots of different restaurants and lots of different meals are foodies - it’s a really poor analogy to compare with a person. I’m a foodie, but it doesn’t mean I’m equally sl*tting around having random extramarital affairs because I’m lost my self worth
Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely put them to use. ❤
Glad you liked the tips. Hope they work for you. Please stay in touch and let us know if any of them worked for you. Thanks for the comment! ~Joey
Yes indeed! All very good rational advice. Good hearted mature gay (and hot) men are out there who want to settle down with a partner. Keep looking in the right places (close to home, or move and look in a new area) and you'll find him. He's there and he'll be overjoyed when he finds you too! I met my now husband when I was 55 and he had just turned 70. I'm now 73 and he's 88. Recently married after an 18 year extended partnership. Happy and aging as gracefully as possible (not easy, but much better with each other.) I love Joey's advice: " Have an open heart and a good sense of humor and I'm sure you will find love again."
Thank you, Norm. It is exciting to hear of a relationship such as yours that came later in life. Everyone needs to read your comment! It IS POSSIBLE to meet your life partner when you are older. You just have to keep trying, as Norm said. Put yourself in places and situations where you have the best chance of meeting like-minded guys. If you present yourself at your best (hygiene, attitude, don't talk about past relationships or complain about what guys you have met). No one wants to hear you moan about how bad things are. Who wants to be around that? Smile, be nice and be positive in your conversations. It takes practice. Thank Norm, I'm so glad you two found each other. ~Joey
I agree 💯…. And you look great!
Thank you for the nice words, Anthony. I appreciate it. I def looked better back when I was 60. The last 6 years has aged me quite a bit, I think. Thanks for commenting! ~Joey
This has to be the funniest Thanksgiving dinner story that I have ever heard. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving today!!!
Thank you. It's given me chuckles over the years when I think of it! Thanks for commenting. ~Joey
Best to you and yours, man. Your a good story teller
Thank you! It's good to laugh at life sometimes. Best to you as well! ~Joey
On this day of thanksgiving i want you to know i am thankful for all you do and provide
You are very sweet. I don't feel like I provide all that much, but I thank you for enjoying it. Happy Thanksgiving to you! ~Joey
You are like the rocks at Stonehenge nothing knocks you down. Think of all you have survived. You will survive this too.
Yes, I will. I think my strategy is sound. Thank you for your very kind words. Is the 4 years up YET? ~Joey
I also went news dark. I have to be able to find my joy and be able to function without fear. While I will still be voting in midterms I am doing my best to even remove the beast's name from my life in all aspects. Much Love friend. Your office looks awesome!
I think that is a winning strategy. It's going to be hard. I want to turn on the news, right now, but I know the desire will fade. MZY office is definitely coming along. Thank you for liking it! Hugs, man. ~Joey
I have cut off most of my friends and even family members who voted for The Orange One and have ceased using FaceBook to lessen the amount of negative news I see and hear. I’m still on TikTok and will be moving everything over to Blue Sky, slowly but surely. My husband and I are trying to stay positive and be there for each other, and of course surround ourselves with positive energy and light.
May the 4 years go by swiftly ! Hugs, V. ~Joey
Feliz Año Nuevo
Same to you! ~Joey
Yes! Thank you for going news dark cause i am too
It's one way to survive. I hope I can stay the course. Good luck with it for you, also. Thanks for the comment. ~Joey
Meeting people outside apps, and not getting into anything long-distance is a privilege for gay men who are wealthy from buying homes in gay areas when it was affordable or ones who are making good money for the rent in these areas. Despite the beautiful passionate life I live in the mountains, I am too far away from bars and my income too low in my profession to make a financially stable life in a big urban center where I have close distance access to single gay men and hang out places besides the apps. I am wondering if there are other men over 50 like myself are finding for love in less urban areas of the country, who are willing to date long distance but move in together and make it close distance?
yes, living a rural life will definitely impact your social life. If any guys over 50 are looking to date long-distance with the hopes of a long-term relationship, please comment below. Sierra, you mention that you live passionately in the mountains. That unto itself is wonderful, as so many do not appreciate their lives or their surroundings. But the internet lessens the distance. Especially where live cams are concerned. These can be stepping stones to meeting someone who might be interested in visiting you to see how things are. I'm not on such sites anymore, but aren't there specific apps for guys who want to date, not hook-up? The distance will be an issue and it's better to lay it all out there right up front. Don't wait until you really 'like' a guy before you give him the long-distance details. Best of luck with it. I'm sorry I cannot be of more help. ~Joey
I want to find my future hubby do u think hinge would be a great way to start I would really prefer to meet ppl in person but I don’t like bars or the ppl that come w it they just wanna hookup as much as ppl on Grindr
I personally know nothing about Hinge, so I can't give you any advice about it. Yes, I agree that meeting guys in bars often ends in a hook-up or else the guy might not be interested to see you again. Such is life, I guess. Sometimes I wish I had been a lesbian because they seem to have more stability. Please though, if you meet someone through Hinge, or Grindr or any other app, please meet them first in a public place and if you can get some basic info about him, do some research on the guy first (assuming he is using his real name). Please be careful. I hooked up so much when I was younger and never thought to be 'careful'. Fortunately I never got into any situation that I could not get out of, but there were some close calls. And it is worse now, with the world the way it is. Meet guys, but be around other people until you can get a safe feel about him. Best of luck, and please let me know if you find a guy. Thank you for the comment. ~Joey
Hello from the future. My mom was from Ipswich and we spent a lot of time there growing up. I went to Crane's Beach (as locals call it) many times and knew of the Castle, but didn't go up the hill until 2018. I stayed at the Inn in July 2022 and this October. I love it there. This video was great. Thank you for making it.
Thank you so much for liking the video! Where is the Inn? Is that part of the big house? ~Joey
@@AnOlderGayGuyShow When you enter Castle Hill it's the large residential looking structure at the bottom near the Barn.
@@bretcantwell4921 I think I know it. I'll look when we go back in the Spring. Since you've been twice I take it that you like it.
How do you find a boyfriend that actually wants relationship, all they want is something quick and short. I tried every single dating app for years and nothing, even if i find someone they usually block me when we start talking seriously. NOT EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS SEX
It's difficult. In today's world of instant hook-up possibilities due to the apps like Grindr, guys are def mostly looking to hook up. I always thought that since sex is such an important part of gay relationships, that maybe we should have sex fairly early on to see if we match sexually. Then after a few hook-ups, if the interest is there, then pursue dating. Because I have been in many situations where I started to like someone, we went out on a few sexless dates, and then when we finally did have sex, it was disappointing and unfulfilling. Then it was extra sad because I had started to like a guy after a couple dates, just to see it blow up when we weren't sexually compatible. So I personally almost always got sex out of the way early, so there wouldn't be that disappointment. If someone is okay in bed, nothing special, well, maybe that can be worked on as you get to know each other better. But there are simply too many guys that I am not compatible in sex with, so I'd just soon get it out of the way. But for those just wishing to date without sex for a few dates, maybe the only alternative is older guys that aren't so into online hook-up sites. Older guys can be more interested in truly dating, as our sexual desires calm down as we age and we look for long-term partners. Best of luck in your search, Dario! Thanks for watching and commenting! ~Joey
I remember listening to your podcast when i was 17-18 while at work. I always imagined you being a lot older than you were because of your podcast name. Im 23 now and bro you look so young(and handsome)!!! Im glad to run into your content again, something about your voice and laughter. Happy to know your still going strong with your podcast.❤❤❤
Wow. I knew I had this show going for awhile, but you grew up during it. Thank you for finding me younger and handsomer (is that a word?). Thank you for the kind words, it's great to know you are listening periodically. I hope to be going a few more years. Thanks for the comment! ~Joey

I want to believe, but...some people leave in small cities, towns, where is mo gay community, where your friends and family are straight or closeted, and the society is not gay friendly...in such situation grindr seems to be the only option...so what to do then? Is moving far away the only way??
I think every town is going to be different. Some will be more close-minded and that oppression will always be a part of a gay person's experience there. In others, maybe there are enough open-minded folks that things begin to change. But change takes time. When I was first out in gay bars in the 1970's, they were behind blacked out windows and doors, there was no sign. It was hidden. But in 50 years now, the gay world is a much more open place. Gay bars are going out of business because we are so integrated into regular society that they don't need special bars for gay clientele. But for those older now, still either stuck or choosing to remain in these small town areas....maybe yeah, maybe moving is the only choice. But I know it will take you far away from your family home. I wish you the best of luck. Thanks for watching and commenting! ~Joey
Great advice and relatable experiences. thank you (you were recommended by cranky old gay guy).
