I’m calling bullsh!t on this video. It’s not as easy to take out. Tried for an hour. Did everything as described. You need to take the bumper off. It won’t loosen from the clips underneath.

Whoever is watching this, although it's a good video and it's fairly easy to take off the fender, it's a bit difficult to put it back on. Take your time to line up all the bolt points, and take care to not scratch your drivers side door or bumper with the new fender. I slightly scratched my door where it meets the fender and slightly scratched my bumper where it couples with the fender because of constant reajustment for proper fitment. Take your time..

My brother bought one of these cars and his headlight went out. It was his first car and I was absolutely boggled when I opened up the hood and saw the headlights were inaccessible that way. I pulled up a YT video of a guy pulling off the entire bumper and I went "Nope". Some months later, I decided to give it a shot (because I was going to need to borrow his car while mine was at the mechanic), and it's really not that bad. If you have a good socket wrench on hand already, it'd take only 15 minutes or so. I didn't really need to prop the bumper outwards or anything, it seemed to easily flex. Absolutely zero worry about breaking the bumper or anything. This is the way. Thanks!

Hi Lee, I just replaced a xenon globe in my 2016 Audi Q7. I saw the full Audi Technically correct way to do it on a carcare post where you have to remove the whole bumper. Was not keen on doing this so i did it a similar way to what you have shown. This was a drivers side light and i got it out reasonably easy and changed the globe no problem. The problem came when i was refitting the headlight assembly, and as you pointed out the lugs are designed in i way which is just stupid engineering to be honest, as it is difficult to get the light properly aligned to push in. It just makes no sense to design it like that. Those locating lugs basically serve no purpose besides general location lugs. Anyway the only way i felt comfortable getting the light back in, without using alot of force which could potentially damage something, was to do the same as yourself and loosen the right hand locating lug, and slide it up about 10mm. The light just slide straight in then and it was easy. Only problem now is that the locating lug is not tightened up, and you cant get to it. So i loosened the under engine cover directly under the car in that area, and just pulled it down, which i could then access this torque screw with a stretched out arm, which was reasonably easy. Tightened it up and screwed the cover back on. Only took me about 5-10min to do this. If i have to change a globe again i will loosen this locating lug screw first from under the car, then the light will come out and go back in much easier. Just thought i share how i went about it. You should have put silicone on the new one. You'll be repeating this again soon.

Please remember not to touch the new bulb with your hands/fingers directly. The oils on you fingers will stay on the bulbs and create a hot spot which will cause the new bulb to burn out again prematurely. Use gloves, a rag or paper towel.

Just wanted to be another person to say this worked for me! Very helpful and comprehensive video. Bought a socket wrench set (figured I’d probably need it for other stuff in the future), and followed your instructions to a T. I ended up using a smaller socket for the 2 outermost bottom screws (the cover just underneath the bumper, underside of car) to open it up a bit more. I also snipped off part of the post thing you mentioned because I couldn’t get it all back together without doing so. Overall pretty simple!

Why u skip the process of how u get the headlight out i cant them slid forward its stucking or holding something to light to come forward. Maybe u hv some hight quality lube.

Absolutely asinine of Chevy. Awesome bud friend. I thought I was loosing it when I went to change my wife’s headlight bulb. This saved me, and I’m sure many other, so much time and headache.

Hi, I noticed that the front bumper of this car is slightly misaligned. You can observe it at 0.15 seconds in the video. Have you already addressed this issue? I own the same model, and I've encountered a similar problem with my car's front bumper. I'm curious if it's easily repairable.
