My name is Melissa, and this is where I share my authentic, easy, nutritious, value-family-friendly meals cuisine from around the world! I have always enjoyed trying different cuisines around the world and thought I could share with everyone what I cook at home.
As someone who once didn't know how to cook, I understand the difficulties, especially during this time when we're all quarantined at home and have to cook to eat.
I’m the wife of one amazing man who is also my greatest supporter and biggest number one fan, despite his busy schedule, takes his time to be the photographer, video editor behind this cooking channel. Weetbix Kiwi Krunch - Melissa’s Home Cooking
This recipe makes up to 150 biscuits - depending on size
Weet-bix is a breakfast favourite for many Kiwis and Aussies. Sometimes it is called Wheat Biscuits or in the UK Wheetabix.
Weetbix Kiwi Krunch are a tasty wholegrain biscuit, easy and quick to make and great for the lunchbox or afternoon snack.
Also, a great way to use up weet-bix crumbs! 😊

Ingredients:
500 g Butter - softened
2 cups (400g) sugar
2 tsp vanilla essence
5 tsp golden syrup
2 ½ tsp baking soda
½ cup (118ml) boiling water
5 cups (625g) all-purpose flour - sifted
5 tsp baking powder - sifted
1 tsp salt
2 ½ cups (250g) desiccated coconut
2 ½ cups (424g) choc chips
2 ½ cups (325g) sliced cranberries
15 Weet-Bix, crushed
Instructions:
1. In a mixer, beat butter and sugar, then add vanilla essence.
2. Melt golden syrup, add water and baking soda, then stir into butter mixture.
3. Add flour, baking powder, salt, coconut, choc chips, cranberries and mix well.
4, Then add Weet-Bix and mix until combined.
5. Line trays with baking paper and heat oven to 180 C bake.
6. Scoop mixture using a teaspoon and roll into balls, flattening slightly with a fork on the tray.
7. Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes, turn oven tray around half way through the baking so biscuits are evenly browned, remove when turning golden and still a little soft in the centre.
8. Cool on a rack and store in an airtight container.
Notes:
*This is a great way to use up the crushed Weetbix at the bottom of the box!
*This biscuit is good for the freezer too. Just defrost overnight at room temperature and biscuits are ready to eat once defrosted.
For other variations:
Add chopped apricots, dates, raisins, sultanas, rolled oats, nuts, etc.

My Penang Hokkiien Char. Oyster sauce is taboo and will be taboo in my kitchen. No ajinamoto. Light and dark soy sauce and a little salt plus white pepper. Square lean port strips, shelled small prawns and maybe some sliced fish cake. Bihun Chopped shallots and a little chopped garlics. chai Sim (Mustard Green)

How long will it keep in a jar in the fridge?
@enginkemal7398 For about 2 weeks in the fridge but make sure you use a clean dry spoon everytime you are using it. Longer up to 6 months in the freezer. But if you sterilized any sealed bottle and lids properly and pour hot boiling sauce in it, it should keep up to a year in a cold dark place in the pantry. Happy Cooking!😊

Wow! So many healthy things in it! Looks so yummy, makes me want to visit Malaysia just to eat genuine satay sauce! Gonna have to try your recipe here in miserable old England just to cheer me up! Thank you!
my sago became super gooey. I'm not sure what went wrong :( I waited till water was boiling before i put in the ago, boiled till transparent, switched off fire, cover for 5 mins and then rinse but was all a a crazy starch mess. i had a hard time washing the utensils too :(
@cherochew MISTAKE 1: WASHING THE SAGO before cooking MISTAKE 2: USING TAP WATER . “Same principle as above. Sago must be added to boiling water. This way, the outermost layer of the sago pearl gets cooked instantaneously, forming a seal around the sago pearl.” MISTAKE 3: BOILING FOR TOO LONG “After boiling for about 10-12 minutes, the outside of the sago is cooked, but the centres are still opaque. You may then think that you should continue boiling the sago. But what happens is that the outer layers which are already cooked will begin to disintegrate into starch if you boil beyond 15 minutes.” Maybe one of the above check point is the result of your super gooey sago?? @jacquelinetomarocon4429 You may try substitute the tamarind paste with 1 tablespoon lime juice + 1 tablespoon brown sugar = 2 tablespoon tamarind paste. It won't give you the authentic taste but probably the best substitute. Have you tried checking out any Asian groceries supermarket where you lived for the tamarind paste?

@loibeeji2207 Sago pudding will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days in air tight container, and up to 3 months in the freezer. Freeze in individual, freezer-safe containers. Defrost overnight in the fridge. Happy cooking and enjoy!😋

Okay I saw "Lemon Cheese Cake" and I clicked on the video thumbnail, liked and subscribed immediately, no questions asked. I can taste it already and you are a toubling woman, you know that?
Growing boys aren't the ONLY culprit! I've raised two daughters and I can recall a FEW weekends where almost $200 in groceries vanish because they invited a pack of friends over. I enjoyed being ABLE to provide this venue and service for them. That is my favorite pleasure in life! - Sharing my blessings. But they always emptied my 4 gallon sun brewed sweet tea with fresh lemon. I taught them kids how to make the stuff a hundred times if I taught them ONCE! Do you think they ever made any tea? NO! Silly kids. One girl that came over liked bacon too much. Another: it was ice cream. One time I left only TWO girls alone at home for 45 minutes. TWO DOZEN tamales vanished in that time. HOW?!! I found the corn husks between her bed and the wall. HIDDEN! I joked about their love for tamales to another one of the parents and they said my daughter must not ever get paratha or samosas at home. Palm to forehead. Kids are voracious BEASTS!
