Good news: This problem has been fixed. Long-short story: My N64 is part of the first revisions (CPU-NUS-04 - NS11); it came from USA with its NTSC-M video format. However, as it got in Brazil, a company badly manufactured it to PAL-M, so this issue used to occur on games that take advantage of Expansion Pak. In the end I had bought the necessary components, and made my video-game work flawless...

Does anybody here think Doom 64 on Watch Me Die skill level is really hard? You should definitely try Brutal Doom 64 on HARDCORE...

Piece of cake. The Lost Episodes from Doom 64 are much harder.
I'm surprised CyberDemon won... I only defeated Mother the same moment I was killed. Lucky escape really.

I just gave up on this level and skipped it using password for 29. The most ridiculous boss fight ever.
I just hid behind the purple stone and killed it with super shotgun

WOW JUST BEAT IT EASY 😂, but I used a different strat, Spam BFG (green energy gun)
For me it shoots rocket meatballs before I can even come close to do that so it is impossible
when I finished this, I ended up dying but I had shot the last rocket and it killed the demon queen, epic!
I use rocket when i'm invincible too keep the Green laser gun at the end.
Cyberdemon knows how to handle a one night stand.

That's a good point. Though, I really enjoy the super shotgun in this game and decided to use it instead of R. Launcher. Also, I saved some rockets at first in order to kill those pain elementals as soon as possible.

Amazing stuff, I'm surprised at how fast the Mother Demon died by a super shotgun. It does make me wonder how many original Nintendo players had even completed it, considering the lower framerate and different controller. 🤔
Doom 64 doesn't really have a lower frame-rate. it runs remarkably well on the origional hardware, and the controls can be customized enough to make it very playable. Doom 64 is my favorite Doom, whether it's the original cart, the EX version or the rereleased version bundled with Eternal.
The way I defeated mother demon on regular doom64 (wihout demon keys) is to save your BFG ammo and when she appears just run up as close as you can (to maximize BFG damage) to her and fire off the BFG quickly and she dies in a few short seconds. She will only hit you a couple of times max and there is a super charge at her position as well.

You can save your ammo by not shooting at the monsters they tend to kill each other off fairly quickly save everything for the last big bad

@@alexmercer9672 you may have to use your Gatling gun to counter the face chasers or whatever they're called, but other than that maybe one shot from The BFG to take out the stragglers that are left will suffice, but try to save it for the final boss it takes 5 to 7 shots sometimes less if you're lucky to take out the mother demon with the BFG

@@yoyyoy6357 Distance from target matters with the BFG because of how it works. When the ball impacts, 40 tracers are shot in a v-shape emanating from the player's current position, but in the direction in which the shot was fired. Because of the 90 degree spread of the tracers, you need to get close to maximize the damage. At point blank, two perfect shots will be lethal, regardless of rng (assuming no hit detection problems, which can happen). From far enough away that no tracers hit, (1024 map units or farther in og doom, idk what it is in doom 64) it will take, on average, about 11 or 12 blasts!

I legit had to use an exploit just to beat the mother demon. In case you wanna know how just hide behind one of the things you can put the keys in and peek in and out of cover.

lol I beat the game just shooting minigun and shotgun while CD was caged. I guess No Escape is meant for Cyber Demons I guess.
Really tough level. I've been at it on and off now for two days. Can't get past it, just torrents of unavoidable fire coming at me. It's getting really frustrating now 😂
it helped me being at a right distance (i got this distance down completely random) and hiding behind one of the portals/gates where monsters come from initially. The distance made some of the missiles overshoot me and i think they crashed at the wall behind me, then i think some others crashed at the portal/gate structure. I think it helps to come out of cover to shoot and walk towards the monster a bit so that the missiles overshoot easier since she aims them and fires and by the time they are fired u are already closer and the missiles fly over you, not sure if i am being clear.
So are you playing on the easiest difficulty because this tactics absolutely does not work.

@@GooLePHBR Not sure that there is much of a difference. The strat still works for me, even if they might have lowered the boss's pain chance (I don't think they did, but someone please correct me if i'm mistaken).
@@doomstuff1 They certainly fixed the pain chance caused by the super shotgun. As you said, it's still possible to beat the game following this strat. Though, I don't recommend it anymore.
@@GooLePHBR Out of curiosity, what was the problem? Shouldn't it just call RNG 20 times for the pain chance, assuming all pellets hit?

I think that people under appreciate the mother demon and the spider mastermind, they are both Great bosses, sure the Cyberdemon is the most iconic, however both the mother demon and the mastermind deserve as much respect as the Cyberdemon
