Thanks for this. I quit listening right around the beginning of COVID when the show became a Trump bashing platform. Not that I'm political, but it was relentless.

It really is sad. I have not listened at all in 2 years, maybe more. Only way I know about what's happening is their Instagram feed. My annual sub with Sirius ends this coming February, and I am sadly going to scale it back to a plan that won't allow me to listen to The HSS. When I see or hear clips from the show years-past, I really feel sad.

I tried to listen when he went to sirius. All i heard was ads, constant unfunny pre recorded bits with richard and sal, etc. Just got tired of it.

Great list, a lot of the changes were already announced in the leaked staff meeting; you hit it on the nail with the 'scripted' feel of the show, augmented by the staff looking like actors who came out of makeup and dressed up, even the interns or other weird new staff who are weirdly alient to me. In the past, everyone was casually dressed and topics would be brought up spontaneously, not longer the case today. What you left out though, is Fred taking over for Artie having to do bits with puppets (cringe) and Benjy working himself out of the studio when he was literally plugging Elisa. I also believe Stern was relieved once Artie left the way he did, as it meant he could 'break' with any deplorable callers, comedians and wack pack, and go full Hollywood Howie, with no one left to call him out on it.

2020?? I canceled my Sirius in 2014. Pretty much stopped listening in 2012. Show went downhill in 2009.

I was die hard Howard from 98 until 2013. Now omg I can’t believe what he has turned into. And the fact he completely lies about his past.

I started listening to Stern in the late 80’s as i lived in the Philadelphia market (his shows started here in 1986). Howard needs a supporting cast to succeed. This is what everyone misses about Stern’s success, he can’t do it alone. That’s why his show is so lame now, because it’s essentially him and Robin mixed in with Gary. Stern had a great supporting cast like Jackie, Artie, Gary, Billy West, Fred, Stuttering John, and it was one big reality show. Stern is not Johnny Carson where the show was 100% about him, people tuned in for him to bust Gary’s ball, hear Fred’s sound effects, hear Jackie’s laugh, see what voice Billy West would do, see what crazy thing Artie would do. Stern was the ultimate composer who was able to bring it together and make an entertaining show for 4 hours. Yes Stern has gone woke, and he has gone Hollywood Howie when he went on Dancing With the Stars. But he always thought HE was the only reason people tuned in, and that was never the case. He needed his supporting cast just as much as they needed him. Stern did an interview show in 1992-93 for E channel by himself. The show lasted one season because it wasn’t the same without the supporting cast. Pat Cooper said it right to Stern’s face in 1995, “I am a comedian, you’re not.” He was saying to Howard that you aren’t funny unless you have your supporting cast around you, yet i can be funny when it’s just me. I loved Stern back in the days as those 90’s/00’s shows were as great as Radio can get. But as he burned bridges and Billy West left, Jackie left. Stuttering John left and finally Artie left. It’s just Howard and Robin now and it’s the lamest radio around. This is Howard without a supporting cast. Pat Cooper was exactly right.

He negotiated summers off with Sirius. I don’t get why that’s a bad thing. The guy is rich enough to have retired years ago. He’s doing his show on a limited basis instead of retiring. It’s a win win for everyone.

I have been a fan since the early 90's of Howard Stern. Now, I ended my Howard Stern satellite subscription 2 years ago. Howard Stern is done it's not the same anymore it's over

You mean, the show has gotten worse?? I stopped listening when Artie left. However, I really stopped enjoying it when Jackie quit. I use to listen every day since February 1987 when I was 13! For ten years, the show was terrific! Then Howard started seeing a shrink and he got a divorce. That's when the cracks started to appear. By the time Artie came on, the show was already sinking. Today, Howard and the show have become unrecognizable to me. Such a shame!

He really destroyed his legacy. He could've hung it up about ten years ago, and went out on top. And he could do some small side project like Seinfeld.

I think most people don't understand that Hansey was right. Howard sold his soul to become popular with the "cool kids". Ultimately I left Sirius when he told Ellen how much he liked the dancing opening of her show. I knew then what was going on. He's being used to spread propaganda for the globalists, and he'll go until he can't. Can I have my money back, Sirius? I've spent 10k on subs and equipment over the last 15 years or so. F.U. Stern!!!!! 😂

Before 2020, he went from laughing at the rise of Podcasts, then to hating their popularity over taking the popularity of traditional radios/talk shows, to now where he reformatted the show as one, by simply refusing to come back to the studio. The lack of love for the show, clearly present in Fred, Robin, and Gary as well.

I canceled the premium satellite radio membership a couple weeks ago. His show has been bad since he left the studio. And he’s old. If he can’t be bothered to go into the studio to create a good show, I can’t be bothered to pay for it.

Absolutely brilliant breakdown couldn't agree more... Stop listening in 2019... Just couldn't take it anymore... Only 8 minutes in already loving it...... My favorite era from 2006 to about 2014.... I can't tell you how much I listen to these underground videos on TH-cam.... And any Howard Stern fans I suggest you find them before they're deleted.... The stuff he says about political figures and people now to hear him talks like who the hell is this guy..... There's so many good interviews from 2006 to 10 where he says stuff and now you go can you imagine if people heard that and I'm not talking racy sexy stuff... Just how he absolutely praises Trump and talks so much crap about Biden in 2009 lol
