This is the restoration of an old railroad crossing light. I will probably come back to this light later and try some nickel plating. Enjoy.

Vintage Drill Repair
มุมมอง 7636 ปีที่แล้ว
This is an old Dormeyer drill I had that didn't work. I cleaned it up and put a new cord on it. I had to repair the chuck because one of the jaws were damaged. There were no bearings in this drill, just bushings that were still tight. I may get some new brushes for it because it feels a little weak to me.

Restoration of Old Rusty Dietz Lantern
มุมมอง 18K6 ปีที่แล้ว
This is my video of an old rusty Dietz lantern restoration. This vintage lantern was pretty rusty but cleaned up good with some rust remover and wire wheel. These lanterns were very popular and useful back in the day. I think this old lantern turned out good. Feel free to leave suggestions for future content. I will try to post a new video every week. If you like this restoration please share, ...

Not A Vintage Hand Drill Restoration
มุมมอง 3.3K6 ปีที่แล้ว
This is just and clean up and refresh of nice old Craftsman hand drill. It wasn't in bad shape but it was missing a knob. This is my first time recording and editing a video for TH-cam. This is really just a test video that I did to play around with an editing program and an old camera I have. Any constructive criticism is welcomed. Ounce I get this recording and editing figured out I will be p...

Was all the rust removal at one time or did you let parts soak for periods of time?

Nice retauration but one last thing is required: you must trim the wick so that the flame appears uniform. Your wick is a little bit higher at the righthand side which leads to a sooty flame there. If the top of your wick and of the flame is near flat, you will prevent soot formation.

You do really beautiful work here, cleaning up and caring to show each part. The sounds of this video are even very relaxing (this video could be titled ASMR and potentially into the millions- not exaggerating). I found this video because I am curious about how the Taylor Boggis junior stoves worked, and your video was a pleasant find in this category. Most videos these days have a lot of chatter, and this video was both informative, AND enjoyably relaxing/meditative. I know this video is a few years old, but I have subscibed in case you start up again.

Fantastic video! I just acquired a 1929 Deitz D-Lite No 2 in at least as bad a shape as your before pic. I’m going to start the reconditioning process soon. Thinking of simply using a clear coat (if I can find high heat) instead of paint. Otherwise I’ll have to look at color options. Glad I found your video. I think I can do this too. Thank you!

Quick question for you. I have an old drill from a company called Mall and the cord is easy to replace but the metal handle that the cord goes into is somehow bent. Do you think it will snap if I try to bend it back? It is pretty thick and VERY strong metal. Not as thick as the rest of the drill but fairly thick, approximately 1mm thick. The rest of the drill is 1/2 thick. I know it is risky and you might not be sure but I was just wondering what you thoughts were on bending 1mm thick metal.
