    The shroud is fake it has no top of the head . the forehead is less than an inch or two from the back of the head , if wrapped around a head the image would show the top of the head . Try it your self with a tea towel or pillow case over your head . People are arguing about detail while missing the obvious . Look at original photos of the shroud not artist representation as in your thumb nail .

    How much of an impact has it had on the Judas story that Christians have traditionally associated Akeldama field with the site of the tomb complex of the house of the high priest Annas? And what about Papias' two versions, in both of which Judas' body swells, but in one it is crushed under the chariots and in the other it swells into a shapeless mass and is eaten by worms, causing a terrible stench to emanate from the body?

    This video seems to be a good and convincing summary of what is known about first century synagogues. Thanks for that. There are still some scholars who hold to the idea that synagogues, Pharisees, Nazareth, hand washing, Passover and the use of the term "rabbi" are anachronistic for the Gospels. But the more research and discoveries are made by researchers and archaeologists, the more cornered that idea becomes.

    Ok I’ll stand here and say as someone who just learned about this thing, I’m very angry they never gave any evidence besides speculation was upsetting. They basically just said, “ye they got science and fancy words but who knows” which is literally the arguments mainstream science hates to hear.

    Love Dr. Cargill and your takedown of the Mt Ebal curse tablet. I have tried to explain to Christians that the word "ekklesia" in the NT does not mean church. If used secularly it would have meant an assembly and if used in a theological connotation it would have meant synagogue. Oh the wailing and gnashing of teeth that information creates among them.

    • @danielmalinen6337
      @danielmalinen6337 3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      In Finnish, "ekklesia" is usually translated as "seurakunta". It is a Finnish neo-word created by the church and it means "gathering" or "to keep company". According to the traditional explanation, this was intended to distinguish that the church is just a building and not the "ekklesia". Nowadays, the word has spread to secular use in Finnish, and any occasions where there are many people gathered can be called "seurakunta".

    The Bible often uses story elements before they are officially introduced in the storyline. You can see this in exodus 16 where it says Moses and Aaron placed the manna in the Ark of the Covenant, but its not until exodus 20 where we actually learn what the Ark of the Covenant is. Genisis 1:27 is just a foreshadowing of Genesis 2 where the Bible explains specifically how man and woman came to be.

    People seem to have the idea that everyone needs to prove its NOT real. Thats not how this works lol. You guys make the positive claim that this is the shroud Jesus was wrapped in when he died. When you make any sort of positive claim, the burden of proof is on you. This burden has been carried by Christians for hundreds of years and still, to this day, has not been proven. I bet thousands of years from now we still wont have a single question answered.

    just did a whole bunch of research on it. the only way to replicate what happened would be you'd have to use a form of light to age certain strands of the cloth , taking 20 to 30 lasers simultaneously doing it. It was Some burst of light that caused the imprint. If you look at the details of what's really going on with the shroud there's no way somebody in 1200 would know what to do to make it scientifically sound today. There's a 3D imprinted image in the cloth it's like taking a picture but with shadows and light and heat
