Blackmagic Cloud Pod - Why you should buy it
มุมมอง 7Kปีที่แล้ว
The Blackmagic Cloud Pod is a useful tool that could be just the right tool for certain creators. For me it has a range of features that make it a staple of my workflow. As a quick disclaimer, I am not an expert in all things storage, this is just the little i have learned along the way from trial and error. I hope this is helpful for some people. Sad to report that I run back to Safari as I am writing this!! What a one-night-stand company philosophy they have .... Just disappointing. Not even and adequate support and then moving on to improve, just a plain cold turkey goodbye.

    Why i love it: 1. it has a 10 gbit Port, so i dont loose pontential speed, when i connect it directly to my Mac Studio. 2. It has no security bullshit, to enter username and Passwort. I my case its an advantage, because i use it like a USB- Hub which is connected via Ethernetcabel 3. It is much faster and much simpler than the qnap i used before. 4. i love the Screen-Thing where you can See how it works I had a long search to find this. Especialy a machine like this, whithout all that all that Security-Bullshit is Hard to find.

    1: _Every_ browser nowadays has a fullscreen mode, I'm pretty sure. Most often bound to F11. 2: The only other browser I know of with a pop-out video player is Opera, so that is a plus compared to FF and Chrome, IIRC. 3: As someone who consumes a lot of disposable media (youtube videos and individual text articles), I can't see myself using this "workspaces" concept. I want to open something in a tab, partake of its contents, then close it. I don't need to go back to it. If I need to do that, I can just bookmark it. I can also make a bookmarks folder and "open all" to get effectively the same functionality, with albeit a bit of work on my end. Opera also has this feature, but I personally see no use for it in my own workflows. 4: OK, ever since that one website CSS overwriter got canned for selling people's information, there has been a distinct lack of functionality in that regard. I like this "boosts" idea. However, what on green earth is this about needing an account to use a browser? I don't know about you, but given the choice between having a Microsoft/Google/Apple style Everything-Is-Connected account just to use my browser, and having to abandon half the internet and go back to Netscape Navigator 7.2, then I will go back to Netscape. I even have it installed at this exact moment, and would not hesitate to forsake the dumpster-fire that is the modern internet.

    0:47 F11??? 1:10 ... So... Picture in picture? Which in most browsers already works flawlessly for any content, same as full screening, including video calls? Yeah, the only thing I like about Arc is the more vertical interface, as I am one of those 'monsters' that keeps their dock neatly nested onto the right side of the screen... Besides that... I keep my browser tabs clean by modifying Firefox into having thr address/search bar AND the tabs in the same line (the ideal thing would be to completely remove the address bar and having a shortcut to invoke it, but alas...)

    The 1.8 is a great lens. What you said about its performance wide open is true, but stop it down a little and I find it more appealing than the clinically sharp modern lenses. I have the 1.4 and FL 1.2 as well. They are faster glass, but I often grab the 1.8 because it's so small and light and easy to handle.

  • @terancehore1489
    @terancehore1489 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Honestly, digital sensors with modern lenses are just too sharp and contrast anyway. Bring back the soft, un-contrast images. Contrast is one of the easiest things to 'fix' in post-production anyway.
