This game should be less scared of ambient music. The OG has some of resident evil's best music. Having even the most bare bones music makes it infinitely scarier when you get rid of the music. Hearing the hall theme and then walking into the room where you first meet the licker, and knowing something's off because there's no music is one of the reasons that sequence is so scary.
This really is a great re-imagining of a wonderful theme. My only issue is that you don't get to hear it repeatedly in-game. Same with the Main Hall theme - you only hear them one time... though I do understand them going with silence through most of this game rather than having themes repeated, makes sense for this remake. but I still would've loved to hear this theme eternally while in a save room, at least. That's one of the things I always loved about save rooms in the old RE games, because it is a safe haven in a dark and dangerous place. the music helped you feel that, while at the same time being a little eerie, like it's reminding you that danger waits just outside the door. This new theme pulls that off well, just like the ones in the original games.
The original certainly is a little better (it plays in the Model Menu though for some reason???) but this is still a very fitting and calming save room theme.
I actually prefer this theme to the original RE2 theme. I understand the complaints about just getting a few seconds of the theme, but the game thrives on the quiet atmosphere whereas too much music derails from the "anything can happen at anytime" experience. As for the theme itself, it is a beautiful theme and I love the melody. Much more atmosphere in tone than the original. Like most save themes, it creates a vibe of sadness to the dire situation you are in, with a glimmer of hope.
Im happy that they revamped everything with the remake the over the shoulder view and inventory was really good except some of the music i dont really like
I played my first run with the original soundtrack. Played the 2nd run with the remake ost and was disappointed going into the safe room with the theme only lasting less than a minute maybe, since this theme was growing on me
não sei porque mas quando coloco a trilha remake na save room não toca essa música, mas quando eu coloco a trilha original toca a musica do antigo resident evil 2, não sei se é bug ou a musica é curta
So when's the outbreak remake? Don't mention ORC or Umbrella corps which feel like F2P games with RE tags on em. Rework it so you can finish it in single player and make the scenarios ~30 minutes long so even fortnite kids can retain enough attention while they shit their pants. Or just give me a Hunk game full scenario I'd be happy.
To be fair. This is actually a very decent re-imagining of the old RE2 Save Room theme. The added sound effects do help with keeping the dread on some level. I know a lot of older fans of the series will prefer the old version more, and I don't blame them. It was during a time when Survival Horror was a set of words that meant something for a game like Resident Evil. But I cannot judge this remake game on music alone. We will see how it plays as a game. If the promise of true Survival Horror is what we will get from it, then I can at least be happy with that. Truthfully, I want this remake of RE2 to be successful. I want it to at least invoke some of what the older version had. If it can do that, then there is nothing to worry about.
I’ll always love the original but this is beautiful. It’s a mixture of 2, 4, & 7. It has that feeling of relaxing like you’re ok and safe but still has that creepy eerie feeling of the dangers are still on the other side of that door and you gotta get back out there.
Relax guys is not like you're spending the whole game listening to this song, if you already got the original soundtrack version in deluxe edition why you're complaining to begin with then? Smh.
the real problem is that the remake is almost has no music .. the music plays only for seconds and then never again through the whole game .. capcom made sure to make us buy the DLC if we want music.
I don't think it's horrible I will say I kinda like the original better however I like the mixture between 4 and 2 and how it's melodic yet erie at the same time.
The Original one is better.

I don't know know why... but it makes me sad ~Samwise Gamgee

MystikWizard finally someone with sense.
Im glad they added where you can switch between the remake and original music
the 33 that disliked it died and forgot to save lol
Im happy that they revamped everything with the remake the over the shoulder view and inventory was really good except some of the music i dont really like
Weird it does not play for me at the safe rooms, it did a little the first time i walked into one. But then stopped again

Redzerg rava xar brat
Not nearly as good as the original.

Awe. They took away the original iconic piano theme.
RE7, RE4, and og RE2. Its nice but am i the only one who hears part of RE5’s result screen?
this is familiar to re4
Really ruined save rooms for me not hearing this theme. Should’ve been in every save room.
Kyrious RIGHT!! I swear i sat in a save room for like 5 minutes and didn’t hear a thing
Not mad about it, I just love all RE games safe room themes.
Brilliant, still prefer the original for obvious reasons ^^
DELUXE EDITION NUFF SAID!
I hear re4 in this.
I never felt safe in the save rooms... especially on the second run when tyrant would stomp right on by... so I never got to enjoy this theme.

When I heard this theme, I thought the merchant would appear and say "WELCOME, Stranger! Its been a while...! ~"
I’m mad the music stops after like two minutes and then you don’t hear it anymore
Johnny Boy Yeah it’s a shame, I play with the original soundtrack on and it fits the remake very well.
Make a petition to make it loop infinitely
Amazing save theme for an amazing game!
Anyone remember the merchants theme from re4
I hear 2 and feel the vibes of 7 as well.
I’ll always love the original but this is beautiful. It’s a mixture of 2, 4, & 7. It has that feeling of relaxing like you’re ok and safe but still has that creepy eerie feeling of the dangers are still on the other side of that door and you gotta get back out there.
God this is just gorgeous, can’t wait to get this
I love the resident evil 4 background music ❤️
It's not that good or memorable as RE1 or RE2 or Even 4
Welp tonight is finally coming out
Relax guys is not like you're spending the whole game listening to this song, if you already got the original soundtrack version in deluxe edition why you're complaining to begin with then? Smh.
People are going to complain regardless. Most people are never satisfied
@@sirnickels9979 true that bro.

beautifully haunting
i want the original goddammit
you will have to pay for that, it is a DLC .. capcom will always find a way to make us pay more
@@ColdStorms its sad, i just bought the deluxe edition which cost me around $13 more
I don't think it's horrible I will say I kinda like the original better however I like the mixture between 4 and 2 and how it's melodic yet erie at the same time.
It will have to grow on me..i like it tho
Not even close to being as good as the original imo
