I'm still waiting on MP Prime figures lol

Who cares. They don't need to prove anything, there's never been such thing as an official, consistent scale, besides the one you can make from alt-modes based on real vehicles. Regarding bot modes, it's all over the place since well before the MP line. I don't collect MP since they went cartoon accurate (whatever that means), but MP-60 looks great and toy-like, so it's an instant buy for me.

Takara lost the right to use the word Masterpiece as soon as they scaled down the figures from their original MP01 size, and that's not even mentioning their quality control issues with figures like Rodimus Prime. Lastly, third party manufacturers are producing higher quality goods with superior transformations that are outpacing anything Takara can do.

Just get FansHobby's version of Power Master Optimus Prime.

Thank goodness i've only collected G1 of Season 1 / 2 and Partial Movie figures, never was into the Japanese continuity... The only upsetting thing is not having official Jazz/Mirage in the Masterpiece scale... but I got very good alternatives...

I think mp-60 and mpg-09 will be full backwards compatible with original powermaster toy. So, scale of mpg-09 will be roughly the same as mp-24.

Mann!! Great video Mike!! Yes!! I agree with everything said. Personally, for me ..I could never really understand Takara. Is almost like they lack focus. One day they're doing a Hoist, another day they'll be Transformers masterforce, than they'll go to season 3. But yet those Train bots don't scale with the actual Masterpiece line. Than they say there coming out with an MPG line that will replace the current Masterpiece line. But they don't really clarify if the Numeric sequence will continue? Will it be MPG-01? 🤷‍♂️ ..people are not sure if they're going with another scale 🤔...is almost like they lack focus and direction!..to be honest. Third-party has literally been the Go To for alot of collectors. If companies like Fanstoys, Xtransbots, Mmc Ocular Max, Deformation Space, Star toys, wouldn't exist..I don't think I would collect. I surely hope they're successful!! Because I really do love Takara! I think there Hoist and Trailbreaker are the Definitive versions of the Characters imo! Also Mp-44, MP-47 Hound, and imo they get the Articulation and they seem to capture likenesses of the Characters the Best. But I think sometimes like xtb..they pick poor choices in materials. Imo!! Mmc seems to be the best when it comes to that plability factor. As always great video Mike!!❤

I am very happy with my Fans Hobby Power Baser and the God Armour. However, I am miffed that TakaraTomy appear to be abandoning the masterpiece scale when there're still many figures they haven't done. I've been waiting for the Insecticons (there's no way I'm paying the inflated prices for the Fans Toys ones), Galvatron, Jazz, Springer, heck all the triple changers and headmasters.

So whats your opinion after reading it?

hey I'm not hating but around 70 bucks for those figures is a fair price but I ordered my bootlegs from AliExpress for half the price and they are like around 32 bucks for where I got them all the shipping and taxes included for the same version but probably less quality

Crazy notion....I want mmc to buy DNA and redo this guy and his brother.same mold, just with fixes and the qc of mmc. I just rebouhht this guy and I have no regrets . Nor banzi-tron either. . Also most mps have to tab in directly do t they? :p

28:38 Beautiful shot there! Good to have options… I own Agent Meister, Zeta Toys Jazzy, and now FT48X… all of them have something that keeps them from being perfect. I still hope for version (official maybe?) that combines the best of all of them… with clear (or smoke) windows please! Those blue ones are suited for a 5 year old aesthetic.

I've got the Downbeat reissue and whilst I too, prefer the toy rather than toon aesthetic like Downbeat. as his head sculpt is quite IDW. I've sold my FT Jive in favour of FT-48X primarily for alt mode (same for TE-03 Speedstar/Mirage). The only thing that bugs me about FT-48X is the gold rims. I'm now thinking to get a TR-01 to keep in alt mode and FT-48X can live in alt mode. May see if I can get some Toyhax labels for Downbeat to 'toy him up' a bit. I cant say I enjoyed the FT-48X transformation.

Mp10s proportions are way off. His waist is too low and that's why most carbots don't seem to scale properly. Jive is probably still a little too tall but not by much

For any third party listening: take the diaclone toys that became transformers, and scale the car modes correctly. Transformations should largely follow the diaclone if at all possible to make it easier for long-time fans with few exceptions for modern posing (Datsun legs can fold like the WFC, for example). Don't use translucent plastic if at all possible, unless the vehicle has a somewhat functional interior like Binaltech had. Then, make them modern-poseable like the Gen Selects or SS86 figures. Then, if there's a huge or important difference between diaclone and G1 - Trailbreaker's head, or Ironhide/Ratchet - make the diaclone version and the G1 version an option if possible. But always favor the diaclone or real-world level of vehicle and robot detail. For Ironhide/Ratchet, you kind of have to make an exception. If the diaclone has door-wings, then have them in robot mode (Jazz, Prowl, Bluestreak). If the diaclone has door arms, make him have door arms (Sideswipe) rather than fake door parts. Don't hide wheels unless it's Prime's front wheels. But absolutely do not make them ridiculously fiddly to transform that it takes 30 minutes to move from one mode to another. That's not fun. It's frustrating. Remember - scale the vehicles first, make them real-world detailed. Then, make the robots diaclone-detailed with exception made to G1 differences (faces/heads) as needed. Done.

This FT-48X is an amazing figure, but at over $200, I'll stick to my $50 Transform Element Agent Meister. Yikes!

After all these years, that Generation Toy Jazz still takes the cake. Easily the best looking of all. Hurts that you had it right there and gave it no love at all. I like the FT but they lost me when they charged $100+ for the toy version.

Fanstoys killed it!! He looks phenomenal!! That Maketoys is also an amazing figure. That Agent Meister is not bad either. To be honest all of them were great for there time. I wonder if Fanstoys will Re-tool that mold and make a Smoke Screen and a Prowl. As always great video Mike!

Just happened to stumble onto this review. First time I've actually ever seen anything from your channel. Some good stuff! I pretty much 100% agree with your assessment, but I'm kind of curious to see how a regular release of jive compares to any other version when the toy hax sticker sheet that they produce for this figure either improves or doesn't approve the figure that incredibly much What turns me off is still having the blue lights and windows and being as expensive as that it is. It shouldn't be as expensive and limited in production. I personally think the fan toys made a mistake by not giving you both options and equal quantity if you wanted one or the other. Similar to how they did bombshell with either a gray or purple chest. They should have done the same thing here. As to scale, I think it's good to have a reference, but realistically a lot of these guys jumped and shrunk and height depending on scene and animation factory. So they got shorter or hot or taller depending on who was doing what. Fans toys jive is to scale with the rest of the MP line. All the other mainstream cars are the same height roughly as this guy when transformed. Which is interesting. The thing that I think is going to be more common with future releases is that a lot of masterpiece figures are going to be open to customization. Meaning just for example I still think that the Takara release of Ironhide and ratchet are the best that we have gotten to this point, but the factory mold or design I think it's slightly lacking. But when you add in the shadow Fisher hip kit, I think it greatly improves the figure overall. I still think that mp21 bumblebee is still the best masterpiece bumblebee, but there's a lot to be improved on the mold in general. A new head sculpt, a little bit of work done on the hips and legs, but otherwise I think it's the best version we have of him. Better I think than the second release. But in general I think a lot of masterpieces suffer from being very close to being spot on, but just a slight bit of work still needed to be put into them to be completely 100% dead on. I think that's the general issue that you stumble on a lot of these guys. But in general, cool video man!

I have the toon Jive and Agent Meister. Jive is for bot mode and meister for car mode. Meister was so affordable, I can’t justify buying the x version of Jive for the deco. I’ll keep both figures in their current modes and that’ll do the job perfectly. Really, Agent Meister looks perfect for the car and Jive is perfect as robot. End of story 😃

26:13 That's a great tip for tabbing the speakers into the hips! Thanks! I've got FT-48, FT-48X in a sealed box and Transform and Rollout Hova. I *had* to get FT-48X as I adore the mold so much, even though my plan was Hova for the toy look and FT-48 for the cartoon look. I'm not desperate to get FT-48X out as I have the other two, but I was concerned to hear that some copies have mismatched paint. Both versions of Jive were made at the same time and it seems some of the plain white parts made it onto some pearlescent white Xs. I may open it up to inspect, and actually be the first person in history who really did only open the box, just to inspect the figure. One other thing that Hova has over others, except J4ZZ, is the way you can have the front wheels above the bonnet/hood in robot mode, matching the toy really well. It is a great figure which would be an excellent figure if the arms weren't so finicky to connect to the torso bar.

I got the Transform and Rollout version which was really good; especially because it was $50. It’s now my alt mode version. I waited a long time for the FT version. I love both.

What turntable are you using?

I have the original FT-48 and love it, looks stunning and has great articulation, I’m a toon accuracy guy

They looks cool but seems to be a few issues with the measurements like the ark stand and the wrong titles on the bases ?
