Hey, thanks for checking out my video! 👍 I heard that, too, basically; he was apparently made at model train sizes as fan service to the Japanese market which is made of fans who like model train sets. Trains are a big part of Japanese culture. I used Raiden as an example of Takara not seeming to have a consistent scale within their own MPG toy line.

Not that I’m aware of. I’ve always seen his name on Japanese products displayed as “Convoy”. But maybe there’s a version of him which is called “Iron Convoy”. 👍🤷

😆👍 Newage Romulus looks good! But it’s too small for the Masterpiece scale.

Even if we don't get a revival, at least the slow burn of APC Toys/Gear Factory and AC Toys is keeping the line alive. 🔥😁 But I'd love to see some Masterpiece-scale versions of TFP characters, too. Maybe a revival is the only way we'll get those. 🤷‍♂

But with a line called "Masterpiece" and the fact that they reset the line with MP-10, doesn't it seem like they were saying that things were supposed to be in scale, at least mostly? I'm just not cool with a Ginrai MUCH smaller than Optimus Prime.

Thanks, bro! I think Takara knows that the most hard-core fans are G1 fans, and so they're in no rush to release the entire cast since there are other TF eras they might be able to get G1 fans and others to buy along the way. If they aren't careful, third-party might eat their lunch! And if we see third-party releases get cancelled and become fewer and fewer, we'll know that Takara/Hasbro has held third-party's chain all this time.

Power Baser looks really cool. 👍How tall is the base "Ginrai" bot compared to MP-10 or MP-44 Optimus? With the latest leaked announcement of a MPG Shattered Glass Optimus (th-cam.com/video/gaHX6NGiYZE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EOccd2RrzuXI1i9n&t=130), I wouldn't be surprised if all Takara puts out in the near future from MPG are new "MPG class" characters and repaints of existing MP molds. If they do release new G1 MP size figures in the MPG line, I bet they'll string collectors along with mostly other stuff in between. 🙄

@@mp_reviews you know Mike!! Is like what you said!!..we have no Insecticons, they didn't finish the Dinobots, no Galvatron, Constructicons, or other season 1, 2, 3, Staple main Characters. But yet they'll do a Skids?..🤔 I mean, I don't get it? 🤷. Once again I love Takara, but is almost like Gosh!! Do they know there market?..than they released those Trainbots ..what a Catastrophe! I mean, am happy for people who bought them and love them!! But Goodness Gracious!! $160 for one Trainbot?..that looks like a CHUG mainline? That's insane. Did you see when he combines? It's like ..almost incredible that they actually sold this to the public. 😵

@@mp_reviews The Ginrai part of Power Baser is the same height as MP-10. I believe Fans Hobby is reissuing Power Baser in the fourth quarter of this year..

I’m afraid Takara will be stringing out the remaining G1 characters people want among other releases (e.g. re-decos and other undersized combiners like Raiden) in the hope that Masterpiece TF fans will buy those along the way. If so, we may NEVER get Takara releases of some of the G1 characters people want. #pleasetakaratomy #moreg1masterpieceplease

I picked up the rerelease. It’s not my ideal Ginrai (too chunky), but it looks great.

It’s a good read. A well-written backstory of Primus, Unicron, and the 13 Primes, it gives the reader the sense that this book is an actual translation of ancient stories.

Yes, Fortress Maximus is 22" tall, so this "Ultima Guard"/Omega Supreme is about an inch and a half taller.

As far as I know, yes. I've had excellent dealings with them. I only had to clarify a misunderstanding with them once.

I don't know if this is true, but the rumor I heard was that it may have been due to a lack of a licensing agreement with Porsche, but then we got Mirage as a Porsche in "Rise of the Beasts", so go figure. 🤷‍♂ And with the ending of the Masterpiece (MP) collectibles line by its absorption into the Masterpiece Gattai (MPG) line, I'm not sure we'll ever get another true MP-scaled Transformer again. 😟

The FT Jazz is my favorite bot and I got a lot of bots.

I have the X-Transbots combiners pre ordered. So both Constructicons and Protectobots, worried they are going to get released within months of each other! Any replacement figures are a long way off!

Thanks for pointing out the strength of #maketoys ‘ IDW look. As you can see, I wasn’t sure which MP Jazz version was the best for me until now. As always, the “best” doesn’t necessarily mean “perfect”. Oh! And depending on which picture you find of the real-life Martini-Porsche #4, those gold rims on FT-48X are alt mode-accurate. That transformation was satisfying for me but not easy. 👍 I’m also hoping that ToyHax has a label set for FT-48X as there are a couple of details which Fans Toys advertised but didn’t include: the design on his abdomen and the Porsche emblem on his bumper! 😮

@@mp_reviews I've seen the Porsche with the gold rims so the accuracy of FT-48X is spot on in that the regard. The silver rims are purely my personal preference. Great review by the way! 👍
