How To OVERCOME VR Motion Sickness (Personal Experience)
You always cover stuff that others don’t cover. I don’t know why this channel isn’t more popular.
Maybe it is because of how inconsistent I was with my videos lately or my accent. Either way, thank you for the support.
This is it? This is the peak of vr? 😆
By "Quest 3S is peaking" I was referring to how well the Quest 3S was received compared with other VR headsets. But if you want to look at VR in general I still believe we had one of the best years from the recent period.
Mechanical engineering student here, looking to hopefully see full dive before i get old. I'm planning on working on something with full dive, looking for any volunteer computer scientists, software engineers, biomed / medical engineers, and anybody else who thinks they have anything to add, or even just wants to helo anyway they can. Comment below and if i get enough interest ill make a discord.
I'm happy to see someone who has the ability to contribute to the development of this technology more than myself. My dreams about this tech have started with shows like Metrix and Sword Art Online, but the conviction that I may see it become a reality started after discovering a TH-cam channel named Virtual Dreamers(@VirtualDreamers). I wish you luck in inspiring other people and pushing this technology forward.
I’m buying a 3S as a temporary headset since my quest 2 is falling apart and I plan to make vr content And ima buy the regular quest 3 later as my third vr headset
I'm glad to hear you used your Quest 2 to the fullest, and I wish you luck in your content creation journey.
Yes I would. why? reasons. 1 human life only lasts as long as the body does but if you can upload your self more or less to a game you could live in the game long after your body died think of it as a back up of the original up in the cloud. once your confirmed dead your back up would be your main body in a virtual game it would be you but at the same time not you same as kid you vs adult you. this would be a version of you living in full dive vr for maybe 200 or more years until we can download you into a body eventually yes you will have to deal with human rights issues like an anime or Manga but it still beats being deleted from the servers of life but there is a chance your normal body can have age reversing technology making your body last for who knows how long by the time this gets figured out. reason 2 it would be a way better way to play games or live than today it would be a fantasy come true for most gamers. reason 3 think of it everything you would want just a click away know real reason to say no. the problem is who would pay for it and keep it running even if we could do it we are talking about preserving the existence of all human life on this earth from that point on meaning sooner or later we'll hit a technical cap with the hole world turned into a big sever. well this is not as daunting as one might imagine we will have workers like from ghost in the shell working on it to keep it running think all the people who died turned into a workforce to keep themselves alive using robots and the power coming from everything from solar wind nuclear Hydro even waste making it doable for a long long time if needed but we will not need two because of the advances in space technology soon to make other planets earth like. you would be surprised what you can do when you start saving human lives instead of burning them
That will be an interesting future, but personally, I believe that even after full-dive VR becomes a reality, some more time will need to pass before we figure out how to completely disconnect from our physical bodies and exist as standalone consciences in a virtual world.
The problem with these types of reviews is your ignoring the basic understanding that a lot of people people just don't have the extra money to to afford the Quest 3. Meaning they don't buy the 3s they might not buy any VR headset, to many reviews never take those facts in to consideration. Especially if you're not in America. For instance, the Quest 3s in Australia costs $499.99 and the 3 is $799.99, that's a lot of money!
I understand what you mean, but it is tough to consider the individual differences from each country/region. I'm also not from America. I live in Europe, but I prefer to refer to the base price of the headsets when I make comparisons since it is much easier to let the price conversion to each person since they know the best the prices in their countries.
no headphone jack has always been a deal breaker on ANY device for me
It's a shame, but I suppose they somehow needed to save some production costs. I hope they will include a headphone jack in future headsets like quest pro 2 and quest 4, and not make this the new standard.
If it’s of any interest to you I’ve found a workaround. The Bluetooth audio latency sucks from any quest headset but if you have wireless audio and are using pcvr you can connect your audio to the vr game on the monitor display and the latency will be almost completely gone. I tested this in Vrchat and beat saber and only ever had even slightly noticeable lag in high intensity songs like crystallized on expert+
If it’s of any interest I have a workaround. It requires a wireless audio option and pcvr, but if you connect a Bluetooth audio device to the vr game display on a monitor, you’ll have the same low-latency response as any wireless headset. No noticeable delay even in fast paced experiences. The problem with connecting Bluetooth audio to the headset itself is the high latency due to the bandwidth being used up to communicate to the controllers. At least from my situation it’s more practical and effective than buying a cable splitter to use wired audio. Unless you don’t have pcvr or Bluetooth

Sorry for that. I mainly learned my English from movie/anime subtitles and games, so I have some words that have been imprinted in my brain the wrong way.😅 Il work on them.
are there even alternatives on that price range or lower?
If the price is a real deal breaker for you, then they really aren't. Buying a second-hand Quest 2 will be cheaper, but the the technical specs are so much lower that I can't recommend it for a first VR experience at the end 2024. This video was mostly about deciding if you want to get a Quest 3S or save some more money for a better headset.
@@NokutoVR I was thinking of buying a 3 instead of the 3s because of lenses and I can get an used one for the same price
@@TheLifeLaVita If you can try the headset for some time to ensure that it doesn't have any dead pixels or other problems, and change the face interface, this could also be a good deal.

Yeah. One of my nightmares is being extremely old, hearing that Full Dive VR will become a reality next year, but dying in less than 11 months.😭
I've said it before in other comment sections, and I'll say it again, I'm skipping getting any kinds of implants in my head, but if the day comes that we get an actual headset which doesn't require surgeries to work, I'm getting it as soon as I can

The faster, the better, but I'm trying to enjoy the journey as well.
I think in the future if vr headsets get lighter and more comfortable to wear it's possible. It saves alot of space and well if you're the type of person that invites people over to watch your computer screen... ugh well there just screwed or just stream it to your TV lol
In the future VR headsets will reach a point in which some of us will prefer to use them at certain moments instead of a TV. What I wanted to say in this video was that the TV/Monitor will not be completely replace in the same way that we replaced for example wired phones with smart phones. Because monitors and TVs have an aspect of convenience that can't be found in VR.
You see, the matrix showed you that you must abstain of using VR headsets, thanks to your accident. Really good content man. The "I'll sell my soul" quote is honnestly terrifying because this is indeed the mark of the beast, think about it !
Oh look a vr news outlet, vtuber with cat ears appears, me: 💨

Bro nice accent, where are you from?
Glad you liked it. I'm from a European country named Romania.
i really hope the eye tracking does work! i cant wait to see where they are going with it!
Same. Right now we are into a strange situation in which we know that eye tracking is needed in VR for increased immersion, but it's to expensive so not many people have headsets that support it. Because of this the developers don't make experiences using this future so even the people who own headsets with eye tracking don't really have a lot of things to use the future for. We need a breakthrough from this deadlock.
Would you spend $160 more for eye tracking on your Quest Headset?
YES
i have quest 3 lol so no but maybe ill buy full body trackers
YES!!:D
@@mallo3021 That will be a little more expensive, but good luck.
Of course they will replace monitors and TVs. For me already did in many cases.
I understand that for you as a VR enthusiast, there are cases when you prefer using your headset rather than a flat-screen monitor. But in my opinion, as I also said in a previous comment AR may replace them once the technology reaches the stage of replacing smartphones. At that time it will be more convenient because almost everyone will have one. But until then the chances are low because the ease of use, alone and with friends/family, of the flat screen devices is more convenient.
id join invasive but not V.1 more like v.15
I think it's a pretty reasonable decision. By v.15 most of the technological problems will already be solved.

That's pretty much what I'd like to know as well. The sooner we find out the better.
you believe in the future of VR tech? you must be new. hi welcome to the worst gaming industry on the market, i hope you enjoy your 1 good game and dont spend too much on bloatware indy paperweight titles. no "VR Tech" can fix that problem.
It's true that the consumer VR market is mostly gaming-related at the moment. However, VR technology itself has uses in other fields like military, medical, and manufacturing. So the tech itself will evolve even if we have some periods with subpar titles. And this year seems to be one of the best we had in a long while with many good games released and planned until the end of the year.
@@NokutoVR there has been 1 title in 10 years that is considered AAA. there are 2 games that sold systems in that time. one of them was the aforementioned title, Half-Life Alex. The other WAS BeatSaber. The brutal reality of virtual reality is that it has no real world application. sure it is used for training very select few people in the fields you mentioned, also a couple of others, but that doesn't mean VR is a viable, industry leading platform that you want it to be. The Enterprise market of VR is the smallest market in VR i wouldnt expect them to really push anything other than fidelity and ease of use (which is also already in the consumer market). The hardware tech itself is barely creeping up year over year while the software has suffered from greedy indy devs making half baked titles. it really should be noted, that the games people are playing the most, like VRChat and BeatSaber, Pavlov all live and die by player created content, cutting the devs out of the equation. while thanking them for the good games that we do enjoy, they just arent enough to keep selling systems or drive the industry forward. the communities surrounding these titles just arent large enough to support anything like what you see with flatscreen game communities. Why do you think there arent any good MMOs or a CoD or a Destiny for VR? sounds like it would would be great but why do you think AAA studios arent really pushing anything in vr? theres just no money in it and they dont want to split their established communities and face similar issues just for taking a $50M+ misstep into the VR market. Thats the reason Valve had no issues putting forth the budget to make Alex, they dont have to compete with themselves or anyone else when theyre the only ones who are really in the position to do it all in-house as its a privately traded company. Sony/Meta are trying but theyre dealing more with limitations of hardware, which the effects of those limitations trickle all the way up into the best PCVR users. VR is the ultimate "damned if you do, damned if you dont" scenario and will be until either the bottom of the barrel standards equalize into a stable consistent platform (like with what xbox/ps5 do every 7 years) or until a dev team like valve comes out with a live service game that puts our money where their mouth is.
This video is misleading and wrong.
I'm not saying I'm 100% right about every person's situation. In addition, some innovations may appear in the future that will revolutionize the space, but until then I will stick to my opinion.
for now ure right but if vr headsets become lighter <100 gramms then monitors gets useless for most of us
At that point for a VR enthusiast personal use, it may become more convenient than a monitor. But for a family it will still be better to get 1 tv/monitor instead of 3-4 VR headsets from a price standpoint.
@@NokutoVR yes. but im not talking about TVs. just normal pc monitors
@@zahid5285 In that case, a specific problem that needs to be resolved is the ability to have a highly detailed representation of your face for video calls, which means that the headset besides being small needs to have good facial tracking, and the avatars need to look much better than the ones from the Apple Vision Pro.
It literally has replaced my monitor... so yeah, nope
...It's too late to take down the video, so I can only hope that you are a special case :))
i use it to watch movies or shows... but its way too heavy and annoying to wear all day long
@@바보Queen Most of the components will become smaller and lighter. Once they find a way to also solve the problem with the size of the battery( other what an external battery) we will be able to wear them a lot more.
@@NokutoVR yep till then its pretty impracti cal, also ur point about it not being a social experience is 100% correct, friend wanted to get it , then i told him u realize u aint gonna be able to watch with ur gf, and the realization hit.
@@바보Queen Yeah, that's why I believe VR will not completely replace monitors/TVs. AR may replace them once the technology reaches the stage of replacing smartphones. At that time it will be more convenient because almost everyone will have one. But until then the chances are low.
Asgard's wrath 2 blew my mind especially for an all in one head set
Yeah, it is an amazing game with a lot of fun mechanics and interactions. It definitely proves that you can do a lot with a standalone headset if you don't mind sacrificing the visuals a little.
NEVER is a strong word, i think when VR/AR get light and cheap enough for everyone to be wearing glasses it will be replacing pretty much every other device and things like phones will very probably become a computing puck for the glasses the same way a pc is currently a stronger version for standalone vr if you use wifi6E connection instead of wired connections. yes phones and screens will continue to exist for a very long time but we will probably only use real screens in limited scenarios. once vr resolution gets beyond 8k per eye in glasses style headgear and camera passthrough resolution becomes better than human vision which is already a research topic for future vr headsets it will likely be possible to make your vision better than your actual eyesight.
You are right that the technology will eventually become advanced enough for VR/AR to be considered a high-quality alternative for flat-screen devices. And most likely it will not take a long time to reach that point. But in my opinion, the fact that most people will even then consider this technology as "not essential" will not change. So most VR/MR enthusiasts will still need to use flat-screen devices to share media content with friends and family members who don't use VR. But yes, "never" is an overstatement, but it sounds better than "during our lifetime" :)))
What you people always forget is the battery. Everything else already exists, even if not cheap. We just can't power it effectively in such a small form factor.
@@archardor3392 thats why a puck or power bank like device will be the future when everything except the display and sensors are of the headset it will not be consuming as much power. Apple is already doing it and unless we discover some kind of magical battery it will very likely be the future. phone like device. that also powers alot of vr/ar gear.
@@archardor3392 It's true that the battery is also a current problem. From what I heard there are already preatty close attempts to create a new type of solid-state battery which is suppose to be more energy efficient. But it remains to be seen.
hoping to be able to fulldive, giving them 60 years :D wanna try it before dying
I hope they will do it faster, as healthy as I try to live, it will be a challenge for me to still be around for 60 more years :)))
VR pros: Great hardware and ideas with the most potential to replace anything device at home or even outside. Cons: Softwares and supports are still arse
This pro will become a reality only after they find a way to make the headsets smaller and closer to human eyes rezolution. Plus finding a soulution for the posibility of burning the lenses if you forget your headset in the sun.
The non evasive approach could work but you would have to have a wet suit like body suit that could heat and cool you also track your twitching and turn them into full action animations. Even better would be an exoskeleton so that you can set on things in VR and lift things with real world weight simulated.
The problem with having a wet suit or exoskeleton is that most people will be too lazy to fully equip themselves every time they want to play. We need something relatively small and easy to use like the Nervegear for this approach to even get popular.
@@NokutoVR tbh I wouldn't really care if I had to put on a wet suit each time.
@@keshi5541 Me neither, but I believe we are the minority. I hope a solution will appear somewhere in the middle.
@@NokutoVR Hopefully dude. I'm sure some people would obviously find it an inconvinence.
it’s a great workout, i use my quest 3 outside, in my garage or big empty room i always tell people im using a treadmill 😂.
You are a lucky guy for having all these big places to play in. A true omnidirectional treadmill is not something most people will be able to afford any time soon. Even the sliding ones are expensive for the average VR user. Hope you will continue to have an amazing time in VR
In my opinion the invasive technologies will be something great for people with disability, but also will be terrible if applied to able people. A "videogame" is just a... "videogame", it not deserves to touch directly your brain. Not a serious reason for it. I truly love videogames. I have a VR headset, love it and hope VR technology will grow fast, but I will NEVER want a "Neuromancer-like" scenery with chips on my head. A game is a game, reality is reality. We should appreciate more a hike in the nature, the reality isn't a videogame. If normal people will implant things in their brain, in the future it will be difficult to recognize what is "real" and what is "data from the chip".
I understand that putting a chip in your brain just for the sake of playing video games is a little extreme for most people. But in my opinion, whether we get a chip in our brain or not, as able-bodied people, will come much sooner than a video game that will use this kind of technology. Because no one will make a game if there are just a couple of people with the hardware to access it. There is still the possibility that we will take another approach towards full dive VR, such as nanobots that will be injected in us initially for medical reasons or a soundwave-based headset.
you forgot to mention motion sickness lol
Yes, you are right. In my defense, I was thinking about it when I said discomfort at 3:10, but I wanted to concentrate on things that apply to most VR users not just the beginners. Motion sickness has been around for much longer than VR technology so it is safe to say it doesn't have long-lasting effects.
@@NokutoVR I totally get it! and it was a great vid, very informative! But a large demographic likely to watch this would be newcomers to VR so it would be nice to give them a fair warning of what to expect lol cuz that was one of the main things about VR I was blindsided by. But again, you did a great job, and I look forward to your future vids! keep it up!
@@DannyFantem Thank you for the honest feedback. I added one of my old videos, in which I speak more about motion sickness, in the card and description of the video and I will be more careful in future videos.
Sounds like a nightmare, too many things can go wrong & people manipulated. I wouldn't trust the corps in charge of it, just like I don't now, with the technology available currently. I actually enjoy life, & understand the powers that be want you not to, & to as a result run away to what is fake, these toys. How else do they maintain & develop their power & control.
I'm not saying there are no risks nor do I say I hate real life. But since it will not allow me to fly on the back of a dragon, use powerful magic, or fight a building-sized monster with a rusty sword, I can only put my hopes in VR.
@@NokutoVR I like the sound of those things too, but if it requires you to give up that much to scoundrels, it will never be worth it. It's more akin to cowardice & willful ignorance that leads one to such a decision. There are far greater reasons to fight for, & live by than entertainment on its own, one of those reasons include the standard of freedom I'd leave to my children & generations of the future. I will not leave them more chains, I will not let them be cattle, I've learned the horrors of this way of thinking & it's revolting. While I'll stand on my hill & die there, entertainment & fantasy on its own is human. To have access to a non invasive, less potentially mind altering, relatively risky free form of it, then that's a more reasonable path to take in my eyes. I love life more, & feel responsibility for the people I love, than continued distraction by those who wish nothing more than to feed me & my own poison to enslave us, which will only lead to doom, not an escape from reality.
@@Cam-opener Then let's hope that a genius will appear and prove that non-invasive BCI is the better choice for the future of VR.
@@NokutoVR That sounds better yes, at least as far as can tell currently.👍
How do you see the VR space in 2024?
I would ...
Welcome to the club!
i only make stuff in VR don't like games or videos
What kind of stuff? 3D Art, VR apps, worlds or something else?
