Such responsibility was quite common for 12 year olds back then - they could well have never even attended school. My own father finished school at 14, in the early 1930's
Yes you are quite right about having responsibilities at a young age. Thanks for your comment.
RIP James. What a sad story, well told and well illustrated. Sad also that the offender was able to walk home discard his bloodied clothes after working on the soil at the side of the road and was considered insane. We can only wonder at how long he was in prison or "secure accommodation" before being released. Thanks for this, very good and subbed.
Thanks for your kind words regarding the story. It is a very sad and tragic one. Thanks for watching.
Thanks again...... 👍
You are welcome, thanks for watching.
Wade is only 1 person linked to the lyrics of this hymn. There are much earlier and non Jacobite attributions, including to monasteries and kings.
Yes as is so often the case in history there are different accounts and versions of the same thing or event. Thank you for watching.
Long live the House of Stuart.
You might enjoy our Killed by a Sixpence video which is a Jacobite story. Thanks for watching.
To "adore" a human king would have been to call him a God, like the Herodians who insisted that King Herod was the Messiah and the Second YHWH. Wade was at Douay. He was a Jacobite, not a heretic. So yeah, it's an interesting theory, but Bennett Zon should have realized it was full of nonsense. Blackbirds are one thing; stealing God's place from the Baby is quite another.
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Very sad story. Thank you for reseaching and sharing.
You are welcome, thanks for watching.
❤ IM ALSO A FAN OF JACOBITE LORE this was amazing
Thank you for your comment, it is a very interesting and tragic period of history.
👍
Thanks
Hi from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Hi from Perthshire Scotland. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for covering this liitle known story from my home town. Bank Street was originally called Pudding Lane, with Church St. leading to Duchlage known as the Kirkgate.
Thanks for your message, I didn't know that about Bank Street or Kirkgate that's really interesting.
Enjoyed the images you have chosen, provided a dramatic effect …Subscribed ❤
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for the video👍🏴🎄
You are welcome.
Thanking you
You are welcome, thanks for watching.
Lovely accent and your narration was well thought out and easy to listen to. I’m going to subscribe I see potential here! Do you know Briefcase? He is in this genre and very very good. Perhaps he would do a compilation to boost you . Anyway best of luck and hard work always pays off! 🇺🇸
Thanks for your kind words. I know of and watch Briefcase, he is excellent.
@have you listened To #TheCrimeReel ? You probably have but I thought I would add his channel as well. He is also excellent. A bit more mixed from years later than the 1900s. Very good work. Real voices, I cannot and will not ever listen to AI it’s cold and no matter how hard they try it’s a machine, humanity please stand up! Christ is KING.
Another very well illustrated and reported case from history. Well done on this, excellent! RIP Margaret.
Thanks, certainly a miscarriage of justice.
What a great but sad story this was. That poor guy being murdered and the killer being let off of the capital charge. Thanks for this and for showing what must be a lovely little town as it was and as now, possibly looking hardly any different now than it was in the day apart from the cars. RIP Mr Sharp, justice as so often, not served, but at least the hard labour for life will be a total inconvenience.
Thank you, Crieff is a lovely town, situated on the edge of the Highlands. I think the verdict was right, it seemed like a spur of the moment stabbing and not planned. I certainly would not fancy hard doing labour at that time.
Thanks for that, another interesting story.... (nice to hear someone actually telling the story instead of where others use the dreaded AI)
Thanks, as a storyteller I will never use AI to tell the stories even if it does cut out all the wee mistakes. I am glad you enjoyed the video.
Not too far from me, I’m in Montrose Angus. Great piece of History. Thank You! I really enjoyed it. Hope to see more from your channel!

Poor Margaret 😥(and he little son & unborn baby ❤). Mary will surely face the ultimate judgement from God Almighty; no escaping that!
Yes, we all have to be accountable some day.
I enjoyed your story. Quite tragic. Hard to put one's self into that time and era when life was so different than it is today. Thank you. EDIT: Do you have anything on Northumberland? My kin is from there.
It is a very tragic story and a miscarriage of justice in my opinion. I do plan on going further afield and doing some stories from south of the border. I am glad you enjoyed the story, thanks.
