I thought collapsed lifters was caused by bad oil like taking too long between oil changes? I have a gmc 2007 5.3L and my lifter on cylinder 7 got stuck. I have them all out now and will replace all of them. What do you recommend to make sure my afm lifters dont do this again? Im gonna buy a new updated vlom as well. Thank you.

Seriously thank you, i've got an 04 4.6 with 150k miles. This is the first repair ive ever done myself and it easily saved me 1k in repair. Whole job wouldve taken 20 minutes if I had your breaker bar😅 Im subscribed and looking for more videos on my engine. THANKYOU

i would want to check all the powers and grounds to pcm to make sure not a bad connection any good mechanic would check all that first any other way is guessing

Mine has the same problem but it goes forward but only from one side and the other side looks stuck in something but is not. I already did what you showed in the video but still the same. 😞 I need to move it forward otherwise is not way to drive this truck 🤦🏻‍♂️

You can run it the way the diagram says, but you need the 800 K6 belt. The belt he is showing is too long but the way he is running it. I’m sure works just as good but I ran it the way the diagram says in the belt I had to get is 800 K6 instead of 840 K6 the 840 is 4 inches longer, but either way it works so best of luck and honestly the way he is doing it. The belt is probably tighter the way the diagram has it. The belt is still tight but it’s not as much tension as usual but I’ve been running it and it seems to be working fine.

We used to do what we called "bastard flushes. Basically drain a but of the oil. Top up with aft. Get it good and hot. Make it work a bit if you can then toss in some "engine flush" let that circulate at somewhere around 1500rpm for a minute not under load drain it. Push some fresh oil through amd let that drain. Top up with new oil and mabey a shot of lucas if it helps you sleep better at night. Swap the filter amd you off to the races. Ive done it about a half dozen times and its worked way more often than not.

Kohler lawn mower engines have the same lifter issues. You add ATF to the oil running into the lifter tap goes away and then you change the oil. I done this a few times works great. I run diesel oil in all my small engines, bikes, wheelers, mowers etc. The oil stays clean for a long time with no issues. Rotella T has a lot of cleaning agents in detergents in them that help keep the inside of the engine clean and that's why I use that on my small engines

I doubt this will work on a fuel management lifter, if so please let me know
