Tim Hadcock-MacKay Can You Live Without
Tim and Torquil live in a stately home in Devon - Tim decides to run the house, entertain guests, look after their dogs, shopping and cooking - something he has always left to Torquil. Tim is a lovely, charming man and this clip is a tribute to him. I do not own this clip but thought you may enjoy looking at a week in the life of two young aristocrats.

DON'T WAIT UP - JANE BOOKER
มุมมอง 7K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Another segment from the 'Dont' Wait Up' Series. Features Tony Britton, Nigel Havers, Dinah Sheridan and Jane Booker. This was recorded nearly 30 years ago. Hope you enjoy this snippet from one of the later Episodes - taken a little out of context but so great to see these actors together.

I love Henry Greene's home. Forget Minimalistic decor this is beautifully and lovingly furnished - a pleasure to live with such a wonderful collection - put together over a lifetime. Britain's Smallest Stately Home
I spent alot of my childhood at the huge house Tim grew up in with my nan ,spent lots of summers there ,it was a place called The old vicarage in Doveridge I have lots of memories of him an his family .I never knew him when he was a adult ,wish I had ,he was a amazing guy ,often think of times at the old vicarage with all the animals they had ,the best times ❤️🙏
Thank you so much for your comment. I did record 'Mayhem At The Manor' as well because I found Tim and Torquil lovely, interesting guys. I think of Tim often and wonder what happened - a few years ago now but still remembered.
I don't think anyone could be what he was.😊
He was unique. A truely beautiful man who loved to share his talent and life with us. He loved his dogs and rescued many over the years - very kind to his fans. There are a number of his fan clubs you can join, lovely people and lots of Liberace photos and information.
I like how Johnny just let him talk and share. No unnecessary interruptions! L was always so professional and gracious. Very charismatic person. He is missed ❤

I’m doing the same in my house he inspired me wish he did a few more videos on the house 🙂 or wish could visit it.
Hello Jon, I love to hear from people who have found that you can turn any home into your own private palace - or stately home. Many years ago, I was inspired by the lodge Audrey Forbes-Hamilton moves into - from the series 'To the Manor Born'. In many ways I have adopted that style and still love it. God luck with your home, wish I could see some of your photos one day. Anne.
A one of a kind class act talent. He brought joy to so many. It’s sad to think he died an awful death. His talent and spirit live on. Love ya Lee! ❤
What a lovely comment - if you are interested you could join a Liberace Fan Club - a number of them are a pleasure to belong to. Many people still remember him or even knew him. These Fan Clubs are run by a moderator and have wonderful content. All they ask is that people are polite, friendly and not political or controversial. You would be very welcome.
Just watching.lovely lee while waiting for Xmas speech from chimpanzee Charlie
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
and also my favorite tv series poldark was the trenwith house
You can see a lot more of this house in the Poirot episode 'Mysterious Affair at Styles' - you will enjoy it.
With that uniform he looks like a Gay Nazi!
Eric was gorgeous. Can't judge his piano playing beyond obviously good.
"What I do .. I do best". No truer words spoken.
Gorgeous
He was amazing. 💚💙💜💙💚
For some reason, I do not care for this particular music! It is not normal standard Liberace repertoire which I adore.
I would love to have sat and talked with him about beautiful art and antiques. I have a collection of Candelabras that he would have loved.
Liberace really enjoyed talking to and meeting people. He was very approachable - I am sure he would have loved talking to you about your collection. In fact, I would love to hear more about it as well. We hold him in our hearts and memory - his life was a gift to us - and many, many people still enjoy the man and his music today.
It's so nice..
Oh,,, I’d forgotten how I love to hear him play. I like his style and pieces he plays. ❤️
It was my good fortune to have gone to see him perform in Las Vegas.:) I believe it was at the MGM stage; and the show I saw had a magnificent water fountain machine that flowed across that huge stage up and down to a straus waltz if I remember ,,, plus it incorporated lights with the changing of the fountain- just breathtakingly beautiful.
Thank you for your comment Alara - you will never forget the wonderful experience of seeing Liberace perform, it must have been amazing. There are a couple of Liberace Fan Clubs - which I belong to - and you would be welcome to apply to join. Really lovely members from all walks of life, some knew Lee and some performed with him. People from all around the world still love and enjoy his legacy.
Incredible Grand Pianoist and Showman
It's Heart warming when Liberace says he has helped mentally retarded young people.
An Englishman's home is his castle. If the outside does not match your dreams or memories from a previous life, you can always alter the inside :-)
The funniest thing that has ever been on television th-cam.com/video/mgH286eOni4/w-d-xo.html
I have a copy of the book, probably made about 1985-86
I agree with Mr. Green. Why shouldn't someone make their home nice? And what he said about his not drinking, gambling, etc., I can very much relate, especially since I am disabled. I took a big drop in income, not to mention my life in general ten years ago when I became disabled, but when I was able to live on my own again I decided that since I was no longer able to leave my home often then I should at least make it comfortable. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I never did recreational drugs, I don't have children, and I can no longer drive, so although my income is very low, what extra I have at the end of the month I put away towards things for my apartment. When I first began living on my own again, I had nothing but a cheap bedroom set and some leftovers. In three years, I've had people come into my home and their mouths drop. They cannot believe that I am able to do what I've done, but there is no mystery to it. I buy cheap, I scour the local offerings, eBay and other online sources, etc. What I cannot afford now, I save for after I've prioritized other elements. And I plan my three rooms ahead of time, lol. Yes, when you have only a dining room, bedroom and living room and all the size of a tree house (without the tree), you really have no excuse but not to do something with it. As for time, well if it takes a two or three years, what difference does it make? You are still going to be here in three years, so why not start now? In the past few decades, it seems that people have lost sight of the importance of where and how they live. It's as if they never grew up and are still living out of their bedrooms back home with their parents. Sometimes it's so depressing to see how people choose to live. Cleaning products are cheap, buy them and use them. If you would rather spend your money on toys, smoking, drinking, or drugs, then at least keep your living quarters clean. Being poor does not mean being dirty, not in the States. You may have little to nothing, but you can afford soap, ammonia, bleach, white vinegar, and other inexpensive cleaning supplies. If you can afford toys, and other non-essentials, then you can afford to keep your home clean. And yes, living standards have dropped tremendously for the working class since the late 70s. Minimum wage has fallen so far behind since then that it should be considered a crime against humanity. But that is what we get for loving the super wealthy, and believing that uncontrolled capitalism is some cure all for all humanities ills. So, yes, no more can a person on minimum wage afford to live alone, or even have a family - at least not since the sixties. So what if we don't want to fight for changes to make it better, that's our own fault, but we don't have to live like slobs now do we? Go on! Clean those windows! Wash your dishes! And vacuum up those fur critters under your sofa!!! You do have a sofa, don't you... and a vacuum cleaner? As for beyond that, like Mr. Green, if you are on a fixed income it may take much longer and much more thinking, but it can be done. If all you have is your living space, then make it comfortable for yourself. Maybe you might find that it will cheer you up.
Thank you for taking the time to send this message. I couldn't agree more - people have lost sight of what a home means and you have created a home which gives you much satisfaction - a safe place to live and be yourself. I often look at other peoples homes on Google. One man has created a 1940's style home and a lovely lady in the US has all 1950's. There is a Uk TV series from the early 80's called 'To The Manor Born' and the main character leaves the large stately home and lives in a smaller house. The decor of that smaller house inspired me to decorate in a similar style. It is a timeless style. Please take care and I hope to hear from you again. Anne.
There is no one, to match this Entertainer,....too much of a good thing, is Wonderful. Let's just leave it, like that! Rip ❤ Lee & Mae⭐🌟
I was brought here by "Grace & Favour", the sequel to "Are you being served?", where this house doubled for Millstone Manor. I would love to visit here someday!
Yes, it was used in 'Grace and Favour'. If you are a fan of the Poirot series the episode 'Mysterious Affair at Styles" was also filmed there - lots of indoor scenes. Chavenage is usually open to the public but because of the problems with Covid they have had to scale down visits to the house. The interiors of the latest 'Poldark' were also filmed at Chavenage.
Liberace was just like Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Salieri, and all the great talents of the past. Except we get to see him on film.
What a genius of a character Jane Booker made of FSG. You'd probably imagine her creation would count the likes of Audrey Forbes Hamilton et al as acquaintances were it set in the real world
Absolutely John. I often watch To The Manor Born and have found quite a lot of episodes with Felicity Spicer Gibbs in Don't Wait Up. Classic.
Great lovely Liberace he is so interesting
Whatever happened to Eric Hamelin? I cannot find any information on him at all.
Hello Brent, A member of the Liberace Fan Club mentioned a couple of years ago that Eric had basically given away his music career and is married with a family - he would be around 50 now.
@@susannahleigh26 how sad. He was so talented. I'm glad to know that he is still living but maybe it was too much stress to try and become a classical pianist. I hope he still plays for his family and friends. I wondered, because I have never seen anything written about him in any books.
Have always loved Liberace
Marie you may like to join the Liberace Fan Club - people from all around the world belong and contribute wonderful photos and information. Yes, he will always be loved.
He was such a sweetheart
Beautiful lovely amazing
Thank you Daphne - a few members of the Liberace Fan Club knew Liberace - some for many years. All tell of his kindness, generosity and lovely nature to all people he worked with including his own staff. He loved and saved many dogs who were his 'children'. He brought so much to people throughout his life - and is still missed so very much.
Whot i see and hear about Liberace gets more amazing he was so good-looking and interesting
Was Lee sick here or what?
Maybe the beginning of health problems at this time. He was in his late 60's and had worked hard for 50 years - exhausting shows in which he have everything he had to entertain us. He did smoke a lot and had heart and lung problems as well.
He probably already had AIDS...He died from it.. Amazing and talented guy. RIP. 💚💙💜💙💚
Thanks for sharing. Great clips.
What fun he has had. It’s so rewarding when you put the effort in and you get to enjoy what you created. This house is lovely very lavish a fantasy.
Was Poldark filmed there as well?
Hello Josephine, Yes, the interiors were filmed there. If you are a fan of Poirot one of the early episodes with David Suchet - Mysterious Affair at Styles show lots of the inside of this beautiful house. In fact many films and TV series have been filmed at Chavenage.
Strange to see him dressed so conservative, he looks like my crazy uncle.
Like most entertainers there is the public performer and the private person. Liberace dressed more conservatively when he was as home - although he did like colourful clothes - I liked his caftans. This suit is beautifully tailored and looks wonderful on him.
I loved the show Tim did called 'Time to get your house in order' cannot find copies of it anywhere! he seemed a nice man.
Thanks for your comment. I am in Australia and we got this one plus Mayhem at the Manor. I have looked for the one you mention but can't see it as well. Let me know if you find it. I do have all of Mayhem at the Manor - but there are several episodes - too much to put on TH-cam.
@@susannahleigh26 ahh thanks for looking. It was a great programme. He went into homes that were chaotic and poorly managed and did a time study about where their time was really going and he sorted them right out and got them organised. I loved it
@@pegggy4b Sounds like a series I would have enjoyed as well. Maybe someone will put it on TH-cam. Kind regards, Anne.
He was a very nice genuine man. I met him a couple of times at one of his central London flats. He was lovely. Very caring. I remember feeling very sick with flu one day and he ran me a bath. Sadly I fell out of contact with him but was extremely sad and upset when I later discovered his tragic passing.
@@dang9277 Hello Dan, I love to watch Tim - what a personality. You have lovely memories of him. I have the other series he and Torquil did later on and must watch that again. That was filmed in the house they bought after this one. His death was something I had not expected. I had been ill at the time and decided to google him - so sad. May we always remember the essence of this lovely man.
